Rabbit Hole of Jubilee Girl
Some context here: I think it was sort of crazy seeing this girl and her views on Jubilee, and I don't know if this is like the boosting of new "conservative" influencers or what, but since this Sam Seder episode dropped, this white nationalist girl has been getting massively boosted by Nazi accounts and others, further attempting (or succeeding) to normalize Nazi talking points and propaganda, and seemingly succeeding because crazy, but NOT Nazi conservative accounts are also non-critically boosting this stuff.

No way bruh
None of the studies have anything to do with transgenics
It does and it doesn't because the right wingers are mentally disabled.
Transgenic (in this case, the mice):
relating to or denoting an organism that contains genetic material into which DNA from an unrelated organism has been artificially introduced.
The MICE used in these studies were genetically altered in order to test hormone therapy and other medications like vaccine resistance - which is done all the time anyway.
So the studies DO have to do with 'transgenics' the same way it has to do with 'beakers' or 'syringes'. These are tools that just happened to have the name 'trans' in it and the right wing ran with it.

Zelenskyy will fight to the death for his country, billionaires will just fly off to safety.
I love Ruzzia simps like you posting this nonsense while completely ignoring Azov was integrated into the Ukrainian Armed Forces after the invasion, most of its already extremist members either excised (or killed in fighting) early on, only had less than 1000 members anyway out of NINE HUNDRED THOUSAND active military.
While Ruzzia ACTIVELY has Nazis in leadership.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neo-Nazism_in_Russia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexey_Milchakov
Many neo-Nazi sympathizers from abroad joined the militias of the self-proclaimed, unrecognized Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics at that time. According to an analysis by the French Institute of International Relations referenced by the Czech iDNES.cz server, members of far-right groups have played a much larger role on the Russian side of the war than they have on the Ukrainian side.

It looks like the Tates are going to Mar-A-Lago
They left this morning (local European time) and it was mostly a shock to pretty much every news outlet because it was out of the blue and nonsensical due to their legal issues.
The only way they could leave Romania and go to the US (and only the US) is for the Trump administration to have personally applied pressure or a deal to have the Tates come to the US for some reason.
This isn't for a podcast or any leisure trip on its face, they couldn't leave Romania and two sex traffickers are now possibly meeting with government officials if not the President himself.

Trumps Blackshirts spotted.
Honestly, watching the full video of the 'meeting' (in a public venue) she didn't even speak out of turn.
She literally said 'Is this public forum or private lectern' to a representative, and had these fat fucks drag her out while the rest of them cheered.

The military purge has begun. Trump is going to replace the leadership with loyalists, this is scary.
Who resisted the Nazis in Germany?
The Social Democrats (SPD)—with its paramilitary group the Iron Front and activists such as Julius Leber—Communists (KPD), and the anarcho-syndicalist group the Freie Arbeiter Union (FAUD), that distributed anti-Nazi propaganda and assisted people in fleeing the country.
I mean you could make propaganda, put up flyers, stickers, memes, etc etc in public places, work places. That gets the ball rolling and is at least something.

Political News/Discussion Am I going crazy or is this a new thing or...?
So here I am at work, bored and on Youtube.
On my front page is this channel and this video with over a MILLION views in less than 12 hours.
Its Musk at CPAC, the comments are ridiculously right-wing/crazy/glazing etc.
Then I think, "That's kind of odd for Forbes, especially with the comments..." and the channel is named Forbes but it seemingly has no relation to them but it uses their logo and they post dozens of videos a day and its ALL right wing Trump content?
I know there's right-wing channels all over the place, but this is the first time I've seen a channel that's masquerading as a existing news network with this amount of videos and engagement.
Has anyone else run into anything like this?

Some Hasan context from a Turkish perspective
I had this thought as well before posting that people might not understand the viewpoint.
I don't think I am reaching at all, because Hasan to you all (non-Turks) seems non-traditional but his behavior is.
He could be called a 'Beyaz yaka zorba' in Turkey. A white collar bully. It means on his face, he's liberal (as in progressive, anti-conservative), drinks, isn't religious etc. etc.
But his behavior of bullying, insulting people personally, projecting his own insecurity, the...misogynistic comments that come out sometimes is 100% PURE traditional Turkish male prince of the family behavior.
Turkey is, unfortunately, FULL of Hasan's and we can smell them a mile away which is why he had a pretty sizeable Turkish audience when he started and they have kind of dwindled over time.

Some Hasan context from a Turkish perspective
Its more Turkish imo - Turks and Arabs don't really overlap in this. In my experience Arabs would be more strict/judgemental and controlling AND open/hostile about it, whereas Turkish parents are more 'expecting' that you 'do your duty' and deviating from that would bring shame (as silly as it sounds).
So there is expectations to fulfill, and pressure even if they do not say it. Obviously varies from family to family, but overall I think Arabs are more open with their emotions (even hostile emotions) while Turks with their kids are less open and expect their kids to just understand their role/duty.

Some Hasan context from a Turkish perspective
Not really, if you know more about where Hasan came from you can kind of understand his...viewpoints.
The old secular upper class were VERY well educated, but would not support anything like socialism/communism for example, that is contrary to their ideology of a strictly militant meritocracy (that is the ideal at least, in reality its so-so).
His takes are more a toxic combination of wealth privilege, anti-westernism/liberalism and Marxist ideals.

