Orca Pod
Saw these beauties while on the Bremerton - Seattle ferry earlier. As a new-ish PNW resident, this made my year.

Former Southerners
I moved to the Washington coast after living in the Deep South for my entire life. I don’t know if it’s the drastic change in climate or what, but I’ve never been sicker. I was almost never sick when I lived in the south, but I’ve had to call into work several times just in the last 6 months. Do any other former southerners, or transplants from other different climates, have this issue?

Where should my friends and I getaway in the PNW for a week?
Hey guys, my friends and I are all guys in our mid 20s working remotely looking to have a week long gateway somewhere in the PNW sometime within the next month or two. We all have our own lives now since college but we get together about 1-3 times a year. Some ideas we had are renting a house somewhere off of the Oregon coast like off of Cannon Beach or a house off of a lake in WA. Budget isn't an issue.
I grew up in southern California and spent a good amount of time in Arcata and Humboldt county the past year and I loved it there for reference.
Some pluses but definitely not a requirement by any means would be having access to shops or the local town without a car, a young crowd for us to mingle with, and easy access to the trees/ocean.

What is the mid May weather like? Also Looking for plus size hiking clothing suggestions.
My family and I are coming from the east coast next month to the PNW for our first visit. We are taking a 10 day road trip from Seattle to San Francisco. Stops in Mt. Rainier, Columbia Gorge, Cannon Beach, Fern Canyon. Plus day trips in Seattle, San Fran, & Portland. What can we expect for weather?
Looking for plus size women’s hiking gear suggestions. Brands of pants, tops, jackets, & socks. Already got some waterproof hiking shoes.

Is Mt. Rainier National Park good to visit in mid-April?
I'm traveling to the Pacific Northwest in a week or so. How is the weather situation within the park. I don't plan on hiking much, more just stopping a bit and visiting the easily accessible areas, but I'm wondering if there is much snow and even worth visiting. I also heard of an iconic scenic drive? Is that safe to do if it is even open right now?
I'm from New York by the way for weather comparison.

How is this itinerary for Labor Day weekend?
Hi, coming to PNW for the first time (I'm from Europe) and I'm trying to find a balance between seeing the beautiful nature the region has to offer and having enough time to actually enjoy what I'm seeing. Ideally I'd like to disperse camp in a rented van so if you know any good areas to do it, please let me know. I'll arrive in Portland on Thursday and leaving on Tuesday.
Here is my plan if the weather is somewhat good (sunny, cloudy, light rain)
Friday:
- Columbia River Gorge (Latourell Falls and Oneonta Gorge or Tunnel Falls)
- Relax at Lost lake or Trillium lake
- Little Crater Lake
- Sleep near near mount hood national forest
Saturday:
- Silver Falls State Park (what hikes/trails???)
- Sleep near Willamette National Forest
Sunday:
- Hike Mckenzie river trail to Tamolitch Falls (Blue Pool) / Terwilliger Hot Springs / Proxy Falls
- Drive to Cape Lookout, sunset and sleep nearby
Monday:
- Drive to Ecola State Park, enjoy the coast
- Sleep near Ecola State Park (where??)
If the weather is rainy, I was thinking about going from Portland to the Olympic peninsula and exploring Olympic National Park, and the Washington coast.
What do you think of these plans? Am I going to good spots? Is there anything I should add/remove from my itinerary? Let me know!

Scenic Flight Around The Puget Sound
My girlfriend and i are doing a scenic flight around the puget sound and olympics on 4/5 around 3:30pm.
The weather is supposed to be cloudy. Can any pilots or hobby pilots provide some insight on what to expect? Will we be able to fly below the cloud wall?
