Using ahh instead of ass is just stupid and sound so dumb

2.6k Upvotes

This internet slang has become so weird and this time it is just so stupid. It sound so ridiculous when you just type ahh instead of ass. Like why? What is the main purpose of that? Never understood that

The „song fades into silence“ is the worst and laziest way to end a song

So you know when a song just goes quieter and ends? Its horrible and feels like the producers/songwriters just couldnt be bothered to write an end and said “fuck it just turn the volume down its fine”. Its lazy and cheap and just uncreative. And the sheer amount of songs that end like this makes me think this must be an unpopular opinion, I mean, just give me an end

We need to normalize using stuffed animals

Stuffed animals are comfy, provide excellent structural support for sleep, and make you fall asleep easier. I don't see why it's no longer socially acceptable to use them once you're old enough, especially in our anxiety-ridden society

I use a Squishmallow Dragonite. I was hesitant to buy it at first, but it's a literal life-changer once you get over the stigma :)

Pets are treated better than most humans, and that’s weird.

Upvotes

There’s a growing trend of treating pets like royalty : organic diets, spa treatments, designer clothes; while many people struggle to meet their basic needs. It’s not that pets shouldn’t be loved and cared for, but the imbalance is strange. It says something uncomfortable about society when dogs in strollers get more compassion than unhoused people on the same street. It’s not cute—it’s dystopian.

I hate Bruno Mars

Upvotes

Even though I acknowledge that he is talented I CANT STAND his music and voice. There is not 1 song by him that I can tolerate . It annoys me that his music is always playing when I’m in public. I can’t seem to escape it.

Most people think they want control — but in reality, they’re just more comfortable being controlled.

Upvotes

Everyone claims to love “freedom,” but in reality, most people just want control, as long as it’s their side doing the controlling.

They’ll defend free speech… until someone they dislike says something offensive. They’ll protest government overreach… until it’s a rule they agree with. They’ll call out censorship… until it benefits their team.

It’s not about freedom anymore. It’s about selective outrage.

What people really want is to feel morally justified while shutting down opposing views. They don’t want freedom. They want a referee that always calls in their favor.

And that’s not a left vs. right issue, it’s human nature. It’s easier to cheer for control than to tolerate discomfort.

The idea of real freedom like speech, thought, and belief, sounds great. But the moment someone uses that freedom in a way they don’t like? They want it gone.

Airplane food is good and people give it too much grief

Pretty much the title. For the most part, food on airplanes is pretty solid. Sure, it’s not a Michelin meal—but to say it’s slop or some horrendous amalgamation is so false. People’s expectations are either unreasonably high (there’s no real kitchen??) or their tastes are seriously narrow (which, I guess, is fair but you can’t be an arbiter of cuisine if your personal pickiness precludes you from being objective). Don’t really understand how this would be an unpopular opinion to be honest, but I swear I never see anyone not lambasting airplane food whenever it’s brought up.

A few caveats: - if you have a dietary restriction or allergy. While I do think airlines generally do a good job of accommodating allergies (though I do admit I’ve seen some questionable “snack bags” with tree nuts), the vegan/vegetarian options do often leave much to be desired. - there is the issue of availability and, yes, some people don’t get their first choice. But, one, most displeasure often stems from pickiness, and, two, that is part of why seats closer to the front are more expensive. The latter of which could lead into a discussion about the power of money in society, but you can’t say it’s an illogical methodology within the given capitalist system. - this is mainly talking about long-haul flights and the “provided meal services” rather than the options available for purchase on domestic flights.

Oreos are terrible cookies

First that mealy dirty texture of the cookies, which don't taste like chocolate at all. Is there even any chocolate in there? The cream is nothing special either, how many chemicals is that? So why the fuck do all the oreo variations take up a third of the cookie aisle. Another example of Americans' lack of taste I suppose.

6AM to 2 PM jobs are better than 9 AM to 5 PM ones

4.6k Upvotes

Obviously it depends on the lifestyle of each household, but ideally 6-2 is the perfect combination.

You get everything done early, avoid most traffic, and have more time for happy hours (that usually begin around 2 or 3).

The main drawbacks is if you have family duties such as school drop off (though school pick up is easier) or if you are not an early bird and do really thrive more at night.

High school cafeteria food is actually not bad.

Back when I was in high school everyone said it was terrible. Now that my brother is going to be a freshman we were talking about the food and I remember that I actually kinda liked some of the things they served. I’m in the US so it’s probably different for other countries but our school food was definitely not as bad as people make it out to be. Especially those damn curly fries 🥵

There is nothing wrong with running up the score in a game

Now when football teams take a knee or basketball teams dribble out the final possession, i get it. It’s smart to not turn the ball over and demonstrates sportsmanship when the win is literally sealed. If there are a couple minutes left on the clock, it doesn’t matter how much you are winning by because a victory hasn’t been sealed by a final possession. To me i just see it as adding cushion to a lead and not letting off the gas until you have earned a win. We saw in the Super Bowl the chiefs were down by 34 before they had three touchdowns to make the game look deceptively close. Of course they were screwed at that point but it should be noted that they put up those points after the eagles already dumped the Gatorade and pulled every starter out. The competitive nature shouldn’t stop until the score is finalized in my opinion

I hate when people put hands in pocket with thumb out

Upvotes

I see it often in photos. There are many people who think that it looks more stylish. It isn’t. When I see this, it hurts my eyes. It looks awful. I can understand why people don’t put all the hand in pocket of jeans, but isn’t better just not putting hand in pocket than this ridiculous mix? It also looks absolutely unnatural.

Clothing companies need to stop printing on the back of clothes.

