Self-Promotion (Developer) Hi, I'm a solo developer creating the PCVR space game I always wanted to play (nothing existing quite ticked all the boxes). I have zero budget so I have a patreon to keep the project going - https://www.patreon.com/c/FirstTimeGames But you can follow for FREE and play a FREE DEMO!
Hi all, I wanted to share my latest trailer for my personal PCVR project which I've been working on for a couple of years now. Its a VR space exploration game where you can move around the interior of your ship and interact with it, explore a huge procedural galaxy, land on planets and explore on foot, mine, repair, manage resources etc.
You can play a free demo on steam here - https://store.steampowered.com/app/2098920/Inter_Solar_83/
I also have a Petreon here which offsets some of my costs, backers get access to closed alphas but you can also follow for free for news - https://www.patreon.com/c/FirstTimeGames
I'm always keen to hear feedback and suggestions on where to take the game, what to add etc.

Discussion Got my Crystal Super!!
Hey guys!
So yeah I got my Super and been thoroughly testing it for an upcoming review, which is coming soon!
I’m not yet ready to answer any questions right now, since I’m still putting it through it’s paces.
But I want to cover as much as possible in the review video, so ask away and I’ll make sure to include it and answer as best I can.

Discussion Those who work full time in VR
I love working in VR using immersed with my quest 3 but I am on the fence about using it 100% of the time as a monitor replacement. Right now I only use it when I am away from home. As I work from home I use a multi monitor setup most of the time.
Those who have ditched the monitors completely... What about working in VR made you do it? What accessories or strategies do you use to be able to use it all day with maximum comfort, clarity and ease? What are some adventages or cool use cases you have found to using it that a physical monitor does not have?

Discussion Underrated PCVR games?
It's no question that VR is probably the least profitable type of game dev, and I wanted to know about some underrated gems for VR. I know a lot of games will probably be buggy like Alien Rogue Incursion or miss the mark like Metro Awakening, but give me your underrated gems!

Discussion Follow-up to the "Looking for professional VR player" post Spoiler
reddit.comHey everybody, great news – we beat him! 😈 Also some bad news, but read on...
Few days ago I found a new mini game (search "freek" on meta store), where you just press buttons, pull levers, flick switches. Nice steampunk vibes. Nothing special on the paper, but it consumed me for few days. I could not beat the record, so I asked you, and I could not be happier – WE BEAT THIS MF!!!
Great thanks goes to u/Alluviondude & one other who did not want to be mentioned. They both beat 47 second mark. Thank you, guys. ❤️
Since then, devs added an in-game leaderboard, so if you dare, go and make your mark. I'll definitely revisit this game later, but now I need something more chill. I heard good things about Wanderer...
r/virtualreality is really the best community, love you & thank you

Discussion Shiftall Megane X 8K Superlight
Hey everyone, ive had my Megx for just under a week now.
You can imagine ive been dreaming of this day since owning the Vive Pro Oled. My current driver is the Pimax Crystal. So you could image, before delivery i was thinking, OLED, Zero sceen door, No Mura, im going to be wowed when i put it on. But no, i was dissapointed but at the time could not work out why.
After 4 days doing side by side A/B testing vs the crystal. I came to the conclusion that the Megx at 90hz cheats like the BSB. It sends a lower res 2560 image and upcales it to the Megx 4K panels. The result is a soft image that has almost half the clarity and game textures are only half as detailed vs the crystal.
I confirmed this using the steamvr ROV test. I set both headsets to 7000px per eye. On every eye test board the crystal gave an image which had twice the clarity and twice the detail.
I put on the classic Half Life Aylx. I was wowed by the megx image, this game is where the black levels add so much to the expereince. The overall image was beautiful.... However it had that suspcious soft "game" look.... And also the mount is rubbish for face paced games, the headset wobbles and thus you constantly lose the tiny sweet spot.
I launched HLA in the crystal and immedaly the extra FOV, brightness produced an image that had such clarity and detail... it felt like i was standing in the HL world... not looking at a softly rendered video game. The game looks almost x2 as detailed as that provided by the megx. This result was repeated on every game i tested even UEVR titles.
As you can imagine im really disspointed. If i knew the megx was sending a 2560 res image and upscaling it to the 4k panels i would have never bought it. Please keep in mind if you come from a quest 3... you will be perfectly happy with the image. Nowever coming from a crystal and knowing that the megx only renders half the clairty and detail as the crystal.... u just cant unsee it.
My most played game atm is MSFS24. The upscaled image of the megx, cockpit dails, text and displays are soft and text look bloated. Clearly a low res image stretched onto 4k panels. In the crystal the dails , text and panels are razor sharp. TAA res set to 3800px per eye.
I can understand ppl thinking im lying or have a broken unit. But im sure its working perfectly. Im sure as more users especially those who own a crystal and take the time to do proper A/B testing will confirm my results.
Im not saying the megx is a bad headset, its not. Most users will most likely love it. However, if you buy a 4k tv and get a 2560p image you are going to feel scammed. If you are coming from a crystal you will be dissapointed to. As the zero screen door, and oled blacks.... may not be good enoguht fo you to lose half the details and calrity you are used to.
So where does the megx deliver? Zero screen door, absolutely nothing. Mura so minimal you have to try to see it and even if you do its very hard to spot. Perfect Blacks. The image often sufferes from colour banding, in skies, walls of cinema apps and oddly can even be seem in movies on actors faces! This can be very immersion breaking.
I am going to reach out to the shiftall team to ask for confirmation of why the image is so osft even thos im rendering in steam at +4000px per eye.
I would love to hear other owners reports. Please note i was orginally tricked into believing the megx was better than the crystal becuase i made the typical error of just going by "memory". You must do direct A/B without any break in between.
I understand shiftall are working on a 75hz mode like the BSB, i hope just like the BSB this option will send a higher res image to the megx panels. If so... this could then put in on par with the crystal. I will then most ikely be perfectly happy. Crystal clarity, details but with ZERO screen door, next to zero Mura & perfect blacks, that would be the dream.

