Why are vehicle histories not free?
Tons of random websites sell vehicle history from $10-$30, why isn't it free and how does it work? does it come free for them through the government or there's some kind of paid database somewhere?

video [Savagegeese] Audi A3 Review
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADL64IlQwDQ
The only thing that I am glad they noted is that the A3 feels about the same in handling as a Mazda3 Turbo AWD, which I happen to have and cross shopped with the A3 as the 2 series is quite ugly. The A3 interior imo is ugly and will age just as badly as their VW's.

Cheapest looking vehicles with high price/maintenance?
What costs a surprisingly high amount, even though it looks really cheap?
I have personally found that the badge makes people think it's expensive, even if it is an old vehicle. I guess they would be correct most of the time because of maintenance costs anyway.
What are your favorite examples of this?

Me and my best friend rented a V12 Vantage S and we listened to the James Bond Theme while driving it....y'all need to do the same
It's the best car. I don't know how else to describe it.,.
The power is INSANE. I've driven cars with 500 horsepower but this is a way different 500 horsepower. It's so fast.
You can be going 80 mph and just floor it and it just throws you so hard in your seat.
And the way it looks.....the way the V12 Vantage looks is proof of divinty. And everything is functional. Those hood vents are t there for just beauty.....that 6 liter v12 get so hot. I burned my hand. Opening the hood and I will cherish this mild injury.
I just want to speak so many words about the V12 Vantage, but I can't find the words because I'm left speechless.
Aston Martin just knows how to make you feel alive.

With what engineering or marketing blunders do you think that each one of Detroit's Big 3 completely jumped the shark?
Here's mine:
GM- the Chevy Vega, the Cadillac HT 4100 engine, and the Cadillac Cimarron.
Ford- deciding it was cheaper to pay out the wrongful death and injury lawsuits related to the Pinto fuel tank rather than fix the car. Followed up with the unsafe handling capabilities of the Bronco II and early Explorer SUV, which Ford knew about early on and pushed them out the door anyway.
Chrysler- switching its top-of-the-line New Yorker luxury sedan to the K platform.
What other examples can you think of?

What is “luxury” to you?
Got into a debate with one of my friends the other day. He does well for himself; he drives a ‘24 Range Rover and an S550. He was telling me how they’re the two best-riding cars and the greatest luxury vehicles in the world right now.
Then he started talking about all the issues, especially with the Range Rover. He’s bringing it into the shop every couple of months for various problems, which can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days to fix.
That got me thinking—what’s luxurious about that? To me, something luxurious should relieve stress, not add to it. Luxury should be something you enjoy without worry, not something that constantly breaks down.
You could bring money into it, but I’d argue that if you can afford both a Range Rover and an S-Class, you’re not worried about the money—it’s more so your time. Wasting hours or even days dealing with repairs seems like the opposite of luxury.
Luckily, his is a lease, and he’s thinking about switching to a G63 or a Lexus LX next.
I’m curious on what your thoughts are.
Cars where Auto was better?
Generally speaking in today’s day and age , automatic cars are faster. However if you want fun experience, manual cars are generally the better option. Furthermore in the past , in the early days of automatic transmissions the manual cars were faster and more engaging.
This begs the question, is there any cars where the manual was so poorly designed that the automatic was better for both performance and fun?

What’s the worst sounding car you’ve ever heard
To me usually V6 Muscle cars (mostly mopars) that sound like a worse and slower version than the VQs. Also any straight piped 4 cylinder (not performance ones) that have a 10 second 0-60
