McConnell's hands bruised so much in 2020 that they turned almost entirely black. Unfortunately, he's still a Senator. 🫤

186

u/doocurly Feb 25 '25

And apparently unkillable. He fell twice in the Capitol Building two weeks ago and finally announced he won't seek reelection last week "due to health issues". I hate the guy but it's nice to see that he's too frail to keep going.

45

u/PotentialSteak6 Feb 25 '25

7

u/SirLanceQuiteABit Feb 26 '25

That makes one of us

8

u/grumblesmurf Feb 26 '25

They're still further away than most of the world (not only the US) prefers. Remember him for being the guy who gave you this russian puppet government.

2

u/DrakonILD Feb 26 '25

You know, if he wasn't such an incomprehensibly terrible person, he'd be kind of a cute and sweet-looking old man. Like, just look at that smile in the last few frames.

That's how they getcha.

21

u/bwaredapenguin Feb 25 '25

Don't forget the multiple "freezing" incidents last year where his brain got stuck in a boot loop.

18

u/katmom1969 Feb 25 '25

He traded his mortality for power in his deal with the devil.

16

u/nospendnoworry Feb 25 '25

we know he isn't going to heaven, but maybe the devil doesn't want him there either... so he's stuck here on earth as a melted turtle

5

u/raccooninthegarage22 Feb 25 '25

It is insane that we have so many congresspeople who are this old

5

u/Crazy-4-Conures Feb 25 '25

Only the good die young.

2

u/Goodwine Feb 26 '25

That "but" is an "and"

u/One-Industry8608 Feb 25 '25

Yeah if he had turned any blacker he wouldn't have let himself vote

3

u/hoosierhiver Feb 25 '25

he retired

6

u/2cookieparties Feb 25 '25

He announced he won’t seek re-election but he’s still senator

2

u/walkstofar Feb 25 '25

So you are saying they now match his heart.

2

u/_-syzygy-_ Feb 25 '25

they temporarily matched his heart

2

u/WombatBeans Feb 25 '25

I’m convinced that Mitch McConnell is a reanimated corpse. He drowned in a swamp, was there for at least a month someone fished his ass out and brought him back to life (mostly, sort of) and decided to keep letting him hobble around being a senator for reasons beyond my comprehension. No way that dude is actually alive though.

3

u/Goddess_of_Carnage Feb 25 '25

McConnell is the least troublesome Republican in Washington. Full stop.

Hell, thinking back—Paul Ryan seems downright dreamy compared to the nightmare we’re in.

2

u/Mammalbopbop Feb 25 '25

Not for long!!

2

u/Alternative_Algae_31 Feb 25 '25

Deals with Satan will do that to ya.

As black as his heart, bless his soul.

1

u/Cptn_BenjaminWillard Feb 25 '25

To match his soul.

1

u/Aman_Syndai Feb 25 '25

Turtles are very hearty creatures, especially the kentucky variety.

1

u/MsTrippp Feb 25 '25

Hes finally voting against some trump nominees since he retired, it’s infuriating

1

u/darth-skeletor Feb 25 '25

That was just his soul showing through

1

u/ConstantSelection605 Feb 25 '25

He will be black by spring!!

1

u/dorkstafarian Feb 25 '25

Because he fell and he used them to break his fall.

461

u/batmanpjpants Feb 25 '25

When I saw the Trump photo the first thing I shouted out to my husband was “didn’t the Queen’s hand look like that 2 days before she died!”

89

u/Gruejay2 Feb 25 '25

Hers was quite a lot worse at that point, to be fair, but he's definitely on the way out, I think.

So... I was thinking about that the other day...

Vance has been soo quiet. Too quiet. 😅 I'm genuinely in fear of what he brings next.

26

u/AdamZapple1 Feb 25 '25

the furniture is probably the most scared.

9

u/serrated_edge321 Feb 25 '25

Not a single conversation about couches will ever be the same in his presence again. 🤭

No. I am. I’m the most scared!

2

u/AdamZapple1 Feb 25 '25

3

u/ExoticInitiativ Feb 25 '25

I’m a loveseat dammit

2

u/TheDVSBstrd Feb 25 '25

Wonder how close they watch him while he is browsing at a furniture store?

2

u/AdamZapple1 Feb 26 '25

i imagine its a lot closer than when you or I go in. and those sales people are like flies on poop.

3

u/Similar-Breadfruit50 Feb 25 '25

The crazy MAGAs won’t follow him. He has a brown wife and he doesn’t have Trump’s charisma.

Vance doesn't have cult power.

7

u/hochizo Feb 25 '25

He does. But without the blind adoration that Trump has somehow managed to build, he won't be nearly as effective at getting crazy shit done. There's something about Trump that fully unites the right. Without him, they'll splinter (see: what happened when they attempted to move on from him after January 6).

u/bikedaybaby Feb 25 '25

His is also visibly covered in beige makeup, though. You can tell by the weird greenish hue that the bruise is probably purple, but with a beige sheen.

