TL;DR At end.
Some background: I wanted to get a Civic or Prius/corolla. But Toyota and Honda are asking SILLY money for what amounts to a car with dated cloth interior (unless you pay even MORE silly money for nicer pleather seating). With their financing APR, the monthly is in the upper 500’s/low 600 for 20% down at 48 months.
So the “savings at the pump” effectively diminishes after that.
Also insurance for the two cars in LA are exorbitant.
I looked at the CX-30 and 50, but they’re a bit out of my budget. (Following the 20/10/40 rule).
The Mazda 3 is the only one that came at a sub 500 monthly for the preferred trim when I used the online estimator.
“Why Mazda” because that interior is fkn nice. Mazda seems to give you a LOT of car for the price. Competitors say: “you’re buying our name, lol, now enjoy the cloth seats held together with a zipper big dog”
However, I notice the Mazda 3 hasn’t had a refresh for years now. And I was looking at the 2025 model. I’m possibly open to buying a 24, but….its my first “new car” purchase having driven used cars my whole life.
Do you think I can possibly rat my way into a cx-30/50 near 25-26k? Or does Mazda not really negotiate. Or wait for a refresh in 2026 (maybe) for Mazda 3.
TL;DR:
Mazda 3 no refresh in years. Wait for 2026, or will I just be in a endless “wait and see” mode.
Can I negotiate a mid 20k OTD price on a cx-30/50 preferred trim, or does Mazda have the same pull as Toyota and not budging at all.
I’d be happy with current Mazda 3 as it stands, my car is a 2004, so I’ll “feel” the upgrade regardless.
780 credit score as I see it online.
I am in Los Angeles if that helps.
Looking to buy late summer.
