Pokemon had been making more trade evolutions not require trading starting in (I think) SwSh, so why still lock a bunch of pokemon to trading between versions?

I know the obvious answer is money, but it there any other reason?

Started playing Red and Blue version when I was 11. Have owned every main series game since then. Have battled competitively for nearly 20 years.

For the first time ever, I’m not excited for the next main game, Z-A.

Trying to figure out what recent game for the switch to start a new save file on, and just don’t feel the excitement anymore. 😕

I searched a Pokemon name to make sure I spelled it correctly and there was an animated pokeball moving in the bottom right corner of my phone screen, I pressed it and it said “Catch Pokemon by searching their names.” It involves the original 151 Pokemon… I thought it was interesting and wanted to share it.

Pokemon has been doing a pattern on basing new regions on European countries (UK for Galar, France for Kalos, and Spain for Paldea). So its obvious that they are gonna make a region based on either Germany or Italy, since Japan has a close relationship with the two countries (not including the WWII times) : Japanese people love Italy because of lyric and classical music as well as cuisines and Japan & Germany had cultural exchange with Germans helping in the modernisation during the Meiji period.

So that brings the topic of this debate: which country has a higher chance of Pokemon based a new region off of it: Germany or Italy?

There are plenty of characters that are considered villains or we just hate, there are plenty of examples like Mindy, Incineroar for VGC players, Whitneys Miltank, and many others. But the question remains, who is the main villain the most hated or just the most evil one.

Jay thinking ash is the coolest trainer ever. The trtrio being fired and now working at amaze all. A kitcuff chasing ash's riolu around theirs much fun to be had here! And plus Lark isn't like the traditional rivals as rather than being an over confident douche or a cute kid trying to be you he actually has no confidence at all and is desperately trying to please the corporate suit who lifted him out of poverty.

We could have either Tripp or elna as compaians. The running gag of ash's kawil line panicking at the first sign of a psychic type. The lamla line that I forget the name of being a unique challenge to train in the fact because rather than being too stubborn or cowardly or emotional it's too pacfictic to fight anything.

I never played Pokémon black or if I did, I surprisingly don't remember. I'm in my early thirties and remember Emerald the most as it's the game I absolutely adored and sank tons of hours into. Now that I'm digging back into my GBA and 3DS I'm looking to play Pokémon Black and/or black 2 but unclear if it's necessary to play the first or if it's seemingly ok to just get black 2 and start from there?

Also looking into soul silver. I faintly remember playing it but not really so will likely do that next!

For what it's worth, I just got my OG Emerald's battery replaced so I'll likely be sinking time into that nostalgia first lol

Dragonite: I just like this Pokemon's look and tanky-ness. This thing usually eats super effectives, and can fire back one-shotting the target.

Machamp: Imo, any 90's kid will like Machamp, because he is Goro-esque.....Also, Revenge.

Charizard: Charmander was the first Pokémon I ever used. The reason I played through red in the late 90's was to see Charizard lol.....Balanced Pokémon imo.

Duraludon: Steel Dragon is an interesting typing, and he looks like a skyscraper dragon.....I mean.....

Kingdra: After I fought Clair, immediately went hunting for a Kingdra myself.

Sceptile: He is really fast, and mega can change the game vs a fire type.

What 6 Pokémon would you put up against a gauntlet of every gym & elite four-esque trainer, across all gens?

Hi! I’m planning to tell my suitor we're official soon, and I want to do it in a fun, creative way based on his hobby — collecting Pokémon cards.

I originally thought of giving him a custom Pokémon card with our “official” date on it, but I feel like that idea’s been done. Now, I’m thinking of making a Pokémon Trainer Certificate (either framed or wallet-sized, like a PVC card).

I’m not really a Pokémon expert, so I’d love to hear your ideas or suggestions! I know his favorite Pokémon, but I won’t mention them just in case he sees this post 😂

Ok y'all, I'm currently doing a run on emerald and I have a really important question. Who would count as an honorary pink pokemon and why? I'm between Spoink and Lileep. Or do y'all have any other suggestions? Currently I have a Whismur and a Skitty on my team, on my way to the fourth gym.

I have a problem that I need clothes, but they either don't fit or I don't like the look. So now I tought about it and it would be amazing to have some nice pokemon themed clothes. The only requirement is that it needs to have shipping to Belgrade- Serbia. Also worth noting that my favourite pokemon are the eeveelutions (yes all of them), jirachi, mew, mimikyu and mawile.

People who know Pokémon boosters better than me, how many different aerodactyl cards (different face variants) are there across all drops (I know it’s a big ask)? Aero is my fav Pokémon and I want to set out to collect all versions if possible, I don’t care about grading, just the different art. If anyone has an idea, that would be so cool!

I'm back at my Pokémon Hyperfocus and wanted to play/try something new and found Pokémon Infinite Fusion and absolutely loving it but got curious and wanted to add some more to my playlist, just installed Pokémon Reborn and was wondering if there's anymore i should try?

