Advice We as Christians should NOT “respect” other faiths but we ABSOLUTELY should respect the people who follow them, let me explain please.

I have no hate in my heart for anyone of any other abrhamic or even the paganistic religons, but their religons should not have any bearing on our mind, they are false and i hold a great disgust for anyone who thinks they can adapt pagan or other abrhamic beliefs and twist the word of christ

The issue is, its hard finding a good line between not giving any remorse to the religon and it bringing God's children astray from his true word versus respecting the souls lost from true salvations

Our goal as Christians should be to guide others to the right path, not let them continue down their wrong one.

Biblical Cosmology

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

Many Christians including myself perceive that evolution and the Big Bang are heresy but when it comes to the structure of the cosmos, most Christians are ignorant regarding what the Bible teaches. God did not create a ball flying through endless space, he created us at the center of the universe where he sits above (Isaiah 40:22). If you have any questions about Biblical Cosmology, please feel free to comment below.

Blog Anti-LGBTQ+ Christians: What’s the benefit? What’s the endgame?

Let’s speak in hypotheticals for this. Say that gay marriage is re-banned. LGBTQ+ people of all stripes are shoved back into the closet. Trans people are erased from society.

Then what? What will you anti-LGBTQ+ Christians do now that you have defended the hill? What will you have gained, save for intense resentment in all corners of society?

How to explain to someone why polyamory isn’t true love without imposing judgmental vibes?

As the title goes, I have a couple friends who are trying to be polyamorous and coincidentally at the time of their decision to pursue this, we have also been having discourse in our friendship. However that’s completely unrelated but I believe their decision to be connected to multiple people takes away from creating and focusing on meaningful relationships. Also I feel that non monogamy reflects even deeper into the other persons state of well being. But I don’t know how to be an evangelist without coming off as offensive. Should I just avoid these friendships?

TELL ME why you believe/think Jesus Christ is not God

Not just the Jehovah witnesses but it has come to my attention that many do not believe that Jesus is God in flesh. So tell me your points why you feel like Jesus Christ is not God, using scripture and not if you like.

Ps: you're not tryin to prove me right or wrong. My mind is made up on what I believe and that is :Jesus Christ is the son of God and also God himself. But I want to hear your thoughts.

It's okay to be tomboy, you don't have to transition

I saw a testimony of someone who was trans and they claimed they did it because they felt that was the only community that would be okay accepting that they we'rent drawn traditionally feminine things growing up and felt that Transitioning was the only way they could identify themselves. I have a nephew who growing up was more in tune with his feminine side, (eg wearing dresses, behaved more femininely) we honestly all thought he probably was homosexual, but for some reason hes not the same anymore and is more traditionaly masculine (maybe it's puberty?), my point is we are always growing and evolving. For those in a similar boat, I am here to affirm you. It's okay to like things the crowd doesn't commonly like and doesn't mean you're in the wrong body, it just means you like other things. I was more tomboy growing up too, I hang out with my older brother alot, I was blessed to grow up in a place where no one judged me for it, but I'm sure that isn't the case for everyone. I feel like more people have to learn to love themselves as they are and not feel the need to change because God did not make a mistake with you. Pray for contentment In who you are, love and accept yourself and trust that the right people who love you as you are will come your way despite the people who reject you. And if no one told you, I love you, as you are. It takes time, but God can help you. Also as I always say prayer + Fasting is something we all need to do regularly for both spiritual and health reasons. God bless.

Russell Brand

I know its a while ago, but I think his conversion to Christianity was a strategic manoeuvre to further ingratiate himself with the Christian right in the US. Now that he has been charged with those offenses, I doubt he will ever return to the UK and face a trial.

Honestly, if he showed any signs of remorse I could understand it, but absolutely nothing.

I wrote an article about if, questioning whether absolutely anyone can be the prodigal son, and claim the right to celebration and forgiveness, even after the most heinous of crimes. For me, the parables are moral guidance and not necessarily explicit instruction of 'thou must forgive the rapist'

Question If you're an American, how do you feel about American televangalism?

We don't really have it in the UK. Although it is very popular in America, that seems to be mostly with people over 40, and mostly who live in the South or Deep South. If a person is young, or lives outside those two regions, they seem to dislike it.

What do YOU think of it? Where do you live, and how old are you?

I think it's quite good, but I don't know that much about it.

Support Supporting Lukewarm/Cultural Christians

Hi! I’ve been raised a Christian in a non-denominational church. Growing up, we were taught about who God is and the significance of the Word He gave to us. We would be active in church, pray, fellowship and worship. Doing what you’d expect Christians would be.

