It depends who we’re having sex with

Hasan comments further about ethan's Klein's content nuke
 in  r/youtubedrama  Feb 02 '25

Where? I’ve tried, I can only find clips of Ethan and Hila criticising the IDF, and Hila talking about her military desk job being boring admin and not involving combat, I can’t find any clip of her talking about being involved in raids. I’ve asked several times for people making this point to provide evidence and nobody ever replies, seems to me it’s pure fantasy cooked up by Hasan fans.

Do you have a clip of them discussing this? I’ve never heard it before. I’ve only ever heard Ethan and Hila being critical of the IDF.

International students are no longer worth it
 in  r/UKJobs  Jan 23 '25

Agreed, I hire people several times a year and never use AI to score or auto reject applicants, I look at their CVs and read their cover letters and written answers to the application questions. Quickest way to be rejected is not writing a cover letter that explains clearly why you want to work specifically for our company and have applied for the role. Second quickest way to get rejected is if your answer to the application questions is identical to the other candidates who clearly also used AI to answer it.

I understand and agree with your point about autism and neurodiversity, but I disagree about using Grammarly. Grammarly is essentially like using AI, it is artificially enhancing your written communication beyond your own ability, as well as your own personal judgement. Although it is now sometimes recommended by Access To Work, not every job will allow you to use Grammarly, for example if it involves handling confidential data and high security information. Recruiters need to see your actual level of skill as an individual to assess how well you’ll perform in the role, they’re not interested in seeing how well Grammarly works or which applicant has found the cleverest tools and software to help them.

Baybayhay’s bf of 3 years breaking up with her for a 22 year old
 in  r/LAinfluencersnark  Jan 19 '25

As someone whose 33 year old ex left me when I was 28 for a 24 year old, it definitely feels like you’re being replaced because of age! Late 20s is a rough time as a woman with everyone telling you you’re no longer hot and should hurry up having children, it isn’t a pleasant experience having a long term relationship suddenly unexpectedly end.

Anybody else’s hair lost a lot of density after covid?
 in  r/finehair  Jan 07 '25

This is interesting, I was going to disagree and say my hair is noticeably thicker than it was pre-covid and I had it three times. I have been taking high strength vitamin D near enough constantly since late 2019 after results of a blood test showing I was very deficient, wonder if this may be why.

Do men in Nottingham still approach people they’re interested in?
 in  r/nottingham  Jan 05 '25

With respect, as another woman, I have also experienced this and am entitled to my own understanding. I don’t think every unattractive man that approaches me is harassing me, only the ones that are, you know, actually harassing me.

 in  r/nottingham  Jan 04 '25

The difference between suitor and harasser is not taking no for an answer. There’s nothing wrong with politely approaching someone, you just have to politely leave them alone if they don’t reciprocate or seem enthusiastically interested in you too.

What’s a “red flag” when visiting a British pub?
 in  r/AskUK  Jan 04 '25

I was stuck at a tiny rural train station for an hour delay once in winter so decided to pop into the pub just off the platform for a pint and to keep warm. Immediately knew the vibes were off. It was tiny, basically no separate tables, just a bench seat around the outside of the room so everyone was sat facing each other. It was full of maybe 6/7 older men which isn’t super inviting as a young woman in my early 20s at the time. There was a sign on the wall saying no phones allowed! So I got a book out to read and had to awkwardly pretend to not be listening to avoid being involved in the most racist conversation I’ve ever heard.

What would happen if we started talking to babies normally instead of using the "baby voice"?
 in  r/NoStupidQuestions  Dec 28 '24

This makes me sad, no parent has to use corporal punishment or physical harm, it’s not a baby’s job to be able to communicate with you, it’s your job to communicate with your baby.

Does anyone else feel this way
 in  r/EDAnonymous  Dec 23 '24

I said that exact thing to my therapist last week. I have no energy left to put into trying to resolve my issues with food anymore. It’s been 14/15 years and even when my behaviour and body have been technically recovered, my mind has never been, I am still miserable and terrified of gaining weight. My ED always rears back up as soon as I’m struggling and I relapse on the behaviours as a coping mechanism. And I feel the same as you, I support others to be body positive and get what they’re saying but it just doesn’t apply to me, I know weight and body image is not the most important thing in the grand scheme of things, and it’s more important to be happy and healthy and to have a body that allows you to do what you want to in life, I would preach that to anyone else, but when it comes back to myself for some reason it feels non-negotiable. I don’t know why but I have just accepted now that this is the brain I was given and how I’m always going to feel.

Individual tarot cards - nod to her mystic nessa days in the caravan, completely useless to the recipient as one card on its own, and you get the fun of “unlucky gwen” for whoever gets the death card

I get what you’re saying but even the tone of your comment reads as quite condescending, which is exactly what drunk people respond badly to. Nobody appreciates the judgemental sober person preaching that you’ve had too much to drink, but I can tell you from experience that if someone who I know also likes a drink and is usually a fun time gives me a little nudge or gets me a water from the bar without saying anything, I heed that caution respectfully.

Does anyone know siblings who have different accents?
 in  r/CasualConversation  Dec 08 '24

That’s mad for an accent to change that distinctly in adulthood and after only a year of influence and then returning home, definitely seems like he was putting it on.

Does anyone know siblings who have different accents?
 in  r/CasualConversation  Dec 08 '24

I know siblings with different accents. Both grew up together in the south east of the UK in an area with a distinctive regional accent. One moved further north at 18 to go to uni and has travelled a lot, while the other has remained living where they grew up into their 30s. The one that went to university and travelled has a much softer, more generic posh southern English accent, while the one who stayed in their hometown has a much stronger regional accent. Accents vary so much in the UK, and it is based not only on geography but class too. If you met these siblings you’d assume the one that went to university and travelled is more middle class than their working class sibling who stayed put, and arguably their education and professions now do reflect that too, so I wonder if that is a pattern that often occurs and explains some of the class differences in UK accents.
