Pet Snake Questions Recurrent Respiratory Infection Cause [HELP]
Hey everyone, here's a bit of context to the situation I find myself in.
I adopted a hognose from a rescue two years ago, a very neglected soul who's come bursting to life in my care. However, the age is not known due to having so many previous owners.
This hognose eats well, sheds well, and is just perfect in everyway. However every 10-12 months they seem to get a Respiratory infection!
None of my other snakes get this, and they are all kept in similar conditions.
The hognose in question vivarium is set up:
4ftx2ftx2ft Vivarium.
Lignocel substrate.
Humidity levels between: 30% and 50%. (Sometimes creeps up to 55% on a rare occasion at night if I don't have the dehumidifier running, which is normally always on.)
Cool side temperature: 22C to 24C.
Hot side temperature: 32C to 34C.
Water dish large enough to bathe and drink.
Spot cleaned daily.
Deep clean and disinfected every four to six weeks.
Fed in a separate tub that is satanized and washed after every use.
My question: What is causing this hognose to contract RI's! It's driving me crazy!

Pet Snake Pictures What an odd way to nap
How do I know she's asleep? Because if she noticed me she'd be at the glass like HIIIIIIIIIII I SEE YOU HI WHAT ARE YOU DOING ARE YOU GONNA TAKE ME OUT OR FEED ME!?
Pet Snake Pictures chunky Calamaria
not much is known about this species, which i suspect is Calamaria javanica or linnaei complex, and my approach on caring these guys is pretty much the same as any other fossorial tropical species. fed them worms every 3 days, usually i put 3-4 large earthworms and they’ll devour it in no time. i believe they are a female, but all of them has such short blunt tail i don’t know i can even pop the hemipenes to check.

Pet Snake Questions How to keep snake warm at night
I recently got a ball python. The room she is in gets quite cold, to combat this I am getting her a higher wattage lamp to make it warmer. However, this wouldn’t work for the night time when the lamps off. I have a heating pad on the side of the tank but this isn’t warm enough to maintain the temperature throughout the night. What other ways can I warm my snake’s tank without light?

Pet Snake Questions Heat mat or over head heating for a baby snake?
I just got my baby stimpsons python the otherday and he is in a small plastic enclosure with a heat mat but im finding its doing nothing. The heat mat is on like 44 degrees Celsius but in the actuall enclosure where he sits and ontop of the substrate its like 27. Should i just shell out the money to buy a glass enclosure so i can put over head heating or is there something i can do with this?

Pet Snake Questions Help
I got done feeding my snake and was about to take him out of his feeding container when he strikes at me. It looks like he hurt his mouth on the bottom because he started opening it multiple times and backing awake. After a while he stopped and when to his water when I put him in his tank. He seems like he is okay now but I’m still really worried.

Pet Snake or "morph" ID Red tail or not?
Local breeder has this listed as a red tail boa, I’m new to boas but I’m leaning more towards this being a boa imperator

Pet Snake Questions Organic topsoil from home depot/lowes
I kept seeing advice about mixing playsand with organic top soil as an option for my kingsnake enclosure, so I went and bought some playsand but I got really overwhelmed by the organic topsoil choices. It seemed like everything had a PH adjuster or something. I caved and went and bought another bag of reptisoil instead to be safe, but it is a lot pricier.
Can anyone post a picture/brand of the EXACT kind they use, along with the ingredients list?

Pet Snake or "morph" ID Need some second opinions on species
Hello all! This is noodle, and I took him off of a co-worker as he couldn’t keep him any longer. That was about a year ago and he originally said he was an albino gopher snake, I took one look and knew he most definitely wasn’t a gopher snake, but looked more like a corn snake. This brings me here, I have just been calling him an albino corn snake for the past year, but suddenly got the urge to ask some others for confirmation, I am like 98% sure but I just wanted to see what others thought. Thanks!

General Question / Discussion First DIY enclosure
Finally got the new enclosure set up and I am loving it ! As I'm sure Frank is as well. Just had to post and show it off!
3 coats of stain , 3 coats of polyurethane to seal Air, dryed out in garage over 2 weeks , caulked inside corners I got the glass for free off of marketplace . The hardest part of the build was making the window sliders yet I'm proud of what I came up with.Keeping the gap tight and being able to take the windows out and back in for ease of cleaning , feeding etc .
Open to suggestions for more natural lighting
Open to any criticism or questions!

Pet Snake Questions New snake parent: any tips/advice welcomed
I just got a piebald ball python. I am a first time snake owner and would love any and all advice! She is 8 months old and a little over 2ft. I currently have a 20 gallon tank that will be upgraded as she grows. I have a thermometer, overhead light, heating pad, plenty of coconut mulch, and a water bowl, as well as one hut. Her tank is pretty sparse at the moment but I plan on getting her more hides later on (short on money atm). I would also appreciate any links or suggestions for snake enrichment items/hides/plants ect. So far her tank isn’t as warm as it should be, any advice on getting it warmer?
She also doesn’t have a name yet so any suggestions are appreciated!
