So, i have been out of touch of legal field for almost two years, or a little more than one and a half years to be exact. Just last month i noticed that my mental health has improved a lot. I remember having headaches every day and extreme anxiety.

To be more precise, i passed my BALLB course in 2023 mid. after that i looked at various exams and courses. had fights at home. somehow established some boundaries and got some dignity. Law school was hellish, i surmise that NLUs are the most archaic national institutes. I went from thinking that i will get a 12 lpa to realizing that no one in law would give me a job without refences. Litigation was a no go.

I have people from my uni who went ahead and bagged that 12 lpa (or even 22 lpa) or a senior who somehow go a really niche job and switched over to financial fraud area in Canada without a masters, i cant figure out how someone would make such a switch without knowing the president or something. Right now, it is crystal clear to me that a person cant get a job in legal sector without references or having something extra like belonging to a specific caste. My parents and cousins still think that legal sector is okay to work in and just like other sectors. My mother even said it to my brother that had i worked in legal sector my salary would have been 40LPA. How do i even explain it to people that what they are talking about is literally hearsay. no one is ever seeing 40 LPA in law no matter what, in the start of his career.

IMO coaching centers and industry is to blame for these unrealistic expectations.

The good part is that i saw it and decided to quit law. Obviously all my internships lay waste. And at least my mental health is much better. legal sector seems like the most nepotistic and "who you know" kind of profession.

Am i the only one who had it this bad?

PS --> when i say a job, i mean a job where i get paid decent and i know that my senior wont throw me out when he is done with me. sadly legal field is filled with people who would work for 7k in Delhi, which is barbaric and slave like.

I have bachelors in philosophy and I am interested in law. I have an option to either take the safe bet, do MBA or go for 3yrs LLB.

What I think lawyers do is read a lot and do a lot of paperwork. I do not want to do litigation. I really like studying about ethics, reading and investigating issues and doing paperwork.

But I see a lot of people unemployed after their 3 year law degree. Surprise surprise but I don’t wanna be unemployed. If you have recently graduated from law school, would love to get your insights!

I have always been fascinated by a lawyer's/attorney's job and I my friends and teachers frequently tell me that I could make a splendid lawyer because I love debating and writing things and I am the first one to catch on a particular phrase which could insinuate something else and I pay great attention to detail.

And... I could have a warped view on law because all I have seen in movies is the lawyer arguing in the court (which I would LOVE to do) so could anyone explain what does it actually mean to be a lawyer?
Like what do you do and do you meet new people? Is the job over glamourized and what different lawyers deal with?

Because while I believe I can be successful in this field all of the people on the internet swear that it is a horrible job and that you should probably just shift careers. And I don't want to make castles in the air so any assistance would be appreciated

Hi everyone, I'm currently in my second year of B.A LLB and I've been thinking of dropping out. This is mostly because the crowd here is very toxic and it's eating away at my mental health and the course doesn't seem appealing to me whatsoever. Also, the college is very far from the city and it's impossible to go out anywhere. I have tried my hand at joining the clubs/societies here but it hasn't worked out. I want to join a 3 year degree maybe at DU or someplace, but for that I need to prepare for CUET and I'm scared that I'm losing so many years of my life.

Honestly don't even mind doing law, it's just this place is frustrating me and I haven't been holding up well academically either. I just think it would be more beneficial if I did a 3 year degree and then a 3 year LLB. But 2 years have passed and if I drop out now I might lose 4 years(while prepping for other colleges) so that's what is holding me back.

Do you think I should just keep at it and finish this 5 year degree? Or drop out and study for other competitive exams?

myquals- I’m in my ug college final year rn and I’ve properly begun the prep for the nlsat 2025 exam just now. The exam’s in april, I feel so scared and anxious. I mean is it possible to clear it in a month? I’ve been demotivated by people a lot and I’ve been told that just a month ain’t gonna do me any good :/ I’m just looking for some sort of guidance, some suggestions that’d actually help me out for the exam. Any suggestion would do, I’m freaking out here. 😭

I just got into 3rd year in a state law college (i took this college as a backup for my partial drop for clat 2 years ago). Prepared day and night for clat last year with the dream of getting into NLSIU. Somehow messed up last year's CLAT. I took CLAT this year so that I don't regret it later on, and also i had developed a fear of exams after the CLAT 2024 fiasco I was also having very low self esteem. I got a good rank this year enough to get NLS. I'm 19 years old currently and will turn 20 soon. My goal is to get into corporate law. Should I join NLSIU or continue in my law college. I haven't focused on studies in this college at all, I've just passed my exams with no co or extra curriculars whatsoever. Some more info: took clat 23 with 3 months of prep, got into a tier 2 NLU, didn't take it. wrote clat 2024, didn't get any nlu. Took clat 25 and here I am. Also is 20 too old to start law school (i passed out from 12th in 2022)

I'm currently teaching as an Asst. Prof. in an undergrad level. I'm just curious about whether or not LLB will help me earn more? I'm kinda worried that AI will take away my job, and I'm thinking of LLB as a back up.

Does that even make sense? Do I have scope as an Arts grad with 3yr LLB?

