You'll need somewhere to live right? Might as well set two birds free with one cage break.

Which country can support the largest multiple of its current population?
 in  r/geography  Jan 24 '24

It has a GDP double that of Ethiopa which has a population of 123 million. I think they'll manage.

Wife works at hospital and they had lunch catered today. She brought home some leftovers. She swears it’s chicken. Should I believe her?

Sure is chicken, just been removed from the armpit fold of an obese man. Dig in.

New Zealand. It's the size of Japan with only 5 million people. Could handle 180 million.

Rātana Pā rep on Seymour's absence: 'Not going to be missed'
 in  r/newzealand  Jan 24 '24

48,000 members with sway on the Maori electorate/seats. Formed an alliance with Labour in the 30s. Kind of a Christian cult which has pushed for Treaty redresses etc over the years. Pretty much one of the big hui/Iwi stop offs for politicians to try and hoodwink Maori. Labour took it all a bit too far though, and the tail ended up wagging the dog. They started believing their own bullshit and nosedived the party into the ground.

Trick is wait till a massive recession or dip to buy. In the meantime chuck it into an index fund.

No go tell them to shut up or take their radio. I've stormed onto a few sites in my undies before.

Great for buying Vaseline and cucumbers at the same time though. I don't need that checkout-girl judgment. She doesn't know my consumer requirements!

What was the theory? Thought animals always formed hierarchies in the wild, or at least males compete over breeding areas etc.

Golriz is singlehandedly keeping retail crime in the news a one woman crime spree. What are you even talking about?

They're trying everything aren't they.

They don't need collateral, when ever they need money they sell more fake shares. MMs are not required to close FTDs. By design.

$100 USD for a DRS transfer from Sharesies
 in  r/NZGME  Jan 23 '24

Yeah painful as it is, this is the best option. Unfortunately the selling is what the SHFs want. Especially at a loss.

I guess the buying more and DRSing makes up for it though. You can currently buy 7 shares for $100 USD.

If you haven't figured it out yet spoiler: The US govt is not going to let a single stock crash the entire economy. Final. Forget about it. What they might do is allow a slow and steady progression depending on actual company performance. If shit gets volatile they will suspend trading and even delist the stock.

Yes there are naked shorts. Yes it's dodgy. Yes the US govt is pretending it's not happening to maintain "stability".

Has anyone complained to the Companies office? This is tantamount to extortion. There's also possibly the commerce commission. This reeks of Sharesies selling shares they do not own. Maybe even a class action.

I don't think we should let this stand man!

Person dead after fatal Train accident, Meadowbank
 in  r/auckland  Jan 23 '24

Train to big day out from britomart around 2005-2007. Was absolutely packed, shoulder to shoulder. For some reason it just stopped about 100m from Penrose station. There must have been 2000 drunk people on that train in the sweltering summer heat. No news no announcements no toilets. People started crossing off gigs they were missing out on. Girls really started to need the toilets. Emergency buttons were pushed and doors opened. Drunk girls pissing all over the railway tracks. Driver couldn't get through the chaos to reset the doors, more people evacuated.

It was then I knew Auckland Transport was run by idiots and always will be.

The complete lack of planning for big events in Auckland never ceases to amaze me.

No way man she's doing time NACT has to show they're tough on crime. If they don't they'll be forever labeled flip-flopping pussies that don't stand by their words.
