Hey everyone,
Just wanted to share my experience with my brand new 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack Stage 2. I'm in Fresno County, CA, and I swear I might be the only one with this car around here. Everywhere I go, people are surprised, asking questions, taking pictures—this thing turns heads. I've had more compliments on it in 2 weeks than I got in 4 years with my 2021 Charger Redeye—until it was stolen by some lowlifes 3 weeks ago.
The rise in Hellcat thefts is what finally pushed me toward EVs. I miss that Redeye, but honestly, I didn’t lose much besides the engine. This new Daytona is my daily, and I’m actually saving money now.
First Impressions:
It looks amazing.
Interior is comfortable—my cousin is 6'1" and fits in the back just fine.
Huge trunk space.
Driving feel is very Hellcat-like. It rumbles, moves, and handles like a muscle car should.
Sound-wise: In Drag or Track mode, it sounds great at idle and when you’re rolling. But if you try to rev it while stopped, it genuinely sounds like someone stepped on a cat's tail. Not ideal, but as soon as you start moving—it redeems itself.
Now for the annoying stuff (all software fixable):
Passive entry stopped working after a car wash and hasn’t worked since. Settings are enabled.
Key fob takes a few tries to lock/unlock, even with fresh batteries.
Active suspension faults randomly show up, sometimes preventing the car from starting. One time at a car wash, it wouldn't go into "ready" mode. Blowing air helped once, but now it happens at random.
Dash cam doesn’t start recording automatically on startup, even though that setting is turned on.
Navigation screen behind the steering wheel shows “can’t load navigation.”
Settings don’t persist after shutdown. I have to re-enable custom drive mode, auto high beams, etc. every time. My old Charger remembered them—this one doesn't.
Fuse box has no labels, and the manual doesn’t help either. Wanted to check for the passive entry issue, but no guidance.
No 24/7 camera recording, even though the car is loaded with cameras.
Dodge key card doesn’t work. Came with the car and has instructions, but there's no menu or function for it.
No digital key support, and the app is mostly useless. Battery status never loads, and it constantly errors out.
I genuinely love this car, but Dodge really needs to polish the ownership experience with some solid OTA updates. This thing has so much potential, but it’s rough around the edges right now.
Anyone else having similar issues? Or am I the early guinea pig for this beast in Central Cali?
