I really enjoy showing Christians the contradiction about Paul’s conversion—haven’t heard a good response yet.
In this video—I provide an overview of the Book of Acts and argue the reasons why it can’t be trusted as literal history.
The early church was very divided and in constant fights about the theology of this new religion based on the death of Jesus.
Video Summary: - Acts isn’t eyewitness history—it’s theological propaganda written decades after the events it claims to describe. - The author contradicts Paul’s own letters, especially on key events like the Jerusalem Council. - Miracles and speeches feel scripted, echoing Greek storytelling more than real eyewitness testimony. - The book sanitizes early church conflicts, painting a picture of unity that Paul’s letters directly challenge.

Didn’t want to become Athiest
Last week after watching countless videos about our universe and the multiverse, I’ve found myself in a deep existential crisis :/.
I’ve never been religious but I’ve always been spiritually agnostic and believed in the works of Michael Newton about reincarnation(which I don’t necessarily have a reason to throw out the window yet) but relearning about the cyclic universe and the expanding universe and that there are possible “ends” to the universe (not doomsday but like in the way people think the earth is flat and there there are “ends” to the earth) it really makes you wonder where the fuck are we and why? Are we toys? Why can’t we have access to other beings? We really are too smart for our own good and too dumb to know what we even are and I hate it!!
How lucky or u lucky are we to be humans? I look at my cats with pity now :(. Thinking about the universe just makes me think how much more likely it is that there would be nothing after death. We’re like the trees, the plants, just animals and nothing more. We just happen to be here at the right/wrong time stuck here with pain and happiness all for something we do not know. I just don’t know how to deal with the concept of death period and now thinking like this makes it worse.

Religious people should be banned from holding public office.
If you believe that the earth is flat and that it's only 10 thousand years old and that you need to manufacture a biblically prophesied apocalypse to spur the return of a jesus type figure than you have no fucking business being an elected official. Yes, there are people in the US government who are intentionally advancing the rise of global temperatures and the escalation of global conflict because they believe it will bring Jesus's return. Laugh all you want because people like Alex Jones made the topic unserious, but Bohemian Grove is a real thing. It's members participate in the cremation of care ceremony every year because they're actively seeking the end of humanity. Every known member of the Bohemian club is a Christian. Don't even get me started on why Israel is so fucking important to them. Religion is the most destructive force ever invented by humanity. Fuck Religion. Fuck Religion. Fuck Religion.

I know how much of a scum bag Mo*@mm@d(piss be upon him) was but I want to know about Jesus.
Like I have very little knowledge about Christianity in general, I knkw how the split of Catholics and Protestants happened and 30 years of deadly wars and stuff. But I want to know about Jesus was he overall descent Person or just another religion fanatic figure like Mohammad.
Is there any Christian who is now atheist can tell me? Please (I am just digging up and learning history so I was curious.)

The one TRUE religion.
If you haven't already, I suggest checking out the movie Heretic (2024). I am not a fan of horror movies, but this one is a great watch. It delves more into the creepy aspect rather than you're typical lazy & brain-dead Hollywood jump-scares. As an atheist, this movie scratched an itch. Iykyk.
Please use the spoiler censor if you're looking to comment on the movie so that we don't ruin it for others!
Spoiler comment regarding the movie:
besides the solid observations that Mr. Reed points out regarding the stories of Jesus and other pantheons/religions, one thing I particularly enjoyed was the reversal on our feelings about the 'miracle' of resurrection. Christians paint it in a positive light, but it was the last thing they wanted in the movie lmao
Another movie that involves religion and that I really like is Sunshine (2007). I view that plot as a metaphor for our entire society's history lol.

As a christian i find the eucharist very weird…
Sorry if this doesn’t fit in this sub, but idk where else i could post it because i certainly know that i would get flamed by other christians as a heretic or devil possessed lol.
So i believe in Jesus as God but i think that the eucharist is very weird and unnecessary. When i think about it, you are symbolically taking blood and flesh from a person who sacrificed himself on a cross. Now i know the reason why they do it, and that because Jesus is God his blood is pure, but i still can’t shake the feeling that it’s very ritualistic and weird.
I debated other christians that when Jesus was talking about his body in that sense, i think he meant it symbolically having belief in him rather than literally taking his flesh and blood through the eucharist.
I feel like i’m the only christian who sees this as super weird and cult like.

Over 40 Percent Of Americans Believe Humans And Dinosaurs Co-Existed
This is just one example of how toxic and harmful religion can be to humanity, making several million people live in a fantasy and become totally detached from reality. The idea that ancient humans co-existed with dinosaurs comes from Young-Earth Creationism, which is a Biblical doctrine supported especially by Evanghelists, which is pure non-sense.
Humans couldnt survive among those giants, since natural selection would simply wipe-out all the human beings in such context. Just imagine Triceratops or Stegosauruses, who where giant herbivores eating all the crops cultivated in order to feed entire villages or towns. And how could humans resist to ferocious carnivores like Trex, Allosaurus, Spinosaurus or Carnotaurus? I remember how a retard from my country told me that humans used to be like 10 meters tall, so they would easily defeat dinosaurs. Unbelievable...
Also, the Earth with life conditions suitable for humans couldnt work for dinosaurs and vice-versa. When dinosaurs walked the Earth, the atmosphere was much richer in oxygen, that being too much for humans to breathe, while dinosaurs couldn't possible live with the life conditions we had 6000 years ago and still have today.
I swear that the world would have been a much better place without religion, since it's brainwashing people into rejecting the reality and denying science, making them living in a fantasy. The worst is that religion is slowly prevents scientific progress to go further, due to the fact that society is more and more brainwashed into rejecting it.

