Like what the fuck is the point??? The slide is a SITUATIONAL move, Chop is a REGULAR ASS ATTACK YOU USE WHILE SHIELDING. I fuckin think it's called chop anyways and I don't fucking care. The slide is an APPROACH MOVE. YOU USE IT ONCE PER INTERACTION. THATS WHY RISE PUT IT ON Y+B. AND CHOP ON Y BECAUSE GUESS WHAT THE REGULAR ATTACK IS ON THE SINGLE BUTTON. But for some god forsaken reason, wilds decided that the REGULAR ATTACK should be on two buttons WHICH DONT REGISTER THE RIGHT INPUT HALF THE TIME ANYWAYS AND JUST MAKE ME SLIDE WHICH THEN JUST MIGHT MAKE ME GET HIT (which kinda doesn't matter with the low damage monsters do in wilds) BUT STILL

If there's a way to switch these two moves feel free to call me out, but please at least tell me how if you do so.

I was so excited to hear that theme in the context of a real battle (I haven't played either game that it appears in) but capcom decided "no, we're going to 🌟wilds-ify🌟the fucking thing. Hope you enjoy that." And now it sounds so much more like some of the other boring fucking battle themes this game has. Yes Rise made some changes too, but Wilds has scrubbed away basically all of its identity aside from the song structure. It's not unique anymore. It doesn't stand out. Was already disappointed by this games music, as well as blue balling me on the rotten vale theme, but this is where I just start getting mad. Is it bad now? No. It's still a fine track, but stop trying to fix what isn't broken. If they pull some shit like this for Lagiacrus it's over. And I can fully imagine them doing that because it "isn't modern enough" yeah okay man.

This isn't my only complaint with Wilds tracks either. Barely any of the songs in this game took up space in my mind for more than 30 minutes. One of the better themes that I've listened to in full, Rey Dau's, hardly even fits the monster its assigned to. They really just sprinkled in the occasional quiet electric guitar and thought that was good enough for their thunder storm railgun dragon. You want a good electrifying theme? Astalos is right there. A 9 year old game did it just fine, what's Wilds' excuse?

All of the old monsters in MHGU suck complete ass to fight. All of them. The raptors, Rathain, underground monsters, and Rathalos. All of them have the same mechanics that lead to them feely insanely generic and boring to fight, mainly instant attacks and their turning. I know that most instant attacks/charges in this game don't just come out whenever, and usaully happens after the monster turns to you, but thats what makes these fight so goddamn ass.

The entire fight is you constantly staffing around their mechanic ass turns and instant attacks to get your hit in, and it is so. DAMN BORING. All of these fights play out the EXACT same and do nothing but feel cheap and waste all of your time. Rathalos is one of the worst fucking offenders of this. He has a plethora of moves he can do after his turns, including instant charges, making you do guessing as to what he'll do so you can have your opening. Most of hit attacks have bad hit boxes, initiate flight, or both making you have to constantly strafe around him and bait charges or wait for him to come down to the ground. All this fight does is waste your fucking time while being as unfun as possible and I feel this way about all the old monster designs.

Coming from World, I thought it was just me who couldn't get into the turn based feeling of old MH combat. I thought this was the case until I got to the actually fucking good monsters, like Nargacuga, Lagoacrus, Mitsitsune, Seriegios, etc. These monsters still have the turn based feel with heavy emphasis on positioning. And they do this WITHOUT instant charges, mechanical turns, broken hitboxes, and time wasting fights. I actually really enjoyed these fights and I realized it wasn't the old MH combat that I didn't like, its just that the design of the old monsters fucking suck. They aren't fun at ALL and are an extremely lazy way to to create the turn-based combat the monsters are known for. Rathalos sucks ass. The only old monster that comes close is Yian Garunga, he fucking sucks too but at least he doesn't fly for minutes on end.

Listen I don't usually like being this negative but my god I really don't understand how some of these people got this far into the game.

On my last Zoh Shia investigion, opened it up to pubs because why not I was starting to get bored of solo play anyway. First few minutes go by just fine and I'm just vibing.. until Zoh Shia rages for the first time. Not even 2 minutes after these two guys who couldnt take 2 seconds to use a mega potion cart within a few seconds of each other from a fireball because these two ranged boys think they're fucking invincible or something with their discerning dodge that they can't even time right.