Should say that i also installed/tried Insurgence and it ran absolutely horrendous and after giving it an honest try i decided i could not play it.

What i like about Pokémon romhack games.
- Fun/Unique Pokémon.
- Character customization.
- Good Story.
- Preferably a longer game.
- I don't like messing with emulators since they always break the game, corrupt game files or just don't run good most of the time so i REALLY like the launcher that comes with Reborn and Fusion.

Any reccomedations from you guys?

Hello. After doing some thinking this is my speculation on how Pokémon Champions is going to work or at least how I want it to. I think we are going to have a "Sandbox" and a "Competitive" mode. The Sandbox mode just being the official version of Showdown where you can use any Pokémon and choose your rule set Singles, Doubles, VGC ect and Competitive being Pokémon you have caught in official Games brought over to it and using the current VGC ruleset. I do however think that they might let us have pre-built teams with the custom EVs and maybe even IVs you want immediately in the competitive mode. Overall this would probably be the best of both world for what we as the consumers would want and what be good for the company. It gives us the official Sandbox with hopefully good looking moves as that's all the devopers have to care about in this game but it still is the advertising tool that VGC ultimately is for the games post release hype. And just to make it obvious I think that Pokémon Champions will be how VGC is done from now on.

Hey all! So I just saw the new trailer for the new Pokémon switch game coming out this year and I wanted to know what everyone’s take on it was. Mine is twofold. While I love Pokémon and will probably still buy it, I am disappointed with it clearly only being located in a city for the whole game. On the other hand, I am told this either IS or is like or part of the Legends games and so I am still hopeful that there will be the release of a brand new game with a new continent and new Pokémon. I’m also hoping that it means the creators are taking more time to make a better game. But who knows?

My other question would be, when a new game with new Pokémon is released, what kind of Pokémon are we hoping to see? Personally, I’m really hoping for another Eeveelution (which would mean a brand new type!). And what kind of battle “enhancer” (can’t think of what they’re called) would we want to see? (ie more Mega Evolution etc). Thoughts?

I’ve been wanting to get the sinnoh games and I have found them for less than $20 and I found it a little suspicious so I looked into and they’re fake, the reviews says they’re fake but good.

I’d prefer a real official game than a fake. But can I trust fakes? Are there places where I can get Pokemon platinum? I’d prefer the real but if the fake works I’d might take it.

Basically what the title says. I am a fan of Pokemon, but am unfortunately unable to play the games from Kalos due to not having the ability to buy the consoles and I am also a very big fan of anime and have seen and read many as well. Isekai is pretty popular

So that got me thinking, if you have the chance to reincarnate in a world that isn't Pokemon. Which Pokemon would you choose to have the powers of.

You will have human form, the ability to shapeshift is your choice. You can have all their moveset and even be able to learn moves that aren't used in games since you won't be constrained by game rules.

Basically you will be able to have the power and abilities of that entire line of a Pokemon, including Mega evolution if they have any.

So I wanted to ask about what you would choose for yourself?

I would like to see more non legendary and mythical choices though so normal Pokemon would be appreciated. But you can put one for each category.

Ah, gotta love that hit of 3 AM existential dread where everything feels hopeless. So, it recently came to my attention that Wolfe Glick was 21 years old when he first became a world Champion. I'm 19 and I barely know anything about competitive Pokémon. I know people typically get worse at competitive gaming with age so now, I'm low-key freaking out because I'm wondering if I'll even be able to keep up with the competition by the time I'm experienced enough to play. Being a World Champion had been my biggest dream for, like 6 years, and I want to make it happen, but there are times, like right now, where it feels like that could never happen, so I kinda just need to talk to someone lol-

Rayquaza; There was a time in pokemon S/V you wiped out penny with just only using one move and no choice items.

I can’t put images… but it’s a 21 page book of Pokémon cards, first page has holographic Chrono Wind Dialga EX card in a slip. It’s a bit worn and bent so would belittle the value a bit. There are a lot of dupes in here. Charizards, a mewtwo, spend, darkrai, blastoise, a lot of gardevoir. Not looking to sell it but I am curious. Any help?

I'm currently trying to battle Prof. Oak in Pokemon Red but forgot to save the trainer in front of the tunnel at Route 8. Is there any other method/trainer I can use to battle him? I sort of remember a method that uses the computers at Pokemon Centers but haven't been able to replicate it.

Like before you say, "ZA isn't a sequel," it quite literally is.

We are spending time with the main character of Gen 6, AZ! After he finally got a happy ending in XY!

And he is the same guy who created mega evolution (by accident) and saw the 2nd fight with Rayquaza against the primals that Zinnia showed on the murals during the Delta Ep. He is, like MEGA, essential to the lore of the modern Pokemon games.

In a vacuum, this is like hanging around N or Cynthia after the events of their games in a significant way outside of their games in a mainline game!

How do people not consider ZA to be a sequel?
