Started doing Blender (and just 3D in general) for the first time in January and I've been having a blast. Still have a long way to go before I understand how to make things actually look good, art has honestly never been something I'm great at. Geometry Nodes though, now those are fun. I've spent a lot of time programming in the past and Geo-Nodes seem to follow a lot of the same principles.

Trying to push for more photorealism and overall visual quality. Would really appreciate any critiques or suggestions to improve lighting, materials, composition, or anything else you notice.
Thanks in advance!

I actually have seen a lot of them on Pinterest, I really want to make this kind of reflections, mirror and shinny effects using render engine. I want somebody to tell me if it's achievable. It's ok if there is no tutorial.

While listening to the song Flashback, I always felt this strong inspiration in my mind, but I didn’t know how to draw or express it. So I decided to learn 3D animation in Blender to bring that feeling to life.
This isn’t professional work, it’s just something I made in 2 days, but it comes from a place of genuine creativity and learning. Please be kind, and I’d love to hear your thoughts!

The material looks right but when applied on the Ak47 model it does not look right.
I tried rotated and flipping it around.
Any ideas?
Ak47_default_color material is from some youtuber Viper-skins at this website:

Weekend sculpt! 🎨 A dude I sculpted ended up being some kind of cyberpunk tourist with augmented wi-fi antennas. Same procedural materials as in my last post.

I'm really confused, I've look at other posts and can't seem to find a sollution that works for me. Basically my middle mouse would stop working when navigating around in blender whether its looking at a model or zooming in and out. I never experienced this on my old laptop and I recently upgraded to a new pc so I'm not sure whats causing the issue. I'm using a logitech g102 if that info matters.

When I switch from eevee to workbench shaders, my textures disappear. How do you make them stay visible????
Ok I've put screenshots in th comments

So after spending hours of trying to get that transformation constraint to work for a full cycle, ignoring the docs, which says:
When using the rotation of the target as input, whatever the real values are, the constraint will always “take them back” into the (-180 to 180) range.
...
As such, this constraint is not really suited for transforming an object based on a gear’s rotation.
I went a Python function for those pedal rotations that they behave like real pedals and not just stay "flat" based on the main-gear rotation. The function can then be applied as a driver (see video) with the argument of the main-gear rotation. The opposite pedal uses the same driver, just with pedalRotation(var + pi) as it's 180° off.
And as somebody for sure will ask - Here's the script:
import bpy
import math
def easeInOutSine(t):
return -(math.cos(math.pi * t) - 1) / 2
def convertRotation(currentDegrees, trackerFrom, trackerTo, resultFrom, resultTo):
pct = (currentDegrees - trackerFrom) / (trackerTo - trackerFrom)
eased = easeInOutSine(pct)
rotation = resultFrom + eased * (resultTo - resultFrom)
return math.radians(rotation)
def pedalRotation(val):
degrees = math.degrees(val) % 360
# 0-90° => rotate pedal from 20° to -10°
if degrees < 90:
return convertRotation(degrees, 0, 90, 20, -10)
# 90-180° => rotate pedal from -10° to 0°
elif degrees < 180:
return convertRotation(degrees, 90, 180, -10, 0)
# 180-250° => rotate pedal from 0° to 20°
elif degrees < 250:
return convertRotation(degrees, 180, 250, 0, 20)
# 250-360° => just stay at 20°
return math.radians(20)
bpy.app.driver_namespace['pedalRotation'] = pedalRotation
"easeInOutSine" just transforms a value between 0-1 eased (although you barely notice it in here).
"convertRotation" calculates the pedal rotation based on the current rotation and the mapping
"pedalRotation" is the function published to the driver. And where I say: "From the gear rotation 0 to 90 degrees rotate the pedal from 20 degrees to -10" and so on.
And I'm not a Python coder - had even to google how to write "else if" => "elif" - wtf is that :D.
It would be cooler, to chain it by a class with
Transform
->start(20)
->rotateTo(-10, 90)
->rotateTo(0, 180)
->rotateTo(20, 250)
But I think, it's somehow ok like this as well - despite the repetitions on passing args.

This is the mac mini in the kids church, and it should NOT be running cycles this well. Any new blender users looking to start for relatively cheap, this could be the way to go for starters. No render attached because i didn’t have time before I had to leave lmao.

I'm restarting a learning project of building a city for a high altitude view. I'm currently making generic buildings. Aside from keeping them low poly, I could use some beginner-friendly advice on how to get the illusion of details with minimal resources.

So i want to make a Pokemon violet animation, and i can't find a world map model.
I would REALLY appreciate it if someone helps me with this.
Already, thank you.

I want to try to join two images of these characters together and unify the two textures that I tested on them.