Yes I am, and thank you! My English is pretty good I'll say, but Its hard to translate your thoughts from Turkish -> English and then have it have the same effect writing it into English.

Some Hasan context from a Turkish perspective
Yes, I do agree with that opinion but in a lot of Eastern cultures, while the son/daughter does have the child and is supposed to raise it, there is also a social responsibility on the grandparents and extended family to also help as much as they can.
So while it can be seen as shameful to not "provide" grandkids, its also shameful not to help raise the grandchildren as well, sort of a two-way street.

Drama Some Hasan context from a Turkish perspective
So, disclaimer - I am Turkish and see this Ethan/Hasan (and Destiny since he used similar insults before) conflict from that angle.
There is Turkish proverb that can be used to explain Hasan's specific behavior I will talk about:
"Ne zaman evleneceksin?" - "When are you getting married?" (Its a basic question to anyone not Turkish, but Turks will immediately understand)
To anyone who's watched Hasan a long time (both in his stream and on H3), you might have seen a pattern of behavior that Ethan and Destiny also pointed out that Hasan has a tendency to insult people by addressing their age:
"This guy is 40 years old, he should be an adult, he should be taking care of his kid"
"This guy is pushing 50, he should be raising his kids, being with his family, not drama-farming online"
In Turkish families, whether they're liberal or conservative, they tend to still be 'traditional' and nothing I have seen from Hasan's family suggests they deviate from this tradition. Even LGBT positive families in Turkey expect that their kids will have children in some fashion (in vitro, surrogacy).
Normally I would not assume other people's intentions but what Hasan says directly leads me to this conclusion.
That is, the expectation that by your mid-30's, definitely in your 40's, you should be 1. married 2. have kids. The parents (in this case, Hasan's) expect to be grandparents - this is like a "of course" thing and to NOT "provide" your parents with grandchildren is seen as both a bit shameful and disrespectful to your parents.
This is quite different than Western familial and societal expectations and I think it might be why Hasan is regularly attacking Ethan (and others he disagrees with) using their age and family because HE is at the age (and passing it) that he should "settle down" and start a family and spend time raising kids - something that Ethan is doing well objectively.
To me, when Hasan is saying Ethan is 'doing childish things, should raise his kids, spend time with them, stop spending time with this and that' its not only projection but a internal crisis that HIS clock is ticking (as far as family, fulfilling that expectation) - and he has stated multiple times that HE wants a family and kids and whatnot.
Its been a bit of a long wall of text, but I hope this puts into context why he insults people's age, their responsibility to their kids (that he thinks they aren't fulfilling) and how it reflects his own mentality.

Political spam in LA/PVP lobby
It depends on what you mean by right-wing politics, as far as US politics.
For example, back in 2012 when GW2 launched, right-wing discussion online could be like 'low taxes, small government, individual liberty, rights over the majority, business stuff'.
Now its 100% hyper-focused on conspiracy theories, LGBTQ issues, focused on a one-man cult (Trump) instead of policies or real political discussion and constant demonizing on the opposing side.

Political spam in LA/PVP lobby
I consider myself very liberal, but I think older MMO's (or inactive ones) tend to have what you're describing.
OSRS (Runescape) I think is more older players, but as far as stories in MMO's, SWTOR isn't as overt as GW2.

Political spam in LA/PVP lobby
I'll just echo the same with my own sentiment.
Of course I can (and do) report them but with stuff like this its whack-a-mole which goes with the territory of an MMO.
I didn't even consider the accounts being bots for example - but the question was more why GW2 of all games (or MMO's even) that this is so prevalent in.

[Discussion] Political spam in LA/PVP lobby
I know in the US its election season, but really this has been going on for a long, long time.
On NA (and sometimes EU) there's a LOT of specifically right-wing politics being talked about in LA and the PVP lobby. Ranging from conspiracy theories, to just...really distasteful chat (anti-LGBTQ)/pro-Trump spamming for hours on end at times.
You would think these accounts are trolls, but its a LOT of them - and no one really talks with them since I assume most people block them so they just talk with each other, but Joko help any player who doesn't have them blocked.
I'm used to it at this point, but really...we're playing Guild Wars 2, an objectively progressive inclusive LGBTQ+ friendly game WITH an equally friendly studio and publisher behind it. Why would you pick THIS game to spew that nonsense in?
2
GW2 is one of the best MMOs available but why do you think hasn't seen player numbers like WOW or FFIV consistently?
I never understood FF14's pricing model and how to purchase it.
So you start with F2P? But then like you buy a xpac like you do with HoT/PoF? But there's a sub too? So its F2P/B2P AND a sub?
Like...what.

I'm Turkish as well and I wouldn't say its early Erdoğan, but Trump is more like Erdoğan post-2012-2016, ditching the people who were his supporters early on (some neocons, moderate Republicans) and building the cult of personality while brainwashing his core base and purging anyone not loyal enough.
The stumbles are even similar, the Turkish economy starting tanking similarly to what Trump is doing now when Erdoğan started to go down this route - that's the silver lining really, authoritarians really really suck as managing healthy economies unless they're literal petrostates like Russia.
The only thing I'm worried about, besides anything else, is Trump trying a false flag of some sort or a failed coup to become even more of a dictator when his policies and actions start to destroy Americans' every day life.