I take a look at the mission counter and luckily one of these guys had insurance so we're only sitting at 1 cart. Me and the CB guy keep going and I decide to let them stay for now as I thought maybe they just got unlucky. Normally it's a "whatever" moment as it just happens sometimes and that's that. What genuinely pissed me off was this other guy who dishes out the third cart of the run by pulling one of the most brain dead plays I have ever seen. These two guys that JUST carted HAVENT EVEN fucking returned from camp yet when Zoh starts charging his flame ring attack. I move out of the way and then I'm forced to watch as this charge blade guy who isn't even in axe mode absolutely SPAMMING sword attack while Zoh charges his fire RIGHT ABOVE him before cremating this guy into the third cart.

Zoh Shia didn't even make to the final phase and I've decided for the first time to purge the entire squad. After about 200 hrs into Wilds so far this is deadass the first time I've had to whip out a farcaster just so I didn't receive the same treatment while I was figuring out how to kick these buffoons. Normally I wouldn't be so upset as with so many new players it's kind of expected for there to be a button masher or two but I started this quest in a VET lobby for a reason guys. I at least expect most of you to know what the dodge/block button does.

After using the GS, i discovered how much of a cuck I was using this weak ass weapon. GS Offsets are so forgiving and easy to access. While in Hammer, you need to "plonk, plonk swing!" to get it, and it's so fucking strict for some reason, the active frames on the offset are so fast. Sometimes on GS, I just press Y+B immediately without charging and it gives me an offset on aggressive monsters. Not to mention the follow up on a perfectly timed offset on GS gives you a follow up, that has an option to go to TCS. While in hammer, yeah you can go to mighty charge, but man, accessing offset is hard enough that you rarely risk doing it and just do your job and bonk the head.

GS also has block and has power clash that again gets followed up with a TCS. It's like it has everything lol. Even Switch Axe's offset is easier to access too, not to mention its counter during sword mode. Capcom I swear to God, those hammer buffs better be something good. Doing the arena rathian makes me want to peel my skin off, I can't hit her when she's flying and running around.

I'm replaying risebreak on my Xbox and I just want to get to sunbreak. Why do I have to do these idiotic rampages, how much of a moron do you have to be to keep them mandatory even after sunbreak released? Just give me a skip option Crapcom.

Just failed my first mandatory rampage with "final gate destroyed". Ffs I don't want to learn rampage mechanics, even a second wasted on figuring out this idiotic bs is 1 second too much. Probably going to put this game down and never touch it again. I'm not jumping through fire hoops to get to Sunbreak just because Capcom devs have severe brain damage. Fuck base rise, it's even worse than I remembered.

Dude Ive been playing this game for a month. Been playing the franchise since Tri and unlike a lot of gatekeepers, I enjoy focus mode and all the other features that remove any jank from the fights. Tempered Rathalos and Tempered Mizutsune quest posted. BET. I love it! I go in with Mizu fighting gear and I see everyone go after Rathalos. Not a fucking problem. I'll chip away at Mizu so that when they catch up to me at Mizu it'll be a piece of cake. I've played 352 quests and I havent gotten the 100 multiplayer quests achievement (it is the last one I am going for) and buddy its HARDER THAN THE FUCKING FISH ONE WITH THESE SCRUBS!

ive been playing both wilds and GU lately and the staggering difference i see between how the two games handle palicos is insane. in GU you can have 2 palicos which can have multiple types or classes. you can customize them, give them specific roles etc. THIS IS GENIUS. I WANT THIS CAPCOM.

This being a rage sub I hope no one takes this to mean that i think the game is bad or youre stupid for liking it or whatever, but man this game is kinda bumming me out! I am a huge World hater, have been since day 1. My expectations were kind of in the dirt for Wilds, and while theres a lot of stuff I like more than World, I cant help but feel like the football still got pulled out from under me.

I kinda don't care for the reasoning that this game is made for beginners, It is not a fix to think "well its ok that I'm not having fun because this game is made for first timers". It just makes me feel like they dont make these games for me anymore. Which kinda bums me out! This series has meant a lot to me, and I still adore the older ones and Rise to a lesser extent for being something wildly different. But Wilds feels like they have put the game under a belt sander and all thats left is the fights that I largely find underwhelming. I don't care about the monsters dying too fast or not hitting very hard, but the game surrounding that is undeniably simplified within an inch of its life.