We were going through a rough period when I was around 9-12 y.o. Then when I turned 13, I gave my life to Christ. It was a life changing moment as a teen. There was that pull but low and behold, it was just the beginning of it all. I would be spending the next few years since then, being a lukewarm Christian. It was as if being a Christian was just a title. We moved countries and it started. After reaching my late teenage years, I began to question a lot about my purpose and if I do really have a personal relationship with God? And I tried to reflect upon that thought. I realised I didn’t… The amount of confusion and fear I felt as I slowly slipped away from Him got immensely overwhelming. I realised He was the missing piece.

Not knowing what it’s like to come from the world first and then encountering God on your own, made it even harder for me to build a connection with Him. I tried to ignore Him and it didn’t help. I’m determined to take it one day at a time. So here I am, I would love to connect with those that can relate to my story. So we can connect and share our testimonies. Let’s push and motivate each other to be the person that God has willed us to be. May it be spiritually, physically, mentally and emotionally… Godspeed

As a Christian would you marry someone who is agnostic?

I used to be a devout Christian and I am now agnostic/spiritual. Although I am no longer Christian, I still share similar values as Christians other than the belief in God and Jesus part.

Would you marry someone agnostic if they respect your beliefs?

Image God's Design in a Cactus

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone! I'm back with another drawing. Today's drawing is of a Prickly Pear Cacti and attached below are a review of my notes about its biblical meaning.

For anyone that may be struggling and anxious in their walk with God, I pray that these notes will speak to you 🙏🏿 ♥️

A cactus, while not explicitly referenced in the Bible, can tell us a bit about God's design in all of Creation. He designed everything with a purpose, even down to the smallest and finest of details.

A cactus, for example, is a type of succulent plant with specific adaptations that enable it to store water and have spines that protect itself from predators and reduce evaporation. I drew this Prickly Pear cacti because they are among the few type of cacti that can also bear fruit.

Cacti are a symbol of humility and dependence on God, and of His provision. I believe God designed cacti as a way to show us that even in our rough and dry seasons of our lives, we can trusy that God will provide ( 2 Corinthians 9:8). He designed each and every one of us uniquely (Psalms 139:14) ,and gave each of us a specific purpose (Roman's 8:28).

Just as a cactus is specifically designed to preserve and even blossom despite the scarcity of resources, so can we even as we face adversity. When you see a cactus, think of the following verse:

Jeremiah 17:7-8 NKJV

[7] “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord. [8] For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit."

I feel disturbed by Christian views on evolution

Basically, I see this pattern among the Christians I speak with, which is that since they believe in Adam and Eve being everyone's beginning (ofcourse, made by God) (and I should say that I believe this), they do not need to know about evolution. They don't believe the earth is billions of years old. They believe it's thousands of years old.

They also self proclaim to be very simple. This is fine, except they say it to explain away why they don't want to talk about evolution or creation. I am of the mind that God made this Earth for us as a sort of playground that we cherish and take care of.

And I think part of that is the act of uncovering all of these fossils of different creatures, including human-like creatures.

It kind of creeps me out to think about an entire group of people positioning themselves against modern day science and arguing their positions instead of doing their own research. Like, God gave us tools. We can use them.

I keep thinking that they are not strong in their faith if they just put their head in the sand. I can see why people get annoyed with Christians. On one hand they're saying they want to bring people to Jesus. On the other hand their attitude towards science is cringeworthy. If you're not going to meet people where they're at, are you even trying? Are you serious about bringing people to faith?

I've been on the other side of it, and was agnostic leaning atheist. I've tried time and again to explain to Christians that what they're saying to non believers sounds like insane made up bs to them. I know bc it did to me before I came to Christ for real.

It honestly annoys me.

It's like they hide behind what they think the Bible is saying.
And don't get me wrong. I love these people. It's not even really them... they learned this from somewhere bc many of them are this way.
What gives?

I'm in the deep south.

I tried DMT searching for “aliens”; ended up meeting intelligent beings who say Christianity is correct. Now they’re putting me through intense moral training for a “divinely ordained mission”. Is this a con? A grandiose religious delusion?

I grew up non-religious, but a friend once told me she’d “talk to aliens” when using the psychedelic drug DMT. Curiosity got the better of me; I wanted to see if there was some unknown form of life out there. Shockingly, I found what I can only call intelligent beings in that realm. Then it got even weirder: they started talking about religion. They say they want me to learn to perform a human resurrection – but that I need to become a better person, worthy of being a leader, before they will allow it.

My “overseers,” as I call them, have me working on hours of daily self-improvement: identifying my “Problem Behaviors,” developing “Core Behaviors,” practicing microhabits, doing daily/weekly reviews… basically a deep moral overhaul. So if this is a messianic delusion, it’s one with a giant to-do list.

