Biggy asked for Steeler stuff next time I visit. I didn’t expect she’d put it on the roof haha. She also has the best food I’ve ever had. So that’s a plus.

Weekly Random Game

On a brisk Sunday at the Polo Grounds, October 21, 1934, the Pittsburgh Pirates—what we now know as the Steelers—fell to the New York Giants by a score of 17–7. Only 11,000 fans were in attendance to watch this clash, where the Giants leaned heavily on a punishing ground game to secure the win.

Pittsburgh struggled to find any rhythm on offense. Quarterback Warren Heller completed just 4 of 11 passes for 78 yards but was intercepted four times. Harp Vaughan managed 65 yards and the team’s lone touchdown through the air, offering a brief moment of optimism, but the four total interceptions were simply too much to overcome. The Pirates’ ground attack was virtually nonexistent, tallying just 36 yards on 31 attempts—barely more than a yard per carry.

Meanwhile, the Giants imposed their will on the ground, racking up 223 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 48 carries. Ken Strong bulldozed his way to 86 yards and a score, while “Wee” Willie Smith added 76 yards and another touchdown. The Giants didn’t even bother establishing a passing game—completing just one pass for two yards—because they didn’t have to.

Despite losing one fumble, New York capitalized on Pittsburgh’s five turnovers and controlled the tempo throughout. The Pirates mustered only 179 total yards, undone by sloppy play and an offense that just couldn’t move the chains. Luby DiMeolo’s squad fell to 2–6 on the year, while Steve Owen’s Giants improved to 4–2, keeping themselves in the thick of the early NFL race.

We were just talking about Gabe Rivera and here I find myself at the intersection of his accident. I still get upset thinking about him because I really liked him as a person. Three Degree Rd & Babcock Blvd.

We will miss you, Ray Seals

I met him when I first moved to FL. I have a signed photo. He let me sit with him and watch the game (the one at Cleveland when AB stomped their punter). I told him to his face he was the best player on the field in Super Bowl 30. He just smiled.

Top 30 Visits

The Steelers have used 20 of their 30 top 30 visits (plus they have brought in several local visits).

Let's look at the breakdown of prospective rounds of the targets they brought in:

1st Round:

QB - Jaxson Dart WR - Matthew Golden S - Nick Emmanwori

2nd Round:

RB - Kaleb Johnson WR - Jayden Higgins CB - Trey Amos CB - Azareye’h Thomas

3rd Round:

QB - Tyler Shough RB - DJ Giddens RB - Dylan Sampson RB - Bhayshul Tuten DT - Jamaree Caldwell DT - Joshua Farmer WR - Jaylin Noel WR - Savion Williams

Rounds 4-7:

RB - Jaydon Blue RB - Ollie Gordon DT - JJ Pegues DT - Elijah Roberts DT - Yahya Black

Maybe a sign they are looking to trade down? The last 10 visits should say a lot.

I have a tour of Heinz field booked for late next week. First time going to Heinz and Pittsburgh, Tour meets at gate A so Im assuming it would be easiest to park in Gold lot 1A? Any tips for the tour or Pittsburgh in general would be appreciated.

Schefter says the Steelers would only draft one QB if available...

Shedeur Sanders...

I'd rather have Dart but I won't be upset if they end up with Sanders. Unless they make a move to get a higher number one, you can't expect much more in this draft.

[Schefter] Trade: New England is sending QB Joe Milton to the Dallas Cowboys, sources tell ESPN. With Cooper Rush going to Baltimore, Dallas now has a new backup for Dak Prescott.

[Rosenthal] The most surprising part in Aaron Rodgers' tape from last season was how consistently inaccurate he was. 34th/36th in Completion Percentage over Expected ahead of only Cooper Rush and Anthony Richardson. Sailed his targets all season and it never improved

Favorite day 3 draft prospects?

I like:

S Malachi Moore

RBs Bhayshul Tuten & Donovan Edwards

DE Elijah Roberts

NT Jamaree Caldwell

I'm curious who are some of the favorites among the fanbase from those who have been watching closely.

This all but guarantees that we won’t be going WR in RD1 or RD3. What’s everyone think? Is trying to work it out with GP in the long term the best move?

[Schultz] My understanding is since Joe Milton became available at the start of the offseason, teams that showed interest included the Raiders, Eagles, Giants, Steelers and the Cowboys.
