Discussion Who I'd prefer at each position of need

As the title says, obviously the best player in each position can be had, but these are all players we have the chance to get. Obviously I'd love the best player in every position, but this is what I would want based on when we'd pick these positions

  • LB/EDGE: Jalon Walker, Que Robinson, Barrett Carter, Donovan Ezeiruaku, Kaimon Rucker
  • WR: Tre Harris, Isaiah Bond, Jayden Higgins, Tez Johnson, Savion Williams
  • TE: Terrance Ferguson, Luke Lachey
  • OL: Cameron Williams, Marcus Mbow, Hollin Pierce
  • CB: Cobee Bryant, Denzel Burke, Darien Porter
  • S: Xavier Watts, Kevin Winston Jr., Jonas Sanker, Andrew Mukuba, Billy Bowman Jr.
  • RB: Skattebo, Trevor Etienne, Brashard Smith, Kyle Monangai
  • DL: Aeneas Peebles, Deon Walker, Tyleik Williams

LMK what you guys think!

Edit: don't just drive-by downvote because you don't like a player i listed, tell me who and why! interested to see everyone's opinion! Im not the GM so don't treat it like the absolute list

Discussion Need a sticker

I live in MD and for the past 10 years I have been the only panthers fan in annapolis. I do get to see on average 1 to 2 fans that visit from VA but that’s it. I want to put a sticker up in my local bar 6”x6” is a rough size. However all I can find are car decals and full on wall art that is much too large. So I’m leaning towards making a custom one. If I’m doing all that I would like it to be unique over the “normal” logo. Hoping someone here has found a picture that stands out and looks good. Thanks for your help, will post the final product when I get it in.

Discussion Would(Should?) Carolina Trade Back If Shedeur is still available?

Reports(and betting markets) say the Saints, who have pick 9, want to pick Shedeur. Carolina holds the number 8 pick.

Would it make sense to call up a QB hungry team and try to either get a Kings Ransom(If it's someone like the Steelers at 21, tons of draft capital you could get moving back) or a decent number of picks(Colts at 14, could likely net a couple of 2nds/3rds this year and next year)? We'd not only would get picks back, but we'd also screw over the Saints from *potientially* getting a Franchise QB.

Of course we might screw ourselves out of a top DE/WR, so it come down if Additional Picks/Screwing over a divisional Rival outweighs who is still potientially available.

[Joe Person] Edge rushers in the building in Carolina: Texas A&M's Shemar Stewart, Boston College's Donovan Ezeiruaku and LSU's Bradyn Swinson all were in for top-30 visits with the Panthers today, per league sources.

What do you think the plan at Safety is?

Right now we have Tre'von Moehrig, Nick Scott, and Demani Richardson on the roster, and that's it. Moehrig will probably be our strong safety, although he's played free safety well before. Scott and Richardson are best suited in backup roles, although both had to start at times last year due to injuries.

We could be counting on getting a Safety in the draft, but the way the board falls I am skeptical. The best safeties this year are Starks and Emmanwori, and they will probably be gone in the bottom half of round one. The next man up is Xavier Watts, and I really doubt he's going to fall to 57 (but I would love it if he did).

Andrew Mukuba should be there in the second, but he is generally thought of as more of a third round prospect, and needs to bulk up if he wants to be effective in a full time role. There are a couple of other third round prospects that are probably on our radar.

Sebastian Castro is one, but he's older (which we don't seem to like) and is at best a run defender. Another is Kevin Winston, Jr., who I kind of think is a real possibility. He has nice size, can cover Tight Ends, and is great in run support. If he's the plan, the Moehrig is definitely moving back to Free Safety. Winston is also recovering from an ACL tear, but should be ready when Training Camp rolls around.

I find it hard to believe that we're content to run with our current room before the draft; we almost have to take a Safety with how things stand now.

There are still a few Free Agents out there, but I haven't heard any thing about us pursuing them. Maybe we're waiting to see who we can get in the draft and also who gets cut in Training Camp? I don't know, but I'm sure we're not done there yet.

What are your thoughts on this position? Any late round draft crushes you have that you think we might take a flyer on? I'm really curious about this, to me it's the most obvious hole in our roster.

Discussion Draft Day Scenario

Post image

So, after already making their first pick, they call us. They want our pick to jump ahead of the Saints and lock down Shedeur.

