Dyson in the Wild Bought our first Dyson

Post image

Just wanted to share.

We have always had cheaper vacuums. A regular size for the bedroom (carpeted) plus a stick for the hardwood.

We got a Dyson v12 on a Black Friday deal. Wanted to see if they lived up to the hype. Today we vacuumed our bedroom with our old vacuum, then immediately did it again with the Dyson. The photo shows the result.

I bet your old vacuum cleaner was not working correctly. That is an impressive amount of dirt in the Dyson.

Be mindful of the max fill line on the bin. The dirt should always be able to fall below the shroud inside the bin. You do not want to clog your filters quickly or, even worse, get a bunch of large debris stuck in the miniature cyclones.

How do you know when you need to change your filter?

It tells you to clean the filter when it's time.

Our old vacuum filled its much larger canister, so it’s working, just not getting it all. It’s about 6 months old.

And yeah I get it, I just didn’t expect it to fill up so fast.

I will admit to not paying attention to the "max" line on my current (now older) Dyson.

It seems like common sense, and something I should have noticed, but I really have never noticed it or thought it very important. My mind is currently blown, that this is such an important thing that we should have been paying attention to.

So they all come with those big canisters, but you can only actually fill them 1/4-1/5 the way?! Mind blown.
