Yesterday a guy at the park told me that my pull-ups are wrong because I relax too much on the way down. He says that it is correct for me to fully straighten my arms, but that I am lowering myself further below that level and that I risk injuring myself because of that. This surprised me because I always try to straighten up as much as possible when I'm down.

Deadlift Deadlift, help greatly appreciated!

Hello, I am stuck on 150-155kg for 5 Reps and would love to get some advice.

I can't deadlift on socks sadly, as I need to have shoes on for orthopedic reasons. Because of that I also place the bar on mats, otherwise the bar would lay at my ankles (that is too low right?) I also have modified weightlifting shoes for squats, but for Deadlifts they are not really suitable right?

Currently my bodyweight is ~90kg (aiming to loose a few kilos though), my height is 184cm. I currently do Deadlifts once a week and squats on the other leg day.

I lift for 1 1/2 years using mostly upper-lower body split and started with 74kg Bodyweight and 60kg Deadlift.

Any constructive help is greatly appreciated!

Mean comments are not. 😊

Squat Weak Squats - Form Check

Compared to my other lifts, my squats are absolutely terrible.

I think it might be a combination of weak lower back + weak hips? But deadlifts are okayish compared to the squat(more than twice the squat weight), those are also hip driven right?
But maybe it's just the form - that's what I wanted to check with you here. On the video you can see i have a slight arch, is that a problem?

I've starred to feel uncertain about the depth I get on my squats. I don't believe I have an issue with hip flexibility, so I'm wondering if I need to drop the weight. Weight is 105kg, M42/84kg.

It felt good in terms of no pain and I felt most of the tension in my muscle. But wanted to check to see what you all thought before moving up in weight. The weight doesn't feel particularly heavy.

Apologies I know the angle isn't perfect but the best I can do.

Clearly getting near my limit on these.

Am I wobbling around too much on the push up or is that okay? Lower back is feeling a little niggled after so having some doubts.

Deadlift Deadlift form check

This is me lifting 110kg for some reps. When I increase the weight on my deadlift, I feel strain in my lower back disproportionately more than in my legs. I have relatively long legs compared to my torso and people have recommended me to try sumo. I'd rather keep on with conventional deadlift however.

Should I simply do more reps on lower weight to fix my form before going up?

Failed my PR squat pretty badly. Not sure what went wrong but I felt so unstable at the bottom of the lift.

Deadlift First time pulling sumo, any tips?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey guys, I've only pulled conventional and today was my first time ever trying sumo. It feels good but awkward at the same time. I feel like I'm built better for sumo and once I get the form down it'll be good.

The main issues I have right now is pulling off the floor, it feels super awkward since I'm not used to the stance. Also the mid portion, my knees start to buckle a bit. But once I get past that portion the lockout feels effortless.

Any tips?

Got really good feedback last time, would love for the community to give me some pointers. I dropped weights to work on form- currently doing 3 sets 10 reps at 80kg from a previous 5-6-8rep progressive overloading (120kg-110kg-90kg)

Squat Bar tipping down during squat

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Last few weeks of a Smolov program. I stopped using squat shoes because it was inconvenient to take them on/off. Now I use thin, flat-soled shoes. I also started putting my hands in a narrower stance for no particular reason.

These past few weeks, the bar has been tipping down on the right at the bottom of my squats. I found that the bar was directly centered on my traps during some of these but even when corrected, the bar tends to tip downward and my hips shift slightly to the right.

Any help with this is appreciated, I have three more videos from this session, and I may have more examples from previous sessions.
