Food & activity recs for out of towner!
 in  r/McKinney  5d ago

I second Hutchins for BBQ. You have to try a Texas Twinkie to get the full Texas BBQ experience there.

Also, you could try Anamias for Tex mex. It’s a chain but it’s local and originated in Dallas . It’s not Mexican but true Tex-Mex.

Downtown McKinney is cool to see for visiting. My kids love the Bonnie Wenk park, and it’s fairly large and has a couple different playground areas so you can really let them run around and spend some time at.

It’s community not personal

What do you watch in the days between Severance episodes?
 in  r/SeveranceAppleTVPlus  29d ago

I don’t “watch” anything I just look at still frames of the latest epi to see what’s in the background (goats and newspapers for example) to come up with the next greatest theory like the clones are going to bring Kier back so we can go into the matrix again and have Gemma reborn from the blood of mark and helly’s love child that cobelvig is obviously the grandmother that will be a permanent innie only to find out Burt’s actually been kier the whole time. Or something like that

Severance - 2x07 "Chikhai Bardo" - Post-Episode Discussion
 in  r/SeveranceAppleTVPlus  Feb 28 '25

I feel like the key to understanding what’s happening is when the show reveals how Lumon manipulates time. Or how innies v outies time relate. They’ve hinted at it, but not completely revealed. Part of the time with Marks nosebleed was with Reghabi. Drummond knew about it so it happened to innie Mark but his consciousness wakes up to Reghabi.

What movie made you say, "Holy shit there is still an hour left"?
 in  r/AskReddit  Feb 23 '25

Straight story.

Old man takes a riding lawn mower from Iowa to Wisconsin to see his brother on his death bed and it’s about what you’d expect.

What do you think about my theory of this scene?
 in  r/SeveranceAppleTVPlus  Feb 22 '25

I definitely noticed the iceberg. It’s the only thing on the wall behind his desk that whenever people come into his office . Meaning there’s more beneath the surface than what we see with Milkshake. I was unaware of the duck/rabbit sculpture. (I see a duck).

Also, for me I see the bonsai as taming or controlling what is supposed to be found out in nature, but having it in a controlled environment.

I also enjoy the idea of milkshake trying to burn it all down from the inside.

Feeling an emotional plot hole?
 in  r/SeveranceAppleTVPlus  Feb 22 '25

I think this plot hole was addressed in the diner convo between Devon and Mark. He saw her burned body. He has her ashes. If it’s not her, that means they got Gemma while alive. Took her, switch her body with another person, torched it and the car, and passed it all off. How deep does it go? Who is involved? How can they know who to trust besides themselves? Devon isn’t telling Ricken. Also two other points I have 1. What makes you think something like the FBI even exists in this world. We have no clue where or what tf Kier, PE even is. I’m not totally convinced this isn’t all happening in communist Siberia Russia and Lumon just set up this community they control all aspects of to doing severance or whatever experiments they want…. (Which leads to point #2)

  1. Lumon appears to be embedded at the least or possibly entrenched/running all aspects of this community. Mark lives in their housing. Lumon seems to be all major parts of the whatever economy, and government.

Just my take on it.

There was no "lunch".
 in  r/SeveranceAppleTVPlus  Feb 20 '25

I took this exchange as: Drummond reading the instructions- we pre-order lunch for these things if they run long. If it’s longer than 4 hours we’ll feed you.

Milkshake saying- my guy I’ve been killing it. We don’t need to do that formality

Drummond responding- Bud, we’re gonna be here a while.

Milkshake- sad eyes

Where did I say I was an American lol? Maybe you’re right. But I remember watching and thinking she was done with her explanation about medications and then added and alcohol. It just sat with me as a weird explanation. Could be nothing.

Who knows, could be something. 🤷‍♂️
