🌶️Satire. Probably. Reminder for bus drivers to please crank the AC

Upvotes

There’s nothing better than coming out of a cold office you’ve been in all day, into the brisk evening and then stepping onto a frigid bus.

Keep the AC on full blast as low as possible please 🙏

Employment How to get second job/weekend work

Hey guys, just wondering if anybody has any tips or knows of any places where I can find weekend only work?

I currently have a day job (3:30am to 11:30am) at a gas yard but sadly the pay just isn't enough and I'm desperately trying to make enough money to escape my psychotic family.

I can only do weekend or possibly afternoons Monday to Friday but can't seem to find anything. :/ Any tips?

Can you help me? Help

Hi! This is my first post and may be some what unrelated to the group, but I am from Brisbane. I’m young, poor, (24F) and am extremely at the brink. I don’t mean for this to be depressing but I don’t know how to reach out. So please, if any locals could give me information on what to do or where to go that would be greatly appreciated. My issue is alcoholism. I have never reached out before until last night, they told me to just call an ambulance and after hearing that response I thought 1:fair enough 2: I was asking for help. So please if anyone can recommend me to a helpful service, I’d appreciate it so much. (I can not afford rehab)

Embattled Australian casino group, Star Entertainment, has signed a $300 million deal with US casino giant, Bally's, to save the company from financial collapse.

As a Vic ive been following this a bit.. never been there but what's wrong with the place? Is it too upmarket? I would have thought is too big to fail but there doesnt seem much support for it to succeed.

News Brisbane CheQpoint shutdown by liberal goverment

Post image

This post is going to be more of a rant then a professional post your more commonly see on here. But it's all just so disheartening to keep seeing news like this and our country going backwards, I dont/can't even feel angry any more I just feel all so tired and done. This great service literally just picked a massive batch of fake M30's laced with nitaziness, not fentanyl NIZAINES for crying out loud. Australia now has more nitazine use per capita then the US, think about that.

I was there at bowen hills last Friday getting something tested, it was actually my first time going and that's how I actually found out it was there last day. It was so sad seeing all the social workers and volunteers try and put out a brave hopeful face saying that it was all just a speed bump and that they will be back but you could see the sadness and worry in there eyes.

Lastly I just wanted to say that it is a hard time on everyone at the moment and it would be nice if we could just put down our prejudice even for a moment and show some empathy with your fellow man. You don't know what some people have been through. And also before the 1 or 2 comments that are always present on these types of post calling people like me and others with similar health issues junkie scum of the earth just take amount and have a look at your own life and see whether your doing enough for your own community and family.

Anyway thank you CheQpoint for all your hard work and the countless lives you saved we hope to see you back again one day ❤️.

Can you help me? Brisbane runners - what are you favorite long run spots?

Anything more than 10km, but ideally 20-30km. I have been doing the river track between New Farm park and Go Between bridge which is fantastic but starting to get a bit repetitive.

Help First time in an accident, confused and stressed – Right2Drive says it’s free hire, should I be worried?

Hi everyone, I was recently involved in a rear-end accident on the highway in Brisbane. The other driver was 100% at fault — they rear-ended me and have admitted liability. My car was towed after the crash.

I don’t have my own insurance (not even third-party), so I wasn’t sure what to do next. A day later, I was contacted by a company called Right2Drive, saying they can provide me with a hire car and the cost will be covered by the at-fault party’s insurance.

I’ve read mixed things online about Right2Drive — some say it’s legit and helpful, others warn about hidden risks or potential legal complications if the at-fault insurer refuses to pay.

Since I’m not insured myself, I’m really cautious about signing anything that might come back to me later.

My questions are: 1. Has anyone in a similar situation used Right2Drive and had a good (or bad) experience? 2. Will I be liable if the at-fault insurer refuses to cover the rental? 3. Should I insist on confirming with the at-fault party’s insurer before accepting the hire car?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. This is my first accident in Australia and I’m honestly a bit lost.

Thanks in advance!

Can you help me? Help me find disability friendly restaurant - level: HARD

Ok ladies and gents I need help with a restaurant or pub, affordable, inner Brisbane is best but, south north or west side is ok but not too far any way. Nice food preferably!

We have 8-10 people arriving in power chairs so we need: - enough parking or wide street parking nearby - wide doors, wide hallways/rooms - big rooms and tables we can arrange people at - disabled toilets

Bit of a tough one but hoping a place or two springs to mind ! Thanks!
