That follow-up barely counts for anything when it's used as an opportunity to humblebrag ("I'm a man on honor") and backtrack ("well ackshually Trump 2.0 is very different, other than that I was totally right, you know! ☝️🤓"). Nowadays I am finding it increasingly difficult to be forgiving of people who believe, trust, and worship Trump, especially after the decades of Trump proving himself to be an evil charlatan.
I hate Trump just as much as everyone else, but I like to take these things at face value. He’s not implying “who could have seen it coming?” He admits he was wrong, simple as that.
Doesn’t matter that he does. He should be taken at face value. If he says things that look like he is planning to commit voter fraud, force a 3rd term, do stupid shit like tariffs. It should have been taken at face value, even if he genuinely never would have done it.
We shouldn’t be voting for people like that, hard stop. They shouldn’t even be allowed in politics.
If you can’t take them at face value, they can’t be trusted, which means he shouldn’t be in the goddamn seat he is in right now.
I’m all for nuance but I’m not a goddamn mind reader. I either have to trust what he says or not. It is pretty pointless and in fact stupid to try and decipher if someone in politics is lying about specific topics. A politician you can’t trust, is not someone who should be in power, simple as that.
And I know, I know, that eliminates about 90% of them if were being generous. Well thats the problem isn’t it?
They twist themselves into knots trying to believe he's a business genius and not the incompetent, Semi-literate, narcissistic conman who can't even describe what a tariff is 9 years later or tell you what a trade deficit is.
What the fuck do they see when I see him ramble nonsense with a ridiculous combover and his face painted orange?
Fuck knows, I think he is the result of many more problems. As much as he is a major issue, we should focus on the fact that he made it all the way there to begin with.
