Can We Talk About the Never-Ending Laundry Pile?
 in  r/outdaughtered  12d ago

Absolutely. My singleton has had much more opportunity to be involved in chores and actually does them better solo at his age than my twins did together. I was just noting that multiple timing and singleton timing is waaaay different, and thus the exposure to things like chores. Being a mom of same age multiples and having a singleton later has taught me that no matter how you want to hack it, the multiple time schedule is so different and as a result, multiples can often be delayed in skill learning not due to parent laziness but simply by the fact that there are only so many hours in the day, especially with higher order multiples.

Playing devils advocate, but as a mom of (only twin) multiples, many times it was faster for me to do the task than to teach the toddlers to do it twice as slowly and poorly. Multiply it by three I 1000% get if Danielle and Adam have had that mentality for so long, it’s really hard to break out of it.

I got banned posting a comment in support of the free preschool Beshear wants to implement. The mods are absolutely psychotic.

No great loss, OP.

Making the jump from Daniel Tiger to Mister Rogers
 in  r/ChurchofRogers  24d ago

We did the reverse; boys grew up watching Mister Rogers, Daniel was introduced three or four years after.

I think the episodes you choose are going to need to be tailored to each individual kid. One of my kids as a toddler was really into learning baby signs and, so videos where Mister Rogers learned ASL were his favorites. My other kiddo went through a big vehicles phase, so the episode where Mister Rogers learned about battery operated cars was his choice. I also sang “it’s you I like” as one of my bedtime songs to them for years; even now at six they remember the words and make requests of it. There’s an archive that lists every episode; I’d search a couple of keywords and see what you come up with. PBS kids app also has some classic/important episodes free to watch

what's your favorite thing about having twins/triplets??

Six. We’ve almost given up trying to wrangle it and sometimes shout out “sweep the leg” to the one that’s currently losing.

It’s also a living breathing commercial for buying like three Nugget couches, if you have the space.

Circumcision questions
 in  r/NICUParents  Feb 05 '25

I think they probably just want to confirm your wishes? Our doc told us that if we wanted to circumcise our babies (we didn’t), that they would have to be delayed due to their size.

Someone troll with a “Burying grandma tomorrow what LS should we layer under her modest pantsuit?” next

With the Nintendo switch 2’s announcement what do you all plan on doing with your original switch?

Well my two year old threw ours in the trash last week and now it’s somewhere in a landfill so…not much

What shows from your childhood do you let your children watch now?

Mister Rogers Neighborhood. My now six year olds still call him Rogy and some of his songs are on their lullaby rotations

Irresponsible parenting

Ugh, how awful.

That print is such a poor choice for the snow. Should have solicited online advice beforehand. It doesn’t even match the flakes or the winter color scheme. What kind of mother would do that to that poor baby.

Do Madewell jeans shrink?

I bought a pair of secondhand Madewell jeans from Goodwill a few years ago. Mid to low rise, bootcut, super sturdy. They are marked 28 x 32.

I’ve lost postpartum weight recently, and as I’ve been fitting back into my older clothing, these particular pair of jeans puzzle me. I’ve been wearing size 2 from Old Navy for a solid month ~10 lbs ago, size 4 Express, and 26 in Levi’s, all in varying rises, comfortably, but these pair of Madewells barely buttoned until a week ago. From everything I’ve read, Madewell jeans are supposed to be stretchy and generously sized, but I’m wondering if I got a shrunken pair. There is little to no stretch to these pants, but the material itself is solid and seems like a decent quality. The care tag was cut when I purchased them, so I don’t have any other details on them.

I really love them and I’d like to explore getting more Madewell jeans if the quality is similar, but sizing has thrown me for a loop compared to everything else I’ve read online.

We listen and we don’t judge: Bridgerton season 1
 in  r/BridgertonNetflix  Dec 18 '24

Season One’s pacing has never been replicated and it was perfection. Season two outshone it in terms of pure lead chemistry, but too many subplots and the weird treatment of its main characters would never allow it to be superior. Ditto re the pacing for season three.

Best Youth Merch Retailer

Hi everyone! My five, almost six year old played on a Little League baseball team this spring for the first time and they were named after the Nats. Since then, he has become a kid obsessed; he religiously checked game scores on Alexa during the season, his only watches on YouTube were Nats recaps, and he’s spent unprompted hours in our backyard practicing his hitting borrowing stances from his favorite players.

For Christmas I’d love to get him some Nats gear. As this subreddit is filled with experts on the team, I’d love to know if you have preferences of official merch retailers outside of the official store. I have a cousin in DC, so even local places would be fine. He is the youngest twin and my middle kid, so price can’t be outrageous but I’m also well aware how high official merch pricing can get. Thank you all in advance!

ETA: The kid in question is about 40 lbs soaking wet, so XS, XXS would even be okay.

Have you ever spun a pumpkin/gourd from one hand to the other in a curveball spin?

Me neither. Certainly not in office.

I know 🙄 I hate it because my kid looked so cute in his TB jams but I’m not going to get any size ups for him for that reason

I was an ESL teacher with the same issue. It took nearly a year to feel comfortable that I wasn’t misinterpreting their accents.
