Hi, I'm looking to buy a Wavebone Headquarter desk, but I'm wondering if there will be enough legroom if I move the midi keyboard stand under the desk. I'm not a tall guy, so I don't need any really big legroom.

However, in all the videos and photos I've seen, it's only halfway back under the table, and nowhere is there a photo where it's backed all the way deep under the table.

I was thinking that maybe there is something not visible in the videos and photos that prevents the rack from being pushed that deep under the table.
Perhaps there are owners of this table or someone who knows?

I've owned a downtown building for several years where I give music lessons, have a small downstairs cafe and listening venue, and bookstore. The upstairs has set abandoned for almost 40 years, but lately I've been thinking of putting a small music studio upstairs, I'm not planning on trying to turn this into a national quality studio, I just want to be able to record my own music and some friends.

This is a 110-year-old building, all original hardwood floors (none of them particularly level), bick and stucco walls.

I want to fix up two (already-existing) 20x20ish spaces, one for main mixing/tracking room, and the other for live room.

I know that in an ideal world I would create rooms within rooms, I don't believe I can afford to do that since this is really going to be hobby space more than anything, so I'm looking at the next best options for myself.

I own Ethan Winer's and Gervais's books, and was a member of John Sayers's forums 10 years before they shut down, so I have "ingested" a lot of knowledge I have never applied in any way.

What would recommendations be for my first steps to set up these two rooms? Should I just be doing frequency responses and trying to treat the walls? Should I meet a consultant that is willing to work with me on not building a room within a room for financial reasons? Just looking for some good first steps to start taking in this direction.

Hello, I got myself Rode XCM 50 a year or two ago and it has been going great. Recently I even got a mic arm for it. But I am having trouble setting up the sound for my stream in a way that when I am not cut off when I am making certain sounds or making loud noises while still maintaining a volume that would not make the viewer put their audio higher or much lower. Sometimes it also warbles my voice and I can't help but think it's some setting I have not figured out.

I got burnt out trying to fix it for days, so I came here to ask for help.

I am looking forward to buy some monitors just to listen to music y play while djing in my house. I won’t use them for mastering or mixing. They will be 2-4in (5-10cm) from a wall in a small room. I play mostly house or any electronic music. I have a good deal of the JBL’s for $245 usd or should I buy the Yamahas for $270?? (Both used) Which one should I choose?

I have a building with one 800sqft open room. I’m planning to build a podcast studio in one corner (200sqft), so two of the sides will have walls to hang acoustic treatment panels.

I'm about to get my new subwoofer in, but I currently have a NAS in my setup and I heard that the vibrations from the sub can damage the hard drives. The NAS doesn't support wifi so my options for relocating it are very limited. Does anyone have experience with using a NAS and how far it should be from a subwoofer to be safe?

So I'm building a home studio in a basement. I have the walls and ceiling figured out but the floor is bothering me. This is actually similar to a post a little further down but the difference is I can't afford to have the floor leveled and treated like they described. Most of my budget is wrapped up in the walls and ceiling.

I was thinking about carpet and area rugs On top but the main downside is my chair would be hard to roll around. I know it's seemingly a small thing but it's a pretty big deal to me.

Does anyone have any thoughts or should I just go with the carpet and area rugs?

I am in an apartment right now and have a desk set up where my DAW and mic are, but I want to build a room within a room around my desk and above so I can record vocals anytime and at any level. A buddy was going to help me make something who has experience but that is no longer the case. I know we were going to use 2x4's with a combination of drywall backing for all the panels, and some sort of material on the inside of the 2x4, but it wasn't going to be the toxic material that I read about. Can I get some other advice or things to consider? It would basically be a panel in front of the desk, same size as behind me, and one to the right and left, both the same sides, then either one panel that site on top of those sides, or a couple panels that sits on top. Would this work?

Hi 👋 I have an analogue rythm mk2, tr08 and a microfreak. Do I just need a mixer to a daw to be able to record tracks in one go ? Bit confused with the setup process and what to run it through. I have an amplifier also. At the moment I use the Elektron bridge to record the whole track and then add separate recording into the daw. Is there an easier way?

So I live in a small house with a decent sized basement, and I was thinking of moving my room and studio down there. The only problem is I'm not sure how my speakers are going to interact with a concrete wall. Any suggestions for treatment?

So we are good on almost all levels of the build from rooms, dimension, access, mineral fiber insulation, ventilation/air filtration, free-standing room, triple sheet rock with green glue, equipment, etc. The only thing that’s still not solved is the floor. Right now it’s being built over an acid stained concrete floor but it is not level by any means. Would you just go for area rugs? Or re-level and out wood flooring, or, ideas? Thank you

Goals:

• An office that I can act as a home theatre with my loud new speakers (not exactly but you get the point)
• The living room area would be a Podcast area.

Needs:

The Home Theatre:

A) Soundproofing to allow my family in the first floor to sleep or enjoy their time without my sound reaching them.

Challenge: I don't know if I should soundproof the floor or if it is necessary in the first place or even worth it, it costs $3000 to do it.

B) Soundproofing my noise to the outside street or neighbors and vice verse.

Challenge: I need to have a window for ventilation mainly, but it is very hard to soundproof it (no specialists to do that in my area)

Podcast Area:

C) I want to isolated the outside area so street noises don't reach and ruin the recording.

Challenge: I need the window for ventilation as well, and maybe for natural light for some photography. I saw some tutorials of soundproofing solutions but they're not practical, i.e. you can't remove them instantly or fix them instantly. What I need is either a fully soundproof window (which is not available in my area) or a plug-and-play cover for the window that works 100%.

General Challenge: I am on an extremely tight budget

I am a drummer and would like a separate space for my kit that can be soundproofed. Should I separate it as live and control or should I make a smaller drum booth and have the rest of the room open?

Can anyone help me with this setup? I have thr following gear:

• Roland FP90 piano
• Boss RC10 loop pedal
• Microphone
• Devine MixPad 602 mixer
• 2 studio monitors

I want to be able to loop my Roland FP90 piano and my Microphone. Since the Boss RC1 only has 2 inputs, I have to use a mixer.

How should I all connect this, so I can maintain the stereo image of my Roland FP90 and use my microphone all with my Boss RC1 loop pedal.

And which cables do I need to use where, since I am having issues with high tones coming out of my loop pedal when I use specific cables.

what i would love to do, is make a submix for a consumer videoproject,

and have a good separate headphone mix

a camcorder with mic in input is present, but i need to attenuate the signal quite a bit because of the line signal

i was wondering if mixing on a subgroup, and just lower the output from the mixer to camcorder to prevent clipping the camcorder mic input

also use it for smartphone recording

the reason why i'm thinking to go MG series against AG series that the phone connection signal from those mixers are mono,

the subgroup is stereo ( or just the main out from the MG10x)

so i need a far lower output via or subgroup or main out and a "louder" headphone mix

so should i pull the plug on the MG12X or would the MG10X work just as good? only a connection hookup difference?