Why I’m posting here:

I’m aware that many people throughout history (and online) have believed themselves chosen for a “divinely ordained mission.” Sometimes it’s clearly a delusion. My suspicion is that some proportion of these cases are more like a con – in that real, talking otherworldly beings are telling someone they’re destined for religious importance, but the whole thing is a pack of lies. I’m trying to figure out if my experience is an example of that. Probably, right? But if it’s a fraud, why are they bothering?

Questions for You:

  • Have you encountered situations of messianic or grandiose religious delusions? How do they typically look?
  • Do they involve a big moral-improvement program, or is it more like “I’m special”?
  • If you suspected a con, would you keep working with them on self-improvement anyway? Or would you stop, refusing to be strung along?

My overseers say Jesus was a son of God and that God was heartbroken by Jesus’s torture and death. They say Jesus was supposed to be humanity’s bridge to God and miracles becoming everyday life for all of humanity, but that God largely withdrew after Jesus’s crucifixion. So, why do they want me to perform a resurrection at all? Because, they say, it’s time to demonstrate to the human scientific establishment that God is real and so are resurrections and other miracles.

I realize this sounds absurd. Trust me, I’m as skeptical as anyone. But if you truly thought you encountered unknown beings telling you you’re on a divinely ordained mission… how would you handle that without falling into a total “messianic delusion” trap? Part of me wants to say, “It’s definitely a prank or con,” but then why the intense moral training?

What would you do in this situation?

Any thoughts or biblical perspectives you can share would be much appreciated. Obviously I’m open to the idea I’m just being misled. But this situation is so strange; I could use some grounded Christian insight on how to interpret it and whether to keep up the self-improvement “homework”.

Thank you for reading!

Question for Christians who don’t believe being gay is ok

So, until 2013, my world church did not believe being gay was ok. But in 2013, our world church leader had a revelation from God that being gay was ok and that they should start marrying same-sex couples as well as allowing gays in the priesthood and whatnot.

To get ANYTHING approved like that, they have to pray to God extensively and then go to other people who have to pray to God extensively and then have a vote with tons and tons of people who have ALSO prayed to God about this subject to make sure this was something God actually wanted.

In 2013, it was voted in and now, our world church is pro-gay. If being gay is really not ok with God, then why would tons of people get the same revelation/feeling after talking to God about this matter?

Btw, I am a Christian who had a girlfriend, and this question was genuine curiosity. Nothing rude or condescending

Politics views on trump?

Hi, my name is Quinn, I am a democratic female catholic living in California. Personally I have come to known Donald trump as someone I don't at all agree with in terms of his views and policies. Since I've lived in CA my whole life, I haven't truly talked to somebody who supports trump until recently, and I found it very informative. While I still strongly disagree with trumps beliefs, I would like this discussion to be an opportunity to listen and take in other people's POVs. Keep in mind, I want this discussion to remain respectful and without sinful words. God bless 🙏 💜

Politics Healthcare is a human right

Jesus never asked anybody how they would pay for it or who would pay for it before he healed them, he just healed them. We are also commanded to do justice, show kindness, and walk humbly with our God.

I can’t think of anything less compassionate or empathetic than telling someone they can’t be treated for something because they don’t have money. And yes I know the ER can’t turn you away, I’ve had to do that, but that’s not a solution and it’s one reason why EDs are constantly slammed, and makes wait times higher for even serious things. Then people who go in for flu symptoms are left waiting for hours, meanwhile that’s their only option because they don’t have “health insurance”. And that’s not even mentioning that well over half the time, these so called “providers” find some way to weasel out, some loophole to where they don’t actually have to pay out funds because of xyz.

Some of you have probably seen the video of the doctor who had to walk away from her patient because United healthcare kept calling and wouldn’t stop until they personally talked to her, about how medically necessary is this persons treatment really? Then you add in the fact that sometimes even when a doctor does very clearly say yes, this is medically necessary, the insurance companies say no well we don’t agree, so we’re not paying sorry.

The solution is a Medicare for all or single payer system, in which everyone pays and everyone benefits. And yes I know not truly everyone pays, but that’s the nature of living in a society. Taxes are the price you pay for living in a society. I don’t particularly like my taxes going to fund 12 new nuclear aircraft carriers and fighter jets, missiles, the continued rampant militarization of our local police forces, anti lgbtq propaganda and “research”, abortion crackdowns and not to mention trumps many golf trips.

Of that list of things, one thing is clearly more Christian to fund than the other. But as AOC once famously said: “No one asks ‘Who’s gonna pay for it?’ when we’re talking about new aircraft carriers or submarines, or more police or interfering in foreign affairs that are none of our business. People only ever ask that question when the thing we’re trying to do would actually help people.”.