Source: I have covered body parts in makeup before to hide scars.

Edit: Holy shit has this man not heard of lotion? He’s ashy af

8

u/lolihull Feb 25 '25

Terrible colour matching from the makeup artist too 💅

4

u/SnooRobots116 Feb 25 '25

3

u/Stunning-Discount224 Feb 25 '25

Well she was dying of bone cancer at that point so likely had circulation issues

3

u/TenTwoMeToo Feb 25 '25

I had the same thought!! Her's were dark purple, but bruise-like nonetheless!

2

u/That_Account6143 Feb 25 '25

Aren't we all?

2

u/KareemOWheat Feb 25 '25

I'm conflicted on this. On the one hand fuck Trump, but on the other hand Vance would be a much more competent and effective potus. And given how closely he's tied to project 2025, that could end up being much more of a disaster than 4 years of the current manchild

But on the other other hand, Vance doesn't have the cult glamour Trump somehow willed into being, so Republicans might not roll over as much for a Vance presidency

Really a "would you rather be kicked in the shin or kneed in the groin" kind of problem

3

u/Morrigoon Feb 25 '25

But an extended Vance run would reduce the visibility of the Orange one’s offspring, reducing the likeliness of a succession of them.

3

u/agnostic_science Feb 25 '25

Vance won't have the cult of personality though. And once trump croaks there will be a massive rush to grab power in republican circles. It will probably create a lot of factions and cause fracturing.

2

u/shovelly-joe Feb 25 '25

Am I going to hell for snort laughing?

6

u/Miserable-Ad-7947 Feb 25 '25

honestly, i prefer the stupid nazi in charge, him dead will only means he will be replaced by a smarter nazi. wich would be way worse.

33

u/Correct_Tourist_4165 Feb 25 '25

The MAGA party is a cult though. And the key to a cult is that they worship one person. Not a belief system, or a book, or a holy ghost. Just one living person, who will eventually die, and with it the cult.

Who could possibly take over the cult? JD Vance is unlikely to carry on after Trump. Elon can't be president. Vivek is a brown person, which doesn't fly in the MAGA party.

Trump emerged on the escalator that fateful day to lead a dying demographic in America on its final farewell tour. It's unlikely to find another leader before it craters.

9

u/memorex00 Feb 25 '25

There’s gonna be a clusterfuck within the MAGA party when Donnie is gone. Too many roosters in the henhouse.

4

u/Correct_Tourist_4165 Feb 25 '25

I for one will be ready with popcorn and money in hand to donate to any candidates who egg it on.

3

u/sozcaps Feb 25 '25

4

u/abbyb12 Feb 25 '25

Sadly, they are deluded enough still to think any option is better than a Democrat.

Plus, they're currently overseeing the Federal Election system and the Postal Service which means free and fair elections are a thing of the past.

3

u/Correct_Tourist_4165 Feb 25 '25

No doubt they believe any alternative to a democrat is preferable.

But they have to agree on that alternative first, which they will never agree on. They will eat each other alive for years before they can come to an agreement on who should carry on the cult, and by then the old MAGAs will have died, and the young MAGAs will lose the energy and go back to not voting. Which couldn't happen fast enough.

Assuming we don't have another pandemic, they will have to defend their work in 2 years, and then in 4 years. And there are too many people in this country to fool all the time. They can fool em some of the time, but not all the time.

5

u/cyndina Feb 25 '25

I agree with this as a first blush opinion on it. But I think his passing would create a massive power vacuum that would, ultimately, fracture his base. He has too much ego to name a true successor.

That's one way to stimulate the economy.

6

u/pjerky Feb 25 '25

The problem is his replacement ain't any better.

5

u/Open-Mousse-1665 Feb 26 '25

Trump has one thing they don’t - the undying and undivided adulation of his base. He could shoot their granny on 5th avenue and they’d justify it to themselves somehow. But somehow I doubt the rest of them are going to have that level of support. Especially once they start fighting and backstabbing over who’s in charge now.

2

u/794309497 Feb 26 '25

Worse. Vance is everything Trump is, but smarter.

3

22

u/apk5005 Feb 25 '25

He doesn’t have a cult following and congress and the SCOTUS may not feel like they “owe” him anything.

I would expect to see more backbone because I am sure there would be republicans who see themselves in his seat in 2028.

5

u/katmom1969 Feb 25 '25

Agreed. The fights will begin for who will get the presidential nod once Vance takes over. They will sabotage him so he will be forced to primary.

I do think it’s really possible that if trump dies in office they will in fact weekend at Bernie’s him until the truth gets leaked, not because of it just being deceitful but because they spread that Biden was weekended at Bernies’ed so much that they believe it happened and beleive it would be fair.

She was 96. I do hope that Don-old deteriorates quickly, though.
