Discussion If you are having trouble with tempered Mitsu follow these tips:
1 Go into the quest launcher settings and set player limit to 2 and only support hunters. This allows you to have at least one support npc that if he faints it doesn't count as a penalty and at the same time keep the palico active so he can heal/revive you and draw attention to himself. 2 Opt for defensive ingredients like Vegetables, Sharp Kunafa Cheese and Eastern Honey/Wild Herb. I don't know if Wild Herb works to mitigate the bubble status so feel free to swap it out for a third ingredient of your choice. 3 If you happen to hunt Mitsu in the Forest starting from area 12, when he moves through area 13 try to be quick to trigger the dangerous rock trap as soon as he passes under it. That's a lot of free damage. I noticed that Mitsu swims very slowly when he moves, so it shouldn't be too difficult. I don't know exactly what areas he can be in at the start of the hunt and what paths he uses to move so this point might not be very useful. 4 Go with the weapon you feel most comfortable with. For example i went with thunder SnS because it is extremely easy to execute perfect guard and the slide is super useful for both defense and mobility. I know that Mitsu is weak to Thunder/Dragon. Obviously capture it to make the whole thing a little quicker and easier.
Following these tips my hunt was relatively easy. 12 minutes without playing great. I hope this helps.
