I'll be playing it on a Ps1

This is the oldest CPU I've seen from those benchmarks. Getting a 5700x3d could almost double your FPS.

I plan on upgrading to a r5 7600, and getting a 7800xt/7900gre later down the line. I hope i can do it before DLC comes.

I suggest getting an X3D chip (7600x3d). Those are so damn good for CPU heavy titles like Monster Hunter, they have brutal singecore performance from the extra V-cache.

That would be awesome but unfortunately that is out of my budget, the processor alone would be almost the cost of all my upgrade I have intended, as I have to get all new, processor, mb, ram, psu, case, memory

The other possibility would be a 5700x3d and try to get used mb and ram. AM3 is a dead end platform but I would prefer it over an 7xxx non 3D cpu. That's probably your most bang for the buck option. I upgraded from an Ryzen 3600 to the 5700x3d and got an 20%bump in FPS (with my 3060ti).

Yeah but that would mean i have to buy again mobo, cou and ram all over again when I want to upgrade. Whereas with am5 i can get the 9800x3d for the same price (a couple of years later). At least where I live it makes the most sense

Ehhh, a beefier CPU is not going to help you THAT much for this game I'm afraid. People are vastly overestimating cpu impact here. I have the same card as you do but my FPS isn't vastly better than yours or anything

I know it won't improve vastly but it's an upgrade I have to make anyway. I would like to make the gpu upgrade aswell but it will have to wait

Totally understandable. I upgraded from an i7 7700k and 16gb of mismatched ddr4 ram sticks to a 7800x3d and matching 32gb ddr5 ram sticks just to make my OS and other non-gaming related activities smoother. And also for cpu-intensive games like paradox games and minecraft, heh.

Wilds is the first game I'm actually unable to play with the gtx 1080 that I want to play. Hell, I could even play and finish the Silent Hill 2 remake in 60+ fps somehow by reducing the screen resolution. An upgrade is probably necessary unless Capcom is going to fix the performance (or if modders do it somehow)

Damn that must have been quite the jump. I don't think it will be optimized any further, let's hope for the DLC we get the optimization we need.