The Offer: They give us: -Their 2025 2nd round pick -Their 2025 3rd round pick -Their 2026 1st round pick -Their 2027 1st round pick

What do we do? Would you accept, decline, or counter? If you counter give an example from a qb needy team only.

(They = any Qb needy team ahead of us)

I'm starting to realize Tyler Warren is not a option.

Sad day for me. I really wanted this dude, but we keep adding bodies at TE. My dream is just a dream. I tried to speak it into existence, but clearly the signs are pointing at defense.

Will Johnson is next on my list so hopefully we draft him if we go defense. It would be nice to have 2 lockdown DBs.

Analysis Fringe/Likely top 50 picks we have shown interest in and what it means

So foreword rankings are per NFLMockDraftDatabase Census Big Board, and by interest I'm counting reported meetings at Bowls, Combine, Pro Days, Top 30's, and invites to Local Day. I'll go up to #75.

  • Graham (DL) - #5
  • Tet (WR) - #11
  • Jalon (3-4 OLB/ILB) - #10
  • Shemar (3-4 OLB/DE) - #14
  • Mykel (3-4 OLB/DE) - #15
  • Golden (WR) - #19
  • Starks (FS) - #21
  • Emm (SS) - #23
  • Nolen (DL) - #29
  • Ezei (3-4 OLB) - #32
  • Conerly (OT) - #36
  • Amos (CB) - #41
  • Ersery (OT) - #43
  • Princely (3-4 OLB) - #54
  • Porter (CB) - #58
  • Mbow (IOL/RT) - #62
  • Swinson (3-4 OLB) - #67
  • Skattebo (RB) - #70
  • Josaiah Stewart (3-4 OLB/ Edge) - #72
  • Demetrius Knight (?This one I wasn't completely sure on tbh but USC guy) (LB) - #73
  • Jaylin Noel (WR) - #74

Positions of Need per this (No order): IDL, OLB/DE, RT, SAF, CB, WR, LB... RB?

My first take-away from this is that we have a lot and I mean a lot of guys we've thrown resources at in the dead zone between our picks, #8 and #57 respectively. This could be interpreted in two ways, either we move around a lot with 57 and our supply of day 3 picks, or we trade back given the general dropoff of talent and equivalence of prospect quality after Graham. I'm leaning towards it being trading back, obviously people will say "someone needs to trade up", but GMs talk a lot and throw feelers and given how many resources we have used on meeting with guys in this dead zone it makes sense. Couple that with how many positions on our roster require moldable youth talent, I find it hard to see them go through some of their day 3 picks to go from 57 to the 30/40's.

Another interesting to note here is that, there are no Hairston, Green, or Pearce Jr. to be found as of right now on our reported interest list. If the hearsay is true, it seems that they care deeply about personal background (and how much a guy loves football) when it comes to high round picks, even though there are multiple other similar caliber OLB/DE's (Ezei, Mykel, Shemar) and CB's (Porter/Amos) they have shown interest in.

Not a crazy thing, but I really like how much they seem invested in keeping the RT position strong in a post-Moton world (if it happens), we haven't really seen this much care or multi-year planning for the OL in a long time. (Keep a strength, a strength) It also comes back to the offensive motto of "We will run the damn ball down your throat and there is nothing you can do about it" as we saw with the Rico signing.

Keep Pounding!

Jalon Walker Alternatives

feels like Jalon is the top priority for a lot of fans. Something that needs to be considered, though: what if he's not there? Walker's stock seems to be improving by the day and there's a scenario where Jacksonville takes him at 5 or Vegas takes him at 6. What would the alternative plan be? Trade back? take McMillan? take Warren? take another edge rusher? I'd love to hear some thoughts

Trading Down in the Draft

Post image
20 Upvotes

We have one of those draft picks where it kind of doesn't make a difference if we pick a couple picks lower, because as the pick number gets higher, the care for talent decreases and the care for positional need increases.

I know we are probably going to stay at 8 and get Jalon Walker. But, I really like Jihad Campbell. He should be available in the 16-24 range. We could trade down with a team that needs more talent, and we get a couple of late round picks in return. If you come to think of it, we don't need talent right now. We need depth on defense. Everywhere.
