ELI5 Why are we supposed to trust our money in a 401k if it can just be wiped out during a crash?
I mean, that's a fair point, but for Gen X/Millennials, it's more complex IMO.
We got hit by those 'regular' downturns plus a unique combination of rising student debt, housing, and healthcare costs - all while our wages largely stagnated compared to those bumps and expenses.
And it's not quite right to say past crises were just 'the market' either. Major policy decisions, often under conservative/neoliberal frameworks (deregulation before 2008, and especially earlier with Reagan), played a huge role in shaping them and their aftermath.
So, the current situation isn't just about Trump (though he's making things much worse) - it's more like those factors are pouring gasoline on a fire that's been burning for decades.

At first I thought it was a subtle hate, but then she got more overt
I'm bi, so while I'm split, she absolutely thinks about gay sex more than twice what I do.

Super Mario RPG - $19.99 (67% off) at GameStop, physical, lowest price ever
Ah - My mistake, sorry. When I looked for an edit, I'm used to seeing either the post itself changed to correct the issue, or some sort of "Edit:" at the bottom.

Banned and Restricted Announcement – March 31, 2025
I've thought for awhile now that something between Thassa's Oracle and Lab Man would be the sweet spot. Something like, When ~ enters the battlefield, mill 2 cards. Then, if you have no cards in your library and ~ is on the battlefield, you win the game.
Maybe it is unplayable by today's standards however. Legacy was much less powerful when Lab Man was seeing occasional play.

Your first sentence in your first post says it sold 1m.

Where did you get 1m from? It sold over 850,000 copies in Japan alone as of a year ago.

OP asks if they are overreacting to a note they got from their aunt's boyfriend about chores they would need to do to not get kicked out, gets roasted by almost every comment
Yup - Being a teenager is a shitty time, and with bad parents, it can be compounded.
Heck, it was never modeled for me growing up. In my 20's, I had some absolutely disasters. Now I'm in my late 30's and I know that both my wife and I rely on having people over somewhat regularly to keep our house in shape...
I'm going to go throw out a few of these energy drinks I have on my desk now.

Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Halftime Show Received 125 FCC Complaints: "I Felt Discriminated Against"
I think some of these are using voice-to-text and it doesn’t quite pick it up right.

Tom Brady admits 'tension had developed' with Bill Belichick during end of quarterback's time with Patriots and could only be resolved with a split
I dunno - I'm pretty sure Marshawn should have been given the ball.

What would you call this sample?
That's a chill retro-wave bossa nova. Love it.

If it is the one I am thinking of, I sure hope so!

Those girls that buy those really big sex toys, how do they go back to regular size in relationships?
There are limitations to metaphors.
Some people might enjoy using a large toy by themselves, but prefer no penetration at all when with someone. Everyone has different things they like, and enjoying one thing doesn't preclude anything else.

Will my life be ruined if people found out I did OF?
Seriously, the only people who care are townies and conservatives. If you live in the city, nobody cares at all.

That's... Actually kind of funny.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A 2nd Trailer
Let's not blame the Switch's limitations here, we've all seen other games perform much better than what Game Freak puts out.

‘It was a bit hurtful’: Mario + Rabbids creator says Ubisoft’s sequel comments were ‘harsh on the team’
I mean, I would say that they set their expectations too high, as is frequently the case with companies like that. The fact that Mario + Rabbids did well in the first place was unexpected.

Floorp just became my main browser. The side panel blew my mind.
It seems useful, but it doesn't maintain any of my logins and I can't middle-click links to open them into a new tab - Without those options, I'd rather just have a pinned tab. If it works well for you though, that's great!

I thought Diddy Kong Racing specifically had races where you swapped between kart, plane, and water vehicle (forget what they called it) while racing. (Though tracks tended to be focused on a specific type)

[Request] Is this true?
With new loans, with dividends from the held stocks, by giving the bank a portion of the assets. If the assets appreciate, their new value can also be used against the existing debt. Lots of loopholes to avoid directly selling and turning it into something that hits capital gains.

[Request] Is this true?
They have access to something better than cash. They get to borrow against their stocks/assets at extremely favorable rates so that they can access nearly tax-free spending. Far more useful than having a vault of money.

Ha, fair. Though I'm certainly hoping that Millennials / Gen Z are able to turn the ship... Eventually. Though I don't know how much hope I have.