• I'm passionate for medicine, but I somehow made my mind done with the idea of it cause its not feasible at this point.
• My parents want me to join Private Medical College
• I'm from a middle class family , obviously we'll have to take loan for my studies.
• My parents don't want me to sacrifice my dream for money issues.
• I had never thought once about pursuing law , but I analysed my assets and concluded I have traits and personality to do well in the field of law , actually very good.
• I solved previous year paper of CLAT and I scored 72 marks (I solved only one , I know its doesn't gaurantee that I'll do great in exam but its just for reference)
• At first I was VERY SKEPTICAL ABOUT CHANGING MY FIELD TO LAW cause being able to do something is a different thing and loving it is different. After thinking for long I was assured to pursue Law , I even bought some books today for CLAT and other law exams now suddenly my parents are saying that we'll take care of the fee, you fulfil your dream to which you gave 2 years .My father doesn't want me to sacrifice my dream like he did cause of poor financial situation at the time.
• Personally it did hurt to quit a dream I had for years but life doesn't revolve Idealism , Realism does come into play. I thought of pursuing private but it just did not seem to be a wise decision.
• I want to be independent , but loan is just like tying knot on my freedom. I have a vision for my life , with loan its kind of suffocating LIKE I'M BOUND TO THIS NOW. I don't want to pursue something which makes my parents go to such extent. I WANT TO CREATE MY PATH AND TO DO THE BEST WITH THE QUALITIES I HAVE. Even if its okay to go for private college I still want to do something on my own.
• My parents explained me a lot on why to choose mbbs and now I'm scared again what if I don't like law even if I have qualities to pursue it.I'm just clueless at this point .Some say maybe I'm fascinated by law ? Also I don't know much details about the field of law.
• Also this is my last chance after this I can't switch my career.
• Am I just being an idealistic fool by setting standards like doing things on your own, creating your own life and stuff? Should I just listen to my parents and pursue MBBS without thinking?

Every other guy I meet wants to become lawyer or had/have the dream to become lawyer

Is it because everyone has become have become political Is humanities more interesting then science or commerce or is it just me Or people don't know what to do if their lives so they are becoming lawyers Basically what are the reason people persue law degree

Will competition in law increase because in present senerio I see the supply or lawyers exceeds demand so what will happen in future ☠️🤡

Is studying law is very difficult?.what are the struggle I will face as a very average student in school and first of all is studying law school means hours and hours of long reading is that true and in my case I'm not a guy who can sit and study for hours (I can learn but not like the toppers). Is law school only consist of dry reading and memorize or my understanding of the course is wrong please someone give me a clarification. I, F(25 in august) my_qualifications- BALLB from a private college, will complete my master's in law by July 2025 from a good govt. college. The colleges I want to apply to for phd will start their admission process in Nov- Dec. Although I am preparing for JRF, I am not completely sure that I will qualify the exam. Additionally, even if I do qualify, I won't get the allowance unless I enroll in phd which won't be until December. I am really confused as to what I should do during the time from July to December. I am fed up of asking money from my parents and it is very well known that nobody in law pays enough to freshers and I don't want to go into litigation/practice anyway. Please give me some suggestions.

For the longest time I’ve been preparing for NEET and just recently realized I’ve wanted to do law all this time. I know that most of the entrance exams were last year December but are there any other entrance exams or this year I could take to pursue a BA LLB course? I don’t know what counts as myquals.

So I'm a student myquals is passed class 12th and lives in bangalore. So previously my stream was science but I couldn't write the exam so after that my dream of becoming an engineer was crushed by my family and I was forced to focus on law. So I took arts stream now I have completed it. After asking a lot of people, I got to know that doing normal BA LLB has no scope and if you do so there should be a family member who is already a lawyer. But if I take up BBA LLB and go into corporate law field, it's a different story as you can work a corporate lawyer which doesn't need any back support like how normal lawyers do. And I was also told that if you graduate in a normal low quality colleges you won't get proper job but if you do it in a reputed college you will get good job and opportunities. This is the information that I have right now. Another problem raised now that my parent's are saying they admit me in a reputed college because of huge fees amount. They are forcing me to join normal college because there is less fee's and I'm trying a lot to tell them what is the consequence's but they don't want to listen to me and just said on my face they can't do it. Now I'm stuck and confused at this stage what should I have to do.

I’m really struggling with what to do next and could use some advice. I took a drop year , but for some really dumb and personal reasons, I completely messed it up. Now I’m sitting with a CLAT rank of ~30K and AILET rank of ~10K, and honestly, it feels like all my efforts and a year of my life went to waste. I have been sitting at home for a year now.

I know I can’t change the past, but I still want to make the best of my situation. My qualifications aren’t great , and I’m considering:

• Uttaranchal University

• Amity (Noida or any other campus that’s decent?)

• Some IPU colleges (not sure which ones are worth it)

• Or should I just give CUET this year to get a better college?

I don’t have any delusions about these colleges being on par with NLUs(I am not capable enough ), but I still want to pick a place where I can get decent faculty, a good peer group, and at least some career opportunities. If anyone has been in a similar situation or knows what might be the best option, I’d really appreciate any advice.

Hi! Myquals are 97% class 12 isc (humanities). Due to heath reasons, could not join any good colleges for my ug (99percentile in 5 subs in cuet) so joined a state university for ba in history, eco and pub ad. This is my last year of ug, and I know I gotta do llb after this.. There aren't any muxh colleges or universities in lucknow that offer a good law course.. I'm from LU so I pretty much know I don't wanna be there..anymore..

What are the pros and cons.

Iam currently doing my Bachelor of Computer Application degree and got slightly interested into Laws I know it feels weird choosing a completely different path. But I want to enquire about the modules there to study and if we need any particular skills to apply for the course My qualifications is +2 with a grade of 80% in science. Thankyou

I took 4 drops for NEET in hopes of doing better the next time but honestly I only took these drops because I couldn't see a future in any of the courses that I could get into after completing my 12th with PCB.

Now, with just a few days left for NEET 2025, I’ve realized this field isn’t for me. I’ve always been interested in law but never seriously considered it.

With around 6 months left for CLAT 2026, is it possible to crack it and get into a top NLU like NLSIU or NALSAR? I’m ready to give it my all, but I’d really appreciate some help:

Is 6 months enough?

What books or coaching should I follow?

How much do I need to score for the top NLUs?

Any tips for a late starter?

Also, would this switch be good for me?