Is there some sort of anti god or anti Christ type community in existence?
Like they say that there’s something called illuminati, now I don’t believe in any satan or god stuff but I just want to be part of some sort of community.
Thing is I don’t have anyone in my life so it’d be nice to be part of some community. Religious people can go to church and they’d be accepted in a community and make friends and get close to people, but for atheist that’s not the option.
I like being anti god so some sort of anti god community would be good for me. I am okay with paying for membership even, the same way they pay tithe in church lol.

Paradise as Muhammad imagined it
When God creates doors for Paradise, it means He is unable to control entry and exit except through the use of assistive devices. This is the simplest evidence of human thought.
Doors were invented by humans to prevent strangers or animals from entering, or to maintain privacy. If God uses them, it means that God is a product of human thought.
The Prophet said in a hadith:
I will be the first to knock on the door of Paradise. I will knock on it. Its angel will ask, "Who?" I will say, "I am Muhammad." He will say, "I have been commanded that no one shall enter before you."
Paradise has become a hotel, a concierge, and reservations. Billions of people have been entering for millions of years, and none of them will enter before Muhammad.
Isn't describing Paradise in this manner contemptuous of God and the minds of the listeners?

Imagine life without a loving God who cares for humanity.
Imagine life without a loving God who cares for humanity.
Unfortunately, the world would be like this:
Individuals dying of hunger.
Malignant diseases tormenting people daily until death.
Children being raped and mutilated without restraint.
Gangs killing the weak and trafficking their organs.
Wars, battles, and physical torture among humans for absurd greed.
Natural phenomena such as earthquakes and floods wreaking havoc without mercy.
Just imagine life without Him...

Is the remaining 20% of Muhammad’s story true, or is the rest also just a lie and fabrication?
Did you know that the number of authentic hadiths is estimated at 4,400, 3,000 of which were narrated by the two sheikhs, Bukhari and Muslim (without repetition)?
And did you know that the total number of hadiths narrated from the Prophet, according to Muslim scholars, exceeds 100,000, most of which are duplicates. If you remove these, you're left with 28,000 hadiths!
This means that the percentage of authentic hadiths does not exceed 16%.
This means that more than 80% of the hadiths they transmitted from their Prophet are lies and fabrications, by their own admission!
This means that lying and fabricating about Muhammad was like drinking water...
If they fabricated and fabricated 80% of everything we have received about Muhammad, would they be incapable of fabricating and fabricating the remaining 20% and inventing Muhammad from nothing?

The harm of ignorance
Religion justifies homophobia, racism, colonialism, patriarchy and xenophobia but it’s the one thing we can’t question. Until we let go of these ancient beliefs that keep us divided we will never see humanity’s full potential. Ignorance is the catalyst of social stagnation

Is it possible to repair my relationship with my parents?
Hey guys. I told my family I don’t really believe in god when I was 16, im 22 now.
Recently had a discussion with them (and I still live at home) about my new relationship as well as my current thoughts on god.
They were heavily concerned I was having sex with my girlfriend (I was, and were always safe). But beyond this they wanted to know how my current thoughts on god were.
Nothing much has changed since 16, I still don’t believe and I can’t say with certainty that there is no god but I damn sure can’t say that there is.
However every conversation with them regarding religion seems to go along with them saying I didn’t look deep enough into it because everyone they know that researched heavily into it has come to be a believer. Then any time I have a regular adult type of minor or major inconvenience it happens to be that I didn’t believe in god and that he would make these issues go away.
Ultimately every conversation with my parents beyond the what did I do at work/school today stretches into a god talk and I can’t help but gain more and more resentment. Is this even repairable?

My mom said that I cant be disrespected because I'm under 18.
Long story short my mom forces me to go to church. I hate it and don't like doing it, so i asked her to let me stay home. She got mad at me and said, "you're only 14 so you cant be disrespected" after i pointed that she was being rude. She, like other Christians, refused to have a logical argument.

Speaker at protest said "The best thing you can do is pray"
It irritated me so much! At the protest today in my small town (I'm in the US) one of the speakers, maybe the main speaker, was going on and on about "The best thing we can do is pray. We need to just pray." etc etc.
This sounds like giving up, rolling over and saying "All is lost." It really annoyed me.
On top of that, I ran into a friend I there who reacted badly when I said I hated that speech for that reason. This friend started going on about how studies several years ago found the efficacy of prayer.* I was just like, UGH!
It's like, okay, if you are ever falsely imprisoned and then put in solitary confinement, okay, I can understand that reciting poetry or praying could be good ways to prevent your mind from falling apart. But are we so willing to give up already??? Ugh.
Help me feel more hopeful please
* Yeah, I looked up that study, which was concluded in 2006. You will not be surprised to hear that they found no effect on the patients from the prayer, except (ha!) that the patients who knew they were being prayed for had a small but statistically significant higher rate of complications after surgery.

How did you become atheists?
I'll start,
When I was in primary school, it was an extremely religious catholic one. They taught us the earth was created 6000 years ago, and that if we didn't believe in god, we'd go straight to hell. One time I was visiting a church in Italy with my family and started praying, this was when I was about 6. My father asked what I was doing, and I told him I was praying, and he stood there for a minute, confused, before telling me god wasn't real. And, being a six year old at the time, I just believed everything he said, and I've been an atheist ever since.
