Wild times indeed. I think we are in for a wild and violent ride.

For now, all the different factions are fueling each other up, combining power. Egos will inevitably clash, goals will eventually be misaligned, they will plot against each other and act on it. But they hold too much power, and some of them seem very organized and strategic. Even if/when some factions burn, most likely the others will step on them and rise. I'm not seeing a scenario where a solid anti-fascist opposition will show up. The future seems bleak.

Christian Evangelical Nationalists want "Christian" Supremacy which for them includes white supremacy, cis-hetero-patriarchy, anti-trans, anti-queer, anti-science, controlling women's bodies, Islamophobia, etc. They see it as their religious mission to control every area of society and enforce their beliefs. They also want money and power, which they see as God's reward for being "good Christians". Christian Zionists want the removal of the Palestinians from their land and/or their life, which for them is a requirement to bring forth the Rapture. They also seem to view climate collapse, wars and disease (the pandemic) as signs that we are in the End Times, which is the stage that leads to the Rapture, if I remember correctly. So they are actually happy that all of those things are happening, and they want more of that. They seem to consider Trump as God's instrument, chosen by God to help in making all of these plans a reality.

Finished my BSc at 21. At 27 I came to the conclusion that that area of work was very wrong for me and that what I needed was to change careers. Went back to college at 30 and got a BA — while working full-time at my very demanding first career. In retrospect, now I know that by 27 I had hit burnout. Yes, I made everything worse by getting a second degree. No, I wasn't diagnosed at the time. Was unable to change careers because I was falling apart after getting my second degree, so I just kept working in my original career and continued to push myself until I crashed hard at 36 and wasn't able to work anymore. Diagnosed ADHD at 37 and ASD at 38.

Communication is frustrating af. Even with other ND people sometimes.

I wonder what "subtext" actually means for the other person. It seems too unspecific to me. A lot of things can be subtext, if I'm interpreting the meaning correctly. The first thing that came to mind was "emotional impact" in the sense that I can state something using words that mean literally what I have to say, but that literal meaning can be hurtful to the other person, even though I didn't mean to hurt the other person. It becomes an intention vs impact kind of situation. Even though I didn't mean to hurt the other person, not understanding that what I said can have an impact that doesn't match my intention, is a me problem. That would be avoiding emotional accountability and could be manipulative. But this is an hypothetical situation. I'm not referring to the OP's specific situation as I don't have any context. I'm just "what if"-ing my brain away. And this is why I find communication frustrating. Because "what if". This might be a trauma response. Nevermind. Carry on.

Since you mention being focused on your ASD side I'll share an ASD related suggestion. I've been reading Fern Brady's book Strong Female Character and I really like it. Being late diagnosed myself, a lot of what she shares about her life's experience has been very relatable. Not trying to flatten the experience of every Late Diagnosed Autistic Assigned Female at Birth Person™ into a monolith, but to me it's been therapeutic, although in a sometimes sad / angry way.

About ADHD: I remember I really liked the 3-part series that Alie Ward's podcast Ologies made about ADHD. It has Dr. Russel Barkley, René Brooks of Black Girl Lost Keys, Jessica McCabe of How to ADHD, and Jahla Osborne of University of Michigan. Since you mention decluttering, I highly recommend KC Davis' work. I first found her at TikTok, where she's @domesticblisters, and her content/videos are VERY useful and VERY relatable and accessible. That's been where I've found more value in her work. She also has a book called How to Keep House While Drowning: A Gentle Approach to Cleaning and Organizing and her podcast is called Struggle Care.
