Question/Advice/Discussion EDC Watches

I've owned this watch for about a week, so still relatively new to my growing collection. I get quite a few questions about this watch on this subreddit, so I thought I would share the details and information.

Daiso Mili Watch

-Specs: 38mm case (this is my best guess)

-Fixed lugs (this watch will only accept nato straps but with some light modding, you could possibly get it to accept spring bars.)

-Standard military spec dial with 12 & 24 hour time.

-Lume on the hour markers as well as the hands. (Not the greatest or brightest but it gets the job done in a pinch.)

-Hattori/Epson PC215 Movement. (The company is owned by Seiko. The movement itself is made in Singapore. Takes a SR626SW battery which is good for about two years, according to research I did on the movement.)

-It is hackable.

When it comes to edc, knives and flashlights usually take center stage next to wallets and possibly handguns. Not a lot of people, this day and age wear a watch for obvious reasons. We all carry a phone of some sort today that tells this. Watches give us another reason to unplug from technology just to check something simple as time, unless you wear a smartwatch of course. It also gives us an opportunity to be more customizable. To change straps, to add a pop of color or to play it on the down low. Watches tell others you care about your time and how you use it. They add a level of detail to yourself as an individual.

If you wear a watch for edc, which one do you wear. If you don't, why not?

Watch looks great. I recently checked multiple Daisos in CA and they don't carry this, so I may have to order soon.

Is the cover resistant to scratches? Made of glass? Plastic?

Thanks. Yeah, this watch is only available in the Daiso's in Japan. I ordered mine through eBay from a Japanese seller.

It's a plastic crystal so I can imagine it being easy to scratch. Even more so since it's domed.

Cool. This may replace my decade old, still working tiny Casio MQ-24-9B, similar 12/24hr face.
