You're right. I see now that I made some pretty big assumption here. Most of which stemming from ethnocentrism. I'll own that mistake and keep that in mind for next time.

Actually there is a chance they're correct about this situation, but I'm waiting for further information. The original TikTok is a Vietnamese bar so I'm hoping a Vietnamese person can give context (I'm not going to pretend to understand Vietnamese popular culture).

Nvm, it's possible I was wrong and I updated my comments to reflect that. I'm waiting for further information bc I could've jumped the gun.

No one saying you should care about it. I'm not making any moral judgements. I'm simply stating that the joke is obviously accidental blackface shock value. I literally walk through the joke in another comment.

You're choosing to view this as racist despite the fact that there is no mention of race whatsoever. Bad reasoning here. Something doesn't have to mention race for it to deal with race. That's a ridiculous thing to assert and I'm sure you don't even agree with this. My point is that the joke is blackface here. The camera to the arm showing the paint not being able to come off easy then panning to it being on their face is clearly for shock value... What is invoking the shock? White people with black paint covering their face... Which also looks like blackface which is socially a no no. It's not a hard sequence to follow.

So you're honestly telling me you don't think that the cosplay appearing like blackface was part of the joke at all? If so, it'd seem like you're purposefully trying to be obtuse about this to prove or point to some other broad societal point. I truly dont understand the pushback on this, considering I'm not even making a moral judgment, just that it's obviously a part of the joke.
I was probably wrong. Found the original video which is from Vietnam. Waiting for a translation.

Ah yes, they completely made that decision with no thought that it could be interpreted as blackface? Again, you are acting like they made this decision without not a single person going "hey this could look sketch."

Let's think for a second. How often do grownups cosplay sheep? Now what percentage of people cosplay sheep while painting their face black? Now you want me to believe these people skipped a more traditional sheep cosplay for one with a black painted face & chose to do so with no thought or relation to blackface.I find that hard to believe. What's more believable is that the whole cosplay was planned around a single joke. The joke being that they'll do blackface with the plausible deniability of a normal Halloween costume. Now whether you think the joke itself is unacceptable or not is irrelevant to the fact that racism is clearly the joke. It doesn't make sense to deny that.

Here is the original. It's from a Vietnamese bar. I don't speak Vietnamese nor know the current culture someone that speaks Vietnamese hmu and lmk the context. If I was wrong I'll amend everything I said and own it.

Is lip filler always a turn-off, even if it looks natural?
Just like with makeup, guys are stupid. If we cannot tell it's there, then normally it looks fine or even great. People normally think of the most extreme jobs as the norm. A good example is the YouTube channel Crazy Pieces (my niece loves them). The mother had Botox done & it looks great on her imo.

Can a physically unattractive man attract women?
Might just be me being horrible, insecure, etc but if I found out my girl wasn't initially physically attracted to me when we first met, I'd have to end it.

People think this is a good thing??
Remember, they believe the Democrats entire government is corrupt and involved in some big conspiracy. Trump writing all these EOs is good bc he's fighting back against the elites that hurt him and our country through corruption & wokeness. He's just having to do all of this to fix things.

Long time lurker. First time poster.
Good question. Since this is an unc, his sag is maintained by the belt. The baggier jeans usually need an anchor point. This is different from the newer gen where the sag is maintained by the sheer audacity of how tight the skinnies are.
Also to note, belts are also used for fashion or clout. It's common to see a fake diamond encrusted belt or a fake Gucci/LV. Normally anything with some clout & a thicker width is acceptable. So it looks even more abnormal to use a skinny grandpa belt in the fit.

1) The El Salvador deportation deported temporary legal residents (awaiting immigration trials) without any due process to one of the worst prisons in the world-- a prison that is outside US jurisdiction where they cannot appeal. All of this seemingly done with weak accusations & evidence then rushed to try to get around a court order. Due process is part of our constitution & parts of that constitution apply to citizens, noncitizens, and even illegals. This act was a clear violation of rights facilitated by the president.
2) Two very strong reasons. The supreme courts ruling conveniently made it very difficult to continue charges & the cases were dropped/paused on the precedent of not investigating a sitting president. He didn't beat them.
3) I didn't talk about the "terrorism" stuff bc it's dishonestly framed. But my quick opinion on the Tesla drama is protest good terrorism bad. I'm not going deeper than that bc it'd be too much to type.
4) Again you're describing Jan 6th. I haven't made a claim about Jan 6th. I'm referring to the Fake Elector Plot where he sent fake, unrecognized electors pretending to be real electors to try to steal/overturn the election.
5) I'm not even entertaining that Trump is less corrupt than Dems when Elon exists and you've not said a word about his Elector Scheme & related issues. And I have zero idea of wym about Turkey.

Do you expect me to disagree with you that Trump empirically won the election lol? Since we're just throwing bait, how about this: Trump should've been legally barred from running in 2024. His participation in the Georgia call and Fake Elector plot should've been the end of him in government. And I'll throw another one out too: Trump should be impeached a third time for his participation in the current El Salvador deportation.

Honestly, I fundamentally disagree with almost everything in that statement.

The name is literally not going to stay that way (assuming US institutions are still the same). As soon as a Dem or an old school Cons replaces Trump, the EO will be undone bc EOs have extremely weak staying power. It'd be different if he pushed the change through congress.
The whole tariff thing is ridiculous and benefits nobody. Idk how that relates to this.

Doesn't matter if I'm a clown or not it officially has been changed
That's right, no one nation owns that international body of water. Therefore no nation has the ability to unilaterally rename those waters. Sure they can tell themselves it's called xyz, but to have a name officially recognized you have to go through an international processes. A singular country deciding on a whim to rename a body of water holds no ground internationally and, in this case, it seems to hold little weight internally as the majority of the population thinks it's ridiculous.
2
Caught by my friend off her cruise ship balcony last night in the Gulf of Mexico
Again you cannot unilaterally change an international landmark so why are you linking me the US gov essentially restating the EO and that an executive branch is complying 😭
This shouldn't even be an argument, it's just not how this works.

Me: Gives you the "official" process from a published Harvard PhD professor with specialties in international relations & international law
You: Responds by giving me the opinion of a publicly traded company that donated $1 million dollars to the president's inauguration that issues the EO.
And again that's only a regional change in a single app as obvious appeasement to the President.
You shouldn't even be glad he's doing things such as this via EO bc it can easily be undone by the next admin. A real leader & president should be able to pass legislation-- especially so with a majority.

SIS Professor Hansong Li PhD, "To change the ‘Gulf of Mexico’ to the ‘Gulf of America’ internationally, the United States would have to do several things, starting with consolidating a ‘united front’ with the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) and the United Nations Group of Experts on Geographical Names (UNGEGN.) The US would then need to score diplomatic agreements with Mexico, Cuba, and other Mesoamerican and Caribbean countries, which is unlikely, since they are mired too deeply in trade disputes now to consider water names. Another necessary step would be to align all the geospatial datasets and navigation tools, which can be achieved within the US but would be impossible to enforce outside of US jurisdiction. Finally, the US would need to push for sweeping changes in publications, especially textbooks for use in public and private education, which is unfeasible because education is either public and decentralized or simply privatized." [American University].
None of this was done. All Trump did was place an EO which, like everything else he's done by EO, can technically be undone in 4yrs. So I don't see how this is "officially changed."