What is it that makes me continue to pop open Dos or P3rd and try stuff, that just isn't here? Is it the heavily restrictive skill system? Is it that I get showered with rewards before the fight even ends? Is it the fact that I can make an artian weapon that outclasses everything else with a fraction of the cost? I dunno!! And before anyone says to wait for the expansion, I don't think waiting 18 months and another 50 bucks for an already $70 game to become more than a swift weekend is a good salve! Something that used to hook me with this series is missing, and I'm not sure exactly what it is. They made a game that millions more people are enjoying, which is great for them! They just completely lost me. Just wondering if anyone else feels the same way, or has their own thoughts as series vets!

I hate how some people read absolute wild stuff into basically nothing. The worst "lore" of that kind if Fatalis regenerating. There has never been an actual statement ingame that's not just fluff or armor descriptions. WHICH AREN'T LORE TEXTS. They are just myths and tales to make the armor seems more legendary and infamous. Every high tier armor has that.

The cake took someone today who claimed Zoh Shia somehow confirms Fatty regeneration and that the armor devours its user and turns him. WHAT? No it doesn't, there is not a single piece of reliable proof for that. It's stated ingame as canon, that wylk helps guardians heal and also is the source of their energy. That's how Zoh Shia heals and regenerates the crystals. How do you make that weird connection to Fatalis?

I understand theorizing and sometimes trying to piece things together. But let's face it, there isn't much there that's reliably confirmed, much less all the Fatalis stuff. And yet people use words like "confirmed" and have the flimsiest arguments.

Keep mighty cleave, keep the charge step, bring back the charge attacks from world. I say bring back power charge as well or bring rise mechanic with the two forms. Honey moon phase is over, new playstyle is not fun.

Hammer has always been about those juicy snipes to the head. This new playstyle is the equivalent of taking true charge slash away from greatsword. To be honest, even though I love mighty charge, I would rather trade mighty charge to have either of the previous 2 iterations of hammer back.

Why give us this offset when you could have taken water strike from rise and gave us that as our counter. Water strike was an absolutely good direction for hammer and idk why it was taken away to be replaced with this offset.

Ive played hammer in GU, World, and rise. Wilds is definitely the worst out of the last few titles. Also the stun values feel like doo doo water now too. I am not trying to be toxic but this aint it chief.

Deep Breathing WHY DID YOU MAKE IT HARD FOR US SQUAD AND LOBBY BUDDIES GET A SIMPLE QUEST FOR ZOH SIA OR MIZUTSUNE!? I thought after the story of Zoh Sia and Mizutsune they could at least be readily available on either event or optional quest so that we could farm the materials. Especially their Orbs and that Annoying Black ass that we need to break Zoh Sia wing arms just to get. Yet, we need to have an RNG INVESTIGATION THAT FILLS FASTER THAN MY COLLEGE DEBT. What's more, the investigations needs to be in a specific period looking at you Zoh Sia just to have a frikcing chance of it appearing! My Squad can't even hunt together on Zoh Sia and have to take chances with RanDumbs. Pls release a quest where we can take the same quest! Investigations are hard to join in other SOS or secure when your buddies live in different time zones!!

I’m sns main and usually relying on movent and positioning a lot. The thing is in mhwilds the monster’s movement is connected and fluid; while recovery after these motions: attack cancel, superman dive, potions, rolling, and etc. although “seems natural”, but it’s like watching a friggin dunce slowly taking a moment to express their toil and groan and whining. Like rolling the hunter groans “ugh!”, dodge cancel “ugh!”, superman dive “ugh!”. i would rather have a chugging potion pose than this stupid bullshit. 🤦🏻‍♂️ It’s like fighting in a mud the whole time what the fuck…

They love LS wayyyy to much man what the fuck is that shit. A switch skill that replaces your default special sheath so you don't need any wirebugs to use it, has a counter that is brain-dead automatic, can maintain the guage after counter, hyperarmor, damage numbers nearly the size of yo mama holy shit. Base LS is already busted with 0 punishment ISS spam and multiple ways to level up your guage. Don't forget that you can just roll away after special sheathing so no commitment whatsoever. After starting sunbreak I was really excited to see what new skills CB and Lance got and turns out they're not even comparable to the fart of the LS.

And as a lance main, it is sad to see they gave LS the harvest moon skill which locks you in a medium sized circle that can enhance your counter attacks instead of Lance, a fucking tank weapon with a dedicated counter skill.

Unrelated but LS also got a skill that gives you hyperarmor in your first draw attack. They gave that to LS, arguably one of the last weapon that needs it.
