Ren Cen to Belle Isle? Forget the water taxi.

Help picking where to sit for a game
 in  r/Detroitcityfc  9d ago

I feel that for people not "into" soccer, the supporters sections is the better choice. It is much more entertaining and fun, even if you don't know the rules of the game.

First game as a season ticket holder. Is there a section for them? I’ll have my teenager with me. If no season ticket holder section, where’s the best section to avoid the smoke?
 in  r/Detroitcityfc  13d ago

Supporters Section is only the East side now. The end sections on the West are reserved for non-supporters this year.

Most games the northern most section (closest to the food trucks) of the supporters section gets the least smoke, but it is very wind direction dependent.

Not sure why people with teenage kids would be avoiding the supporters section as mine loved it and still do. A few f-bombs never hurt anyone.

Michigan Representative Josh Schriver to Unveil Resolution Urging Supreme Court to Overturn Gay Marriage
 in  r/Detroitcityfc  Feb 26 '25

I believe the petition is for the US Supreme Court, not Michigan. He is looking to overturn the federal case. Likely virtue signalling to get attention (maybe an appointment even), but with the current court, you never know. I have been concerned about this and Loving since Roe.

I do not see a discussion on that group. I thought I saw a post, but it seems to be gone now.

Can we just make the keeper kits be LGBTQ+ flags this year. If she wears it every game, we are good, no comment needed.

Grade A carrot dangling from USL
 in  r/USLPRO  Feb 20 '25

I would expect an expansion fee at each level initially. It could only be the delta for each jump. That would give owners a payment plan and time to build the facilities, team and supporters. A team failing to get to Premier would weed out teams not ready.

Could you have new owners have to buy in at League 1 and promote through Championship to get to Prem? Top teams in L1 and Champ would have the option of promotion for the first few years with only optional regelation from the leagues.

Who do you think will join the USL Division 1?
 in  r/USLPRO  Feb 14 '25

MLS shifting to the independent club model and a consolidation of leagues into a Pro/Rel system is the only way I will start to watch MLS.

I just don't know how you reconcile the MLS single entity in an eventual merger. One of the main reasons for me to enjoy USL over MLS is the independent ownership of USL. The single entity always felt manufactured or Disneyfied (if that is a word).

Outside of louisville city what other teams would have the stadium size and training facilies, financial backing and even attendance to be considered D1 in usl
 in  r/USLPRO  Feb 14 '25

I struggle to figure our how the Pumas game was not a sellout. I don't know how you can cram in more people.

I disagree. New stadium plus first division would really help drive exposure and ticket sales. I think DCFC is in from the jump.

USL D1?
 in  r/Detroitcityfc  Feb 14 '25

They are all professional teams. USL league 1 and USL Championship are pro. USL League 2 is a semi pro summer league.

All of those have pro teams.

Move over, Major League Soccer. A rival top flight men’s league is coming to the U.S.
 in  r/USLPRO  Feb 13 '25

The 14k number was I believe used specifically to indicate intent against an MLS bid. It has been mentioned that expansion was being designed into the plan. My thinking is they were waiting for this announcement to include that number in the official design specs.

Conceptual DCFC stadium renderings
 in  r/Detroit  Feb 08 '25

Not sure what makes this impossible? It is an easy walk from Corktown or Mexicantown. A greenway extension would make that even easier. It is less distance from Slows to the stadium than it is from Fowling to Keyworth.

Does the US have any “fan-owned” teams?
 in  r/USLPRO  Dec 13 '24

They (DCFC) are opening a platform to give the ability to trade shares or so we have been told. Not that I am looking to sell.

I saw someone last game wearing a T-shirt version of the black strohs jersey. Any idea if anyone is selling those anywhere?

MLSNP vs USL CITY COUNCIL Meetings
 in  r/USLPRO  Jun 17 '24

I found the rankings at the end entertaining. I have listened to enough of these to laugh when a rogue council member dumps on the process.
