They really don’t want us to vote.
I mean yes, but there are other reasons.
I can hide now. Seriously. My maiden name gave away my ethnicity. I’m very white passing. There has been a substantial change in the way I’m perceived and treated in professional spaces now with a “white” past name vs my previous Hispanic one.
I also wanted to separate myself from my biological father as much as possible. The last name, given the machismo world view of that side of my family, was coveted. Ridding myself of that last name was freeing.

Welp. Looks like we gotta think outside the box if they pass this. We should all grow lots of plants, but it would be a shame if we grew ones that were harmful when consumed in large quantities…

Starting to plan 3-5 years out from now; we want to be out of the U.S.
This is what I worry about. However, my husband has a pathway to German legacy citizenship (his grandparents were Jewish, imprisoned and stripped of citizenship)
So for him, it’ll be fine. I would probably be okay, given no criminal history, my education, etc.
But who knows. So many things can change—for better or worse. I’m hoping this dude is out of our govt soon and the cult fractures because we can’t deal with this much longer if there’s no way out.

K you’re really just proving how uneducated you are bye

Why the hell would you want to thank him?
What a waste of money. Not just the car, but the vinyl. If he goes any faster than 72 mph, that whole bumper will just fly right off.

You’re missing the point.
They may be manipulative in garnering sympathy. That’s because it’s a learned behavior. I’m not saying don’t scrutinize behavior. I’m saying we should just view actual living people as complex humans with backgrounds we don’t actually know anything about. I mean, maybe if we were just nicer to people and viewed them as living human beings with just as many thoughts and emotions we have ourselves, maybe we wouldn’t be experiencing the levels of violence we do. Idk. Change starts from within. So, I can be downvoted that’s fine. It still doesn’t give anyone brownie points vilifying anyone else. Are they harming anyone? Are they trying to kidnap Carly? Or are OTHERS doxxing her?
See what I mean?
Like, sure. The post spun towards him at the end but that’s because Americans have literally been TAUGHT (therefore have learned) to be self-oriented instead of other-oriented.
My years of study in sociology tells me this whole thread isn’t the way we create change, but what does an intern in the field studying under experts know.

Teen Mom Ashley Jones wins sole legal and physical custody of daughter Holly as divorce from Bar Smith finally granted
Yall are disappointing. Complaining about things that have no relevance in your life because you refuse to look at Tyler and Cait as humans and because you want to virtue signal (and not actually be virtuous) is the reason why we have a dude like trump in office. Do better. SMH.

Uh… are you a eugenicist? Because I mean, it’s been proven time and time again. So. Maybe listen to experts who report ethically tested empirical evidence.
Yall can downvote me all you want. It still doesn’t make any of you decent people lmfao

Raskin: We even have the right to call the president deranged for crashing our economy, destroying $6 trillion of wealth and turning our 401(k) Into a 201 (K). And the press has the right to call the Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of Mexico.
He really does seem like such a genuine dude. He’s one of the few politicians I genuinely want to meet (political sociology major) and that’s not common for me to say after learning what I have about politics lol
Raskin, Crockett, Bernie, AOC, and Harris.
They all represent the People well, exercise political ambition like a rational person would, are humane and ethical without claiming to be a saint, and every one of them is wicked smart.
Man, we really do have some political superstars this generation.

Celebrating dropped charges, Mayor Adams promotes Trump FBI director Kash Patel’s book
I think so? At least I hope. But in this regime, good political and legal strategy is necessary. Being so out in the open about it does bolster a case. When that case is? Who knows. But, I do think this all may just be entering a file somewhere.
Remember, while the federal courts can’t (won’t) really do much in terms of criminally charging the executive, state courts can.

