I’m working on this cabin and garden painting and I’ve just mapped out where i want my flowers to go- i didn’t really think about it before starting - and now im worried that this might be way too crowded. also is the cat too small? I know the building doesn’t have the best proportions, i kinda eyeballed it and im too lazy to go back now. any thoughts?

Homages to basquiat are very clear and his work is what made me start painting, I use chinese language and physics equations to talk about the future of solar energy among other things.

please ignore the content itself honestly lol, these are just my three most recent pieces. Are my lines too heavy? too shaky? are my eyes too big? is my shading subpar? Those are all technical things I can work on, I know, but I'm starting to fear that the style itself is just irredeemable and that I need to relearn how to draw from the ground up... I'm afraid of the answer but I think I need to know lol

I tried doing a stand-off, but something about it feels off and I’m not even sure ‘lifeless’ is the right word or if the better word is ‘stiff’.

Hi Reddit! Just posting to see what advice/crit you guys could offer. I followed a reference for this but ended up having to change some things like: torso length, arm length/postion, and hand pose/position. I’ve been drawing for forever but never seriously studied anatomy. I feel like the right (or left technically) arm is too slim, but the model’s arms were also pretty thin. But it just feels wrong to me. How can I tweak it so it feels a bit more realistic? They’re supposed to be wearing a sheer robe as well, but I stopped drawing it on the other side since I wanted to make sure the anatomy was at the very least, okay.

Hey, so this is my girlfriends art and she wanted to know how she can improve her art, she does has only one piece that she would like to show but she just wants to know how to stay consistent with art, and how can she move towards drawing from imagination instead of only having to use a reference, thought it would be a good idea to get other opinions

Impressionist Landscape, Acrylic and oil pastel 8x12 (ish?) Any advice on making this more appealing to the average consumer? Hoping to make prints of this for a few art fairs.

Almost 10 years out of “art school” and I’ve finally gotten the courage to paint seriously again and dive deeper into my practice. Idk what it means yet it’s just a silly portrait of my bf so far

Gonna be a big body of text so bear with me hear guys.

So, I'd like to preface that I'm definitely not a beginner within the art sphere in general---not at all. However, I've just starting learning how to draw more animatedly beginning of last year in order to be able to draw my OC's and whatnot. I usually have more experience in realism and animal anatomy, which is why I've listed this as "beginner"---I quite literally am a beginner for this style.

I am also really new to ibisPaintX, so my coloring isn't really well done as I typically do traditional art. Could use some help there as well.

Now, onto the "styles" posted above. First warning: not looking for advice on anatomy. I know it's not the best, I've been trying my best to study poses and use references like I did when learning animals. I've got that base covered. What I'm really looking for is advice on eye style, dynamic posing, proportions (not in the sense of anatomy but in the sense of stylized proportions), and coloring techniques.

The first two images are the style I use when studying poses and anatomy. The eyes are more cartoony and the face is round and short. The hair is solid, with minimal shading. Same color concepts go for the rest of the image, and same concepts are applied to the second image.

The third and fourth images are ones I more recently started making. I'm a bit iffy on the eyes and overall proportions of these drawings. I definitely don't hate it but don't love it either. I have swings where either I hate the eyes or I hate the face shapes. I also find the fourth one's shading to be far too simple, especially since one element is the entire focus of the drawing. Just feels like a 7 year old drew it.

Fifth one is probably the style I'm most comfortable with. I use it all of the times for my OC's and other shenanigans. The proportions aren't the best but I feel like the stylization fits the characters the best. Overall the one I feel the least bad about.

Now...the last one. Whoo boy. Whatever I just explained in the last few paragraphs, this last drawing is an amalgamation of all of that and I hate it. The eyes look out of place, definitely. Will not be combining that with this style again. The hair texture is atrocious and either the hair is ginormous or the face is too small. Obviously I still don't understand the physics of clothes, and the girl on right looks so...pale. Literally the only thing I like about that drawing is the dynamic posing, which was wasted on that dumpsterfire

So yeah. That's my personal breakdown and why I'm looking for feedback. I'm wondering if one style is the best---or if an amalgamation of the best elements of a few would be best moving forward, or even something else entirely. Any thoughts?

How does this look? Do they look too stiff? Are the proportions correct? I can’t decide if she looks too tiny compared to him. And I think her fist looks weird, but idk how to fix it. Any criticism/tips/ideas to improve are welcome!