Question/Support Quest 3 PCVR - Wired or Wireless
I know this question has been asked many times before but I'm finding mixed answers to my question.
I have not yet gotten the Quest 3 but I intend to use it only for PCVR not standalone because I want better quality graphics.
I have:
WiFi 5 - the router is in a different room but my pc is the only thing that uses the internet
PC Specs are R5 3600, RTX3060 12GB, and 16GB ram (should be enough but I'm listing in just in case)
From some people I have heard that the quest 3 is great and awesome, but from others I hear that there is a lot of artifacting and the latency is bad when using wireless so I'm just really confused now.
My internet speed is 325 Mbps down and 140 up.

Discussion Which VR game should I play next?
Hi all, I'm somewhat new to VR games, just finished my third game. They were wanderer, red matter and red matter 2 and enjoyed all three quite a lot.
I'm looking for suggestions on what to play next, basically I'm not interested in FPS and horror/jumpscares (like HLA), also not into excercise games or games where there isn't actual gameplay (like the boat one).
I know that I have probably discarded 99% of all VR games with these preferences but please give me some reccs if there are any that fit my taste. I recently got interested in arken age as i liked some of the game mechanics and the environment and the combat isn't only gun focused but I don't know if there are jumpscares or not.
Thanks in advance

Discussion Quest 3 - ASW problem with every flight simulator
My comp specs: AMD 9800x3D; RTX 4070Ti SUPER 16 GB; 64 RAM (6400MHz); PRO X870-P; Quest 3
I've been using Q3 for some time now, long enough to get used to it. I get the best results when ASW is turned on, but then, flashing artifacts will appear, e.g. in a clear sky or smooth water.
This is related to the incomplete compatibility with RTX 40 series cards... Which after a long and rather fruitless exchange of emails with Meta support, I was finally told the truth, ... and assured that the technicians are working on the problem 🤣🤣🤣
But I wonder why so many Q3 users can use flight simulators without ASW turned on (e.g. in mode: "Force mode 45fps, ASW disabled")...
In my case, there is a terribly strong blur effect = ghosting, when the plane moves/turns in VR. When I fly straight (e.g. when AP=ON) the scenery is OK, I can even look around without the blur effect, but every movement of the plane causes a very strong ghosting effect.
I tried almost all recommended steps in both XP11 and XP12 (although in 90% it is still XP11):
connection via cable (here I have the best performance), without cable, via the Meta Quest Link application, Virtual Desktop, Steam VR.
I tried setting ASW using ODT, OTT, Ovr plugin - all without any difference ---> still ghosting.
I have to lower the XP settings sliders almost all on the left to improve the situation. But I guess, with my computer configuration, this should not happen.
I am convinced that I am making a mistake somewhere or some setting is causing this disgusting and unacceptable ghosting.
Finally, I will add that I have tried several different NVidia drivers (using DDU).
After watching dozens of videos and reading the forum, I'm out of ideas.
Please give me any suggestions, ideas, tips, etc...
Thank you very much for any help 😉

Discussion Silent Hill 2 Remake VR mod
Hi all,
I’m trying to get the OpenVR SH2 remake by Praydog installed. I can get reasonably far but when I try to inject into the game I end up with an error on the UEVR launcher saying OpenVr.dll not found, the game keeps running - just not in first person.
I’m launching from Steam if that makes a difference. Are there any OpenVR pros in here? I’m struggling to understand all the things I need to do.
