Open Where do you go when you are deported?

This might be a stupid question, but when you are deported, where do you go in your country? Do they dump you at a random spot in your country if you dont have a home to go to? Leave you at the capital airport with nothing?

Open Why people try to stop people from euthanasia ?

I saw a tik tok of women that is going to get euthanasia

People in comments were mad

Like this people will not comfort her when she will suffer

Most of them are not going to spend a penny for her treatment

They will most likely forget about her in couple of days or weeks

They are the ones enduring the pain

But still they go their like it is their business

Open Women, do you feel comfortable with men brining their daughters into the women’s restroom?

Basically the title. I, as a girl, don’t feel uncomfortable at all, but I am quite young, so maybe that’s why. My mom said she’s fine with it but I saw on another subreddit that woman that it was gross and felt their safe was violated. Thoughts?

Open More protein? Need ideas!

Hello! On a journey to healthier eating and slow weight loss. M y calorie counter notes that i am still eating a lot of carbs and very little protein. Any ideas as to how I can sustainably add protein to my meals? I guess eggs are out, unless I hit the lotto.

Mother passed away this morning. Her birthday would have been this coming Friday. Would it be bad faith to schedule her funeral for the same day?

Open Women redditors, would you be OK with your SO staying friends with a ONS with whom he is now platonic?

If you were in a relationship with a man who was close friends with a woman he previously met from a ONS but no longer slept with after that night, would you be OK with him staying friends with her?

EDIT: To clarify, ONS = one night stand

Open How to get water REALLY stuck in my ear out of my ear?

For some context, got out of shower, had water stuck in my ear, tried getting it out with a cotton swab thinking it would absorb it, instead went up WAY further, won't come out. What do I do to get it out??

Open is it actually socially acceptable and normal to kneel down to a kid's height when talking to them?

i don't know any little kids (no siblings, no little cousins, only a few friends with little kid siblings, i'm a teenager), and i was thinking about how to actually introduce myself and interact with a little kid and i always see people in movies bend down to their height/kneel. is this a thing people really do or is it condescending to the kid and weird? thanks

Open What stupid little things in life make you happy?

This thread is not for talking about how happy you are greeted by your dog/child after a long day at work. Because that’s not a stupid thing to be happy about. This is the tread for talking about how you are driving in the middle lane and the car in front of you slows down for no reason and so you smoothly slide into the left lane to pass all while maintaining your speed.

Open Parents: what’s a non-adult-oriented place that you *still* wouldn’t bring children?

“Adult” places like liquor stores or adult bookstores are obvious answers for obvious reasons, so those don’t count. EDIT I’m referring to retail establishments,as “church” seems to be a popular answer. EDIT 2 I always thought liquor stores didn’t allow kids in - i stand corrected - but some parents still wouldn’t, I suppose, and thats alright.

Case in point: I’m looking to purchase a used lawnmower so I’m going to cruise some pawn shops this weekend. But i don’t want to bring my kid - Im not even sure why, just feels inappropriate for some reason. So that got me thinking…

Open What are some of the biggest changes that happened later in life that ended up making your life better than ever?

Hey folks,

Lately I’ve been feeling a bit stuck. It kind of feels like I missed the boat on some things, or like it’s just too late to make the kind of changes that would really shift my life in a big, meaningful way. I know that probably isn’t true, but you know how the mind works sometimes.

So I’m looking for a little inspiration, if anyone’s willing to share.

What are some of the biggest changes or decisions you made later in life? Whether that’s your 30s, 40s, 50s, or beyond, I’d love to hear what ended up making your life better than ever.

New career? Finally started that passion project? Moved somewhere completely different? Left a relationship? Started therapy? Picked up a new hobby that changed everything?

I’d love to hear real stories of people who found a second wind, a new beginning, or just a deeper sense of meaning and joy. Even small shifts that had big ripple effects.

Maybe I just need to be reminded that it’s never too late. Thanks in advance.

Open How many people do you know who's like Andy Bernard from The Office who constantly brags about the fancy school they went to?

I get annoyed by those kinds of people, who's whole identity is the elite school they graduated from. It's like the only reason they went there was for bragging rights and so that they could feel superior. No one else except for you gives a shit.

Open is it unreasonable to ask my roommate (we share a room) to not call her friends in our room after midnight?

Before we submitted our request to be roommates, i told her that i go to bed early so it is not a surprise that i want to sleep. We also have a common room on our floor so it would be easy for her to move. I am just worried ill come off annoying. Also the calls are usually like 30 minutes and at like 2-3am

Open How much sugar in home made food make it unhealthy?

Upvotes

The more sugar the more unhealthy it is but when does it cross the line from healthy to just ok to unhealthy? Lots of recipes like banana bread or oat cookies are called healthy and contain some healthy ingredients but ask for white sugar which isn't good. A little bit in a huge portion doesn't make it unhealthy but at one point the line is crossed. when?

Open teachers, do you remember embarrassing moments your students have?

it wouldn't let me post to r/askReddit so here I am. last Friday I had a really embarrassing moment in homeroom. it was quiet in the room and I had headphones in with music really loud, starting singing quietly but it turns out I had been A)singing REALLY loud and B) getting shushed by my homeroom teacher. the kids were laughing at me and it was super humiliating. I apologized to my teacher after, but do teachers actually remember this stuff? do they pause mid-task and laugh like we do when we remember stuff?

I’m wondering what are those spots that most folks don’t know about. Maybe they’re just local landmarks or maybe something happened there that changed the world.

Open Why Dutch can’t develop their own microchips manufacturing?

Everyone knows about TSMC and how they have monopoly over high end microchips. In order to manufacture them, they require very complex machines that as far as I know- made by Netherlands. And even if it isn’t that, the ASML has a monopoly over those machines. The question is, why Dutch or even EU didn’t use this to build their own independent microchip manufacturing. Thanks for the answer in advance, I can’t sleep over this question