Will the hands off protest actually make an impact?
So, I study political sociology academically. It’s my senior year.
In the past, holding a sign on a sidewalk didn’t do much. If all we do is hold signs on sidewalks forever, it won’t do much.
But right now, in places like NYC, Buffalo, Boston, Minnesota (and that is only mentioning the few off the top of my head) people were taking up actual space by blocking roads and causing an inconvenience, actively doing democracy. If inconvenient occupation continues, the government has to start answering.
The reason it’s white people out there and the black community is sitting this one out is because whenever a black person tries to do democracy, they’re met with authoritarian rule. The government overreacted to them exercising their civil liberties. White people exercising their constitutional rights has the ability to create a safe enough space in the democratic system FOR the black community to join.
White folks are pretty new at this but they are pissed. They’ve also not been systemically oppressed, and therefore the deeply held ancestral rage hasn’t quite been formed within them. We can’t forget that we truly do have people out there protesting who never saw NOT protesting as a privilege—they just knew the right existed if and when they needed it.
I understand the cynicism but this is (quite literally) democracy at work. Justice is not swift but it will be sweeping.

Whistleblower Exposes Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Amazon Executives’ Involvement in Election Interference—Blocked from Legal Representation
Honestly, The Atlantic would probably run it… they are in the business of exposing the assault on democracy and, well, their relationship with Trump Admin may just create the perfect environment for a warmer welcome.

I made the mistake of looking at my 401k today and well, I'm just at a loss for words. It's grown so well over the years. I've put the max in, and in just two days, a very large amount is just... Gone. Can't talk to family about it, they are all part of the reason it happened. I just want to scream.
Tell them. And say thank you for robbing you of a retirement.
They need to know that their choices affect you personally. Everyone’s choices have some impact on another. We can no longer suffer from American Individualism/Exceptionalism. It’s killing us.

While I understand the scrutiny, let’s not forget to view them in context. I’m not trying to defend any actions, I totally get where everyone is coming from. But as a former Youth Advocate, I can’t help but interject. Idk, they’re humans and do deserve the right to reserve some dignity. Tyler and Cait went through birth trauma at 16 years old, roughly 10 years before their brains were even fully formed. They came from toxic family environments and still navigate those toxic relationships today.
Did they give them up for adoption thus voluntarily revoking their rights? Yes. Does that mean it hurts any less? No. Should we see that they’re still grieving this, trying to heal old wounds while new ones are forming? I think so.
We listen, we can judge, but like… let’s not add to their existing trauma. Judgement on this scale can kill people. I’ve seen it happen.
Their kids will discover this stuff one day. Let’s just… try to do better as a society, please.

Thousands of protesters have flooded the streets of Boston demonstrating in the anti-Trump "Hands Off!" rally. It's one of 1,200 other protests unfolding in all 50 states across the country.
This brings tears to my eyes 🥹 ugh. Seeing all of this makes me proud to be an American again. This is who we truly are.

My Congressman's Response to Deportations Without Due Process and Judge Boasberg's Ruling
Any time! Their response was so egregious that I couldn’t not send something. I have been furiously writing every person I can get contact info for in between my assignments lmao I am so sorry you have to deal with them as a Representative. This really does showcase a sort of “privilege” in a sense. I’m in a very blue state with a Governor who will fight for me. So seriously, anything I can do to help. We won’t go down without a fight!
It helps that I’m actively learning it though. Applying this in real time is a win/win. I can help my fellow Americans by opening a can of Constitutional Whoop-Ass on a fascist, showcase an exercising of civil liberties, AND I get to add things to my student portfolio.
Edit: spelling/building on a point.

I’ve been saying from the jump that if Trump we’re to even place his pinky toe on Canadian soil, Buffalo will be elbows up all day everyday. We’d be Buffalo, Ontario SO FAST.

Here it is. Use it if you'd like. Nothing burns my ass more than mediocre men in positions of power they're unqualified to serve in.
(For some reason it wont let me post the text, so here's a photo of it I guess lol)

Stay blessed, stay snarky, and never let these dudes get away with feeling like they're smart lol. None of what they are doing is normal.

My Congressman's Response to Deportations Without Due Process and Judge Boasberg's Ruling
Hey, so I study Constitutional Law through a sociological framework... I will be commenting shortly with what I can muster. I have yet to be "scholar" status, but students can save the world, so... give me a sec. Because this warrants a response. He's trying to use the Constitution like he knows it and clearly he's cherry picking it.

Bro what kind of joke is this. Seriously. "The numbers don't add up"... their own numbers from the last election dont even add up!!! This is the most insidious display of manipulation I have ever seen.
