What’s your honest opinion about “Heretic” ?
 in  r/Letterboxd  Dec 11 '24

Thank you !! It wasn't a bad thing but the trailer made me expect a bit more of a cat and mouse game in a trapped house. Definitely need a rewatch with subtitles because all the talks about religion was so interesting but I definitely missed some parts!

I really enjoyed it but I was really not expecting it to be that wordy ( I don't know if that makes sense), watch it on a late screening after a 12 hours shift. French living in London, my English is really good but it was so dialogue focused that I wish I picked a subtitled show because I was really struggling in parts. Solid movie though, love the Grant Renaissance!

Empire BO: Wicked is nearly flat on Tuesday for a total of $15.8m
 in  r/boxoffice  Nov 27 '24

Was a manager in a cinema for 5 years from Summer 2017 to January 2023 and finally left when I got a job on.... Wicked lol. Love the movie and I am so happy it is doing so good but good luck to you and all the cinema workers! These back to back sold out shows days can be so hard. Good luck with Moana coming your way as well!

Looks like $2M previews for #Smile2. Expecting $20M weekend.
 in  r/boxoffice  Oct 18 '24

I really hope it does well because what a fun camp ride that was. The first half was a bit slow but when it starts kicking off it's just pure fun and I want more. Naomi Scott really impressed me in this, she did an amazing job!

Official Discussion - Smile 2 [SPOILERS]
 in  r/movies  Oct 18 '24

Used to work in a 89 years old cinema in Londin few years ago and one of our screen was really creepy at any time (had a very spooky experience watching Mother! Almost on my own in that screen) and most of my staff refuse to go clean that screen until the house lights were up even for kids movie so I used to do it. Smile 1 so, the end credits were so creepy I did it once in the dark in that screen and every other time I was manually turning the lights on because it was just too creepy. Did a double bill of Smile 1 and 2 Wednesday and it is such a fun Franchise. Number 2 has issues but what a fun camp ride!

Been with my partner for 9 year, 2 separate duvets for maybe 6 years now. He works a lot of nights in A&E so never an issue of him or I coming to bed and the other person is wrapped up in the only blanket. He gets cold, I Get too warm, he has his winter duvet on I have my summer one all year long. 2 separate blankets, happy couple!

Lily Collins behind the scenes with this all-time Emily in Paris fit.

The scene of her going up the stairs with her face slowly appearing under the hat after she ditched the oversized coat was INSANE!

GAS01E01 - "Global Talent Extravaganza" & GAS01E02 - "Global Talent Extravaganza: Part 2" [Post-Episode Discussion]
 in  r/rupaulsdragrace  Aug 18 '24

Absolutely adored the first episode despite the sound for Soa's talent being weird, the music was too loud and could barely hear her. Ended up reading the captions to understand her and I'm French. Starting episode 2 now but love everyone and love the vibe. JAMAL IS SO Daddy my god and his outfit was amazing so I guess I'm stealing the idea and that is my new year's eve outfit!

Universal's Twisters grossed an estimated $32.2M domestically on Friday (from 4,151 locations), including previews.
 in  r/boxoffice  Jul 20 '24

My feeling is that a lot of people will chose twister as a back up plan as well in case they haven't pre-booked for Deadpool and the screens are sold out. When I used to manage a cinema, a lot of smaller releases (not saying Twisters is a small release) were doing amazing numbers on massive opening weekends (Avengers, Lion King Etc) because people still wanted a day or night out and haven't pre-booked for the big release of the weekend. So Win Win for both movies!

Didn't care about the challenge but Slapmaggeddon of the end got me in tears. The twister tornado final double slap was just so stupid I rewatched it 5 times. Please someone make a gif of Slappyana Hurricane Ru.

Get OUT of here! Pixar’s INSIDE OUT 2 is the first bonafide summer blockbuster—another massive $30M on Wednesday, and now $235M total.
 in  r/boxoffice  Jun 20 '24

Waouh ! Really good numbers! Thanks for the answer. All three covid Pixar + Onwards who got hit 150 miles/hour in the face by Covid are all great movies and I think they all would have done really good. I was still working in a theatre in the UK when Onwards came out 3 days before First Lockdown, my partner and I were alone in the screen and we absolutely love it. Got a bit sad to think that the movie will not have a proper box Office because it was a very pleasant surprise.

Non-native speakers: in what language do you read your books?
 in  r/books  Apr 03 '24

Native French living in London. Read books in original when I understand the language to the exception of Dune which I'm currently reading in French as I was finding it hard to do in English!

NEW: #DunePartTwo is on pace to be Denis Villeneuve’s biggest pre-seller to date on @Fandango, surpassing Dune, Blade Runner 2049 and Arrival at the same point in the sales cycle. In fact, #Dune2 has sold twice as many tix as 2021’s #Dune did at the same point. It’s gonna be big!
 in  r/boxoffice  Feb 22 '24

Watched the first one on day one and my best friends last week mentioned seeing the poster for part 2 on a bus that he had no clues what it was about. Watched it with him Tuesday, he rewatched it the evening after with his partner. The first movie recently dropping on different streaming platform is already bringing more fans !

I cackled so hard reading this I almost fell

Not drag but I have a question for French people: Is the band Yelle famous/popular in France? On a scale 1-10 what would you rate their popularity? 1 is nothing 10 is taylor swift level
 in  r/DragRaceFrance  Nov 28 '23

As another comment said, they have 2 big hits at the end of the 2000's I think, A cause des Garçons and Je veux te voir but they claimed of disappear from Mainstream, but their following albums are great, they defo know in the more Indie scene and I think they are quite big in America (as doing a lot of festivals), love them !

If you can still play BOTW it's a complete different vibe and can be so peaceful at times! Love both games and loves every iteration of Zelda so give it a try if you can !