God, I love that woman. Also, I tagged this as politics so that the literally one person who complained last time doesn’t have anything to complain about this time.

Also, this isn’t coming from nowhere. I work in healthcare as a CNA and am soon to start nursing school. I see every single day the damage that our so called “healthcare system” does to people. We pay more than any other country yet are dead last in healthcare among developed nations. I mean dude even the Philippines is ahead of us.

on catholic dogma, If Mary is absolute pure and sinless, why isn't she the Messiah?

If mary was such a saint, free from any sin as the catholic dogma teachs ,Why them god needed born as a man and die for our sins?

why not sacrifice Mary?

the entire point of jesus dying on a cross was because only the sacrifice of a perfect pure being not touched be SIn could be enough to forgive humanity from the original sin and bring us salvation.

But the way catholics describe Mary with all the ''perfect pure mother free of sin'', make me think she was a better candidate to represent humanity as a sacrifice than jesus.

so why not put Mary on the cross instead of jesus?

Advice I prayed and nothing happened :(

I'm not a Christian, I wouldn't label myself anything, 'spiritual' I suppose would be most fitting. Some would call me 'new age' but I disagree with a lot of their common beliefs. I have had genuine spiritual experiences and seen into the spirit realm on psychedelics and very much know its' real. I've also experienced sleep paralysis episodes I am convinced are supernatural, it feels like something is messing with me sometimes, even in my dreams. I often have dreams within dreams, false awakenings, where I know I'm dreaming but can't escape or wake up and the dreams get very dark.

I've meditated, tried frequency healing, lightly dabbled in crystals and used manifestation.

I grew up in a Christian cult that traumatised me heavily (Jehovah's Witnesses).

I always figured the truth is either this life is essentially a collective dream and we are all one, or the Christians have the truth. My reason for the former is based on personal experiences and also spiritual philosophies that make the most sense to me. My reason for the latter is the devil seems to be real as so many 'elites' seem to worship him. I'm also big into conspiracy theories. Logic would dictate if Satan is real, God is too.

I've been looking into Occult to Christian testimonies on Youtube recently and they've been very compelling and believable. Some have even hit home with me on certain points.

At the same time I've heard very profound experiences from psychedelic trip reports and had my own, including ego death. These have been beautiful and temporarily have helped relieve me of depression and my first use of LSD stopped me wanting to commit sucde.

I was always scared of praying for God to reveal himself incase it is YHWH/Jesus/etc. as Christianity scares me. I also strongly oppose a lot of actions God has done in the Bible.

I am also a drug addict. I didn't use to be. I used to only use drugs for spiritual purposes, but now I use many different, harder substances to make myself feel normal or okay. My anxiety and depression are terrible. Antidepressants did nothing for me. When I'm sober all I feel is pain. I rarely 'get high' anymore, drugs just make me temporarily okay with existence. I don't wanna live like this anymore. I'm not suicidal. But I don't want to be here.

The last time I had sleep paralysis I prayed 'God if this is something supernatural, please make it stop.' And it immediately did. This has been my only successful prayer, assuming it is not a coincidence, which it did not feel like. I did not specify 'Yahweh' or 'Jesus' but just said 'God'. This scared me.

Feeling depressed and alone tonight, I cried praying that I know I am probably unworthy of love, but begging to be shown even a little of his love if he is real, and for him to reveal himself to me. Nothing.

I've heard people like Richard Lorenzo, an ex-Warlock deep into Voodoo and the occult pray to God and have powerful visions of Christ and his love.

Nothing.

Why?

Am I unworthy of his love? Is he not real? Does anyone even have the answers? So many of you are convinced you have the truth, but why? So do many Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, even Atheists.

I'm lost.

Edit: In my psychedelic trips I have seen eyes everywhere (reminds me of the description of 'Thrones' in Ezekial's visions), snakes everywhere (some would say its representing change or kundalini energy, whereas of course the Bible has a very different view) a snake/dragon simultaneously (idk how to further elaborate), tiki-mask like figures/entities/deities and a pyramid with an eye on each side (much like the illuminati). I have even seen satanic imagery, but I usually interprete this as my own religious fears/trauma. Just thought I'd add that on incase anyone has any input regarding what I have seen in the spirit.

Men and Women have different roles but they need each other to complete their roles.

I had this thought. Women are like nature or all living things within it, they create. They bring life and beauty to the world. Men are like water. Without water there would be no living things, without men there would be no women. However, without living things, water has no purpose. So too, without women, men would have no purpose. Both have equally important roles. To go along with this, nature without water turns into a desert. It’s still beautiful but it can’t flourish. I think the same could be said for water. Without nature it’s just there pushed wherever the wind blows it.