I can't stand when I find an awesome print on a hoodie or T-shirt, only to realize it's printed on the back of the item! I'm wearing a hoodie or over-shirt 90% of the time and nobody (including myself) will be able to see the cool design.

Showers should be done with real soap

2.0k Upvotes

Every time I take a shower at a friend or family’s place there’s always ultra-moisturizing nourishing hydration gentle body cleanser or something along those lines instead of regular bar soap. It’s what takes up most of the space in the shower isle at CVS too.

The whole point of soap is to wash away the sweat/dirt/city grime or whatever that’s dissolved into the oils on your skin, not to moisturize.

I don’t care if I’m stripping away enough oil from my pores to rival imports from the Middle East. I don’t care if I’m nuking the happy healthy microbe society on my skin into a caustic soup of organelles. I’ve had better showers Dr. Bronner’s than some BS body washes and you can clean your floors with that like Pine-Sol.

Sure you’ll have dry skin after using real soap but that’s what lotion is for. At least you’ll be clean.

Blueberry’s are only good baked in something

Eating blueberry’s fresh is a gamble (which is true for a lot of fruits but more annoying in blueberries imo) Sour? Mushy? Sweet? Okay? Bad? Kinda good? Green?

Versus highly elevating, every and any baked good they are added to.

Most group conversations are negative

I've always gravitated towards one on one hangouts and could never really pinpoint why. Lately, I've discovered that any group (typically 4+ more people) interactions tend to steer towards unmeaningful discussions involving gossip, rehashing old drama, discussing superficial topics and excessive small talk without developing any real connection.

Moreover, large groups tend to participate in groupthink, exclusion of new people, peer pressure and conformity and individuals usually section off into their own sub groups which makes it difficult to showcase your individuality and to properly mingle and engage collectively. Depending on where you're seated, you might be confined to uninteresting individuals for the rest of the night.

The quality of people makes a significant difference but from what I observe the larger the group, the more social capital is being calculated and hence, inauthenticity is at play.

It should be socially acceptable for humans/adults to get the zoomies

We see dogs get the zoomies, and it’s natural for safe happy dogs to run around in excitement now and then, or be physically playfully in big ways.

Especially with this culture calling everything ‘cringe’ we have to dim our joy and excitement to levels that are ‘comfortable’ for others and it’s BS.

Humans should be allowed to get the zoomies in most scenarios (obviously hold back at a funeral) but a victory lap around the offices giving/getting high fives from everyone(consentually) would boost overall morale and make the most of life.

Stop forcing joy into small acceptable doses.

Edit: in public spaces, grocery stores, in line at the bank, work, not just with your friends

Take and bake chocolate chip cookies taste as good, if not better, than made from scratch

The toll house, Pillsbury, etc. premade cookie dough that you just heat up is great. They’re basically the same thing.

I get the comfort/love thing…but on taste alone they’re equal

Amount of air in chips bag.

Upvotes

"half my bag of chips is air!", "why don't they just fill it to the top?!", "these bag of chips are a scam!".

Not only is this a stupid complaint because chips are sold by weight and not volume (says it right on the bag) but it's also extremely functional and necessary if you want a semi decent experience.

The extra volume and gas trapped with the chips cushions their irregular shape as to prevent crushing during transport.

The nitrogen gas in the bag also keeps it prevents it from becoming stale for much longer!

It also provides some room for you to role up the bag and seal it for later.

So please, understand your not getting scammed you're paying what you asked for.

Hot honey is the worse food trend ever

7.0k Upvotes

I love eating out and trying new things, and there’s nothing worse than reading the menu and spotting something that sounds great, or seeing a video of something looking delicious, and then it turns out it’s drowning in sticky molten death liquid, ruining the entire experience!

Edit: I KNOW it’s worst not worse okay I was tired 😔

Sour cream is terrible in most things.

Sour cream is not a substitute for cheese, it is not "cheese part 2" just add more cheese ffs.*** If you want that texture just use queso it is 10,000 times better than just adding sour cream. Having both is insane.

The last thing I want inside my giant warm baked potato, or giant warm burrito, is a huge glob of ice-cooled fucking sour cream. I don't care if it's Americanized tacos I don't care if it's Mexican tacos sour cream has no place inside that s*** it, has no place on my nachos, it has no place anywhere near my hot food.

Any queso which is made with cream frieche or sour cream as a base is also heresy. Make a roux like an adult, and melt the cheese into it also like an adult. This is why Chipotle's queso tastes like thigh sweat after walking around Disney World for 7 hours, cuz they use sour cream as a base.

**title says most things. There are some chip dips I'm fine with it as a base, I dont think it "tastes bad" in everything flat out. Mostly dislike it in hot foods placed as a condiment, or as a base for queso.

*** so to clarify, ya a few friends of mine have told me things like "it's like putting another kind of cheese on it for me". This may be a unique thing to these couple people but hey I heard this more than once from friends who eat sour cream on stuff.

The next Resident Evil games should star Rebecca Chambers, Sherry Birkin, or Jake Muller.

Everyone keeps asking for more Leon, Claire, Jill or Chris and I get it, they’re iconic. But Capcom is seriously sleeping on some of the best potential the series has: Rebecca, Sherry, and Jake.

I get that these characters aren't as popular, but if Capcom gave them the same treatment they gave Leon in RE4 Remake, they could easily carry a game. The franchise needs to evolve and stop circling the same faces.

Let’s stop acting like the series only has 4 protagonists and bring some variety back. These three deserve their time to shine.

No one should be fuming over smartphone bezels at this point.

It's been years since technology has developed, people used to care about bazels, slim body and what not. We are probably reaching a big stop in that department now. But I have seen people not preferring a phone just because its bezel is nominally big, they are the least of your concern in current times.
