My 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack Stage 2 – Beast of a Car with Gremlins

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to share my experience with my brand new 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack Stage 2. I'm in Fresno County, CA, and I swear I might be the only one with this car around here. Everywhere I go, people are surprised, asking questions, taking pictures—this thing turns heads. I've had more compliments on it in 2 weeks than I got in 4 years with my 2021 Charger Redeye—until it was stolen by some lowlifes 3 weeks ago.

The rise in Hellcat thefts is what finally pushed me toward EVs. I miss that Redeye, but honestly, I didn’t lose much besides the engine. This new Daytona is my daily, and I’m actually saving money now.

First Impressions:

It looks amazing.

Interior is comfortable—my cousin is 6'1" and fits in the back just fine.

Huge trunk space.

Driving feel is very Hellcat-like. It rumbles, moves, and handles like a muscle car should.

Sound-wise: In Drag or Track mode, it sounds great at idle and when you’re rolling. But if you try to rev it while stopped, it genuinely sounds like someone stepped on a cat's tail. Not ideal, but as soon as you start moving—it redeems itself.

Now for the annoying stuff (all software fixable):

  1. Passive entry stopped working after a car wash and hasn’t worked since. Settings are enabled.

  2. Key fob takes a few tries to lock/unlock, even with fresh batteries.

  3. Active suspension faults randomly show up, sometimes preventing the car from starting. One time at a car wash, it wouldn't go into "ready" mode. Blowing air helped once, but now it happens at random.

  4. Dash cam doesn’t start recording automatically on startup, even though that setting is turned on.

  5. Navigation screen behind the steering wheel shows “can’t load navigation.”

  6. Settings don’t persist after shutdown. I have to re-enable custom drive mode, auto high beams, etc. every time. My old Charger remembered them—this one doesn't.

  7. Fuse box has no labels, and the manual doesn’t help either. Wanted to check for the passive entry issue, but no guidance.

  8. No 24/7 camera recording, even though the car is loaded with cameras.

  9. Dodge key card doesn’t work. Came with the car and has instructions, but there's no menu or function for it.

  10. No digital key support, and the app is mostly useless. Battery status never loads, and it constantly errors out.

I genuinely love this car, but Dodge really needs to polish the ownership experience with some solid OTA updates. This thing has so much potential, but it’s rough around the edges right now.

Anyone else having similar issues? Or am I the early guinea pig for this beast in Central Cali?

How would you guys go about fixing this? Just happened last night at a car meet, guy took off couldn’t find him after. Trying to get the best estimate of what this may cost to fix. The damage isn’t that bad but it’s bothering me like a mf. Just got this last month as well.

$350/m 2yr lease on Dodge Charger Daytona R/T EV?

Post image

This is the best offer ive seen so far pitting 4 sales managers against each other: $9,840 to rent this car for 2 years.

But thats only $1,100 over my goal of $8,750, or 25 payments of $350.

Am I crazy for asking them to discount these 40% to lease it?

(I know this car sucks and internet hates it, my other car is an 02 Camaro SS 6spd for balance)

Unfortunately only got this one pic. I think it looks interesting for sure. Definitely the lowest Durango I’ve seen too

Need some feedback for a new tranny 05 ram 1500

I got a 2005 ram 1500 with the 5.7, the motor runs great but it’s got 150k miles on the original transmission. I can feel the truck just doesn’t pull like it used to plus rpm surges when shifting so not sure how much longer it’s got maybe a few thousand miles before it gets worse. If I’m gonna replace the tranny I’d prefer not to throw another 545 in there considering this is more of a project truck now. Need some recommendations on trannys that bolt up to the 5.7

Rebuilt hellcat charger

How much would you pay for a front end collision hellcat but is now rebuilt? It runs and drive and has been driven by the current owner for 30k over miles. I see decent value in the car since he is selling it for 27k it’s a 19 with 20k miles. Wanted to see what do y’all think and what should I look out for? Planned on getting a mechanic to look at it as well

Temperature control button stuck

Howdy folks! Need some advice.

Few months ago i spilled some oj on the center console. Quickly cleaned the spill and forgot about it. Then few weeks ago the down climate control button started acting up. It wouldn’t retract when pressed making the temp go all the way to low.

I used wd40 contact cleaner to fix it but that didn’t really do much. Then few days ago it got completely stuck. I had to push it really hard and even then it barely retracted.

I am now using the screen to adjust the climate. Last thing i wanna do is take out the whole panel.

Would really appreciate any advice on how to fix it.
