Steelers will take DL in the first round. Here's why:
The Steelers will take Kenneth Grant if he is there. If Grant isnt there, likely Nolen or Harmon if they havent been picked.
Steelers are a super easy organization to read. Most of the time their first round pick has had a ton of face time with Tomlin, Khan, and the rest of the staff during the draft cycle. All of these 3 DL prospects have had a lot of face time. They brought in Andy Weidl from the Eagles, and are clearly looking to build through the trenches in similar fashion. They have drafted 5 linemen (4 o, 1 d) in the last 2 drafts since they have taken over. In those drafts they have also prioritized strong/deep position groups and always seem willing to stop a slide. Other trends for this GM/AGM seem to be a strong adherence to positional value and not over drafting a need (one of my main reasons I don't see them taking QB or RB unless there is a slide). I dont need to tell yall that DL is a clear need, too. Larry O was a cap casualty and Cam is getting up there. They specifically got crushed by the run last year and do not have a natural NT, thus Grant. Plus Grant is super athletic and has pass rush upside (justifies positional value over a normal NT) and this frees Benton up for duties he has shown strengths towards in his first 2 years (pass rushing 3 tech that can play the run but doesn't excel against double teams). Perfect time to draft a DL while Cam is still here
