AI + Education Done Right: An (effective) AI tutor that helps you study, not cheat!

Last semester, I watched my friends AI their way through assignments, only to panic when exams came because they never actually learned anything. no struggle (when you solve hard problems), no learning!

Because AI is (obviously) a helpful tool, I realized most people used it wrong with learning, so I built InsightfullyStudy - an AI tutor that integrates with your existing notes and problems and gives you guiding advice based on what you've already done (or haven't done).

What makes it different:

  • Just screen share and get immediate guidance (even works on iOS through our mobile app!)
  • Gives hints, not answers—letting you struggle, but struggle smart!
  • Works with your existing notetaking and assignment platforms (Notability on iOS, Canvas, GoodNotes, etc.)
  • No shortcuts, no BS. Just a personalized tutor that's always available and ready to help.

Plus, it's cheaper than a good tutors that are usually crazy expensive ($20-30+ per hour). As a college student, I can't afford that. Now, you can get 24/7 tutoring at a fraction of the cost.

There's a 3-day free trial if you want to check it out. Would love your feedback or questions!

Happy studying (for real this time)!

I never studied before—any tips?

Hi everyone, I’m in college now and realizing I never really learned how to study. High school was super easy for me—most of the time I just did guided notes from the reading and that was enough to do well. But now I’m feeling kind of lost. Does anyone have any advice or methods for how to actually study effectively? I’d really appreciate any tips or suggestions!

Pomodoro Technique!

Hi! I don’t know how many of you know the Pomodoro Technique, but I’ve been using it for a while now, and I recently switched to the 60/10 method. It’s honestly been a game-changer for me, especially with finals coming up! 🎓

So, I made a video with a Pomodoro timer for this technique, and I wanted to share it with you all. If you need a study timer to stay focused and avoid burnout during your study sessions, this might be just what you need.

If you like it, don’t forget to subscribe to my channel for more timers and study tips! 😊

completely lost and unmotivated

im 17 and applying for uni next year. i live in this place where high school ends in grade 11 and basically you go to another kind of school for 2 years so grade 12 and 13 to get another diploma, i’ll just call it college to simplify everything . the grades you got in high school don’t matter when you get into college which typically lasts 2 years so 4 semesters, only the three of the four semesters matter for uni application. i went into a health science program so calculus, chem, bio, physics and everything along those lines plus the mandatory courses like philosophy and other mandatory humanities courses. i was an overachiever in high school. i was involved in extracurriculars, got above average grades. i got into a good college, one a lot of my classmates got rejected from. im now in my second semester and am unmotivated, can’t remember the last time i studied and my grades are slipping. in my first semester i was studying but my grades sucked as well, nothing catastrophic i mean i wasn’t failing or anything but getting 70s when i was a 90s student is kind of a shock. my r score (sort of like a gpa but adapted to this schooling system and is calculated differently and takes in a bunch of stuff into consideration) is pretty decent. but as i mentioned this semester i really just dont want to do anything. i went to a different college than all my friends(they all went to the same one) i haven’t made a single friend, i still have a friend or two from high school here which is nice theyre just not my usual group, i can’t remember the last time i saw my friends. im alone in all my classes. when i get stuck in a subject i have no one to help me cause im not that close w the people in my school and my other friends and i dont talk as much since i dont see them anymore. whenever they ask to hang out i cant go cause i have to study. but i dont study. i dont want to. im tired all the time. my parents (mainly my dad) want me to work with them in the future which means i have to bust my ass off at school if i want to get a good r score and a good score in the casper test. but to be honest thats not what i want to do in the future but i think it would kill me to tell my dad that, i dont want to disappoint him. i want to get back on track with school, i know im not at a point of no return i still have like 60-70% of my courses to get my grades up i just need help. (also if anyone knows anything that works wonders for calculus 2 id really appreciate it) anyways i need help getting motivated or study tips at least or something to get me through the semester.

studying math ☹️

hi everyone!!

school had always been relatively easy for me, but when it comes to math, i struggle SO much. in freshman year, i admittedly was burnt out and struggling, so i finished with a C+ in alg 2 ☹️☹️ i’m super embarassed and ashamed considering i’ve been a straight A student, but all i can do now is try to improve

so when i got to pre calc this year, i was determined to get an A. but despite studying for hours before a test, i always ended up with a c+ or b-. my overall grade is looking like a 78 rn, i’m just trying to get it to an 80 with another marking period + a final left in the class. i’m trying to get at least an A in both, so i really need to lock in, but evidently, studying for hours a day and doing practice problems isn’t helping

does anyone have any tips that help them with math?? i also have major test anxiety so if anyone has some advice for that, please help me out 😭😭 i’m genuinely so stressed and it’s so disappointing to see 3 hours of studying result in a 76% ☹️

Are my Notes too colourful (Secondary school exams)

So I'm 15 and I'm doing my junior cert in June. This is an exam we have in Ireland halfway through secondary/high school and I was wondering if my notes are too colourful because I did diagrams of the different human cells on a page and did an orange border around it.

I’m building something that turns audio into note templates like Cornell and Box style — curious if this would help anyone?

I recently built a tool that takes recorded lectures or meetings and turns them into clean, formatted notes — you can choose styles like Cornell or Box method. It also lets you turn those notes into flashcards and quizzes. I'm still finalizing the launch and looking for early feedback from students — would this actually be helpful for your study flow? What features would matter most to you?

Reading the textbook

Hi guys, i need tips on how to learn material most effectively. Last semester I spent hours reading the material from the textbook but I found it very time consuming. Keep in mind I was only taking 3 classes at the time. This semester i will be taking double that amount and I just dont think spending hours reading the textbook will help me out. For this specific course, we are covering 3 chapters/ week with an exam every 2 weeks that cover 6 chapters total. Reading the textbook really helped me understand course content but with 6 classes and only so much time in a day, I dont think reading my textbook will be efficient. Any suggestions on how i should go about learning/studying?

Failing..

Last semester I dropped a subject I realized I was eaaay overestimating my ability. I took the same class at a different college and I’m failing this one. There isn’t a way for me to boost the grade at all. Now I have to go through the same class for the rest of the semester knowing I’m walking away with an F. I really really want to move past this subject and go onto the higher classes of this topic. What in the world do I do!? I’m going to take the SAME class at yet again another college but imma try for a step down class from it. How should I go about this? I know that my program might not pay for this class again so I’ll have to pay out of pocket right? And what should I do? Should I LIVE in the tutor center for this?

DoMyEssay Review (2025): Is DoMyEssay Legit or Just a Waste of Time?

Finals week had me pretty hard up: three essays due in 48 hours and barely any time to sleep, let alone write. I’d never used a writing service before, but I caved and looked up DoMyEssay. It looked fine on the surface: decent layout, quick turnaround promises, some okay reviews floating around. But if you’re wondering is DoMyEssay legit, here’s my honest DoMyEssay reviewFinals week had me pretty hard up: three essays due in 48 hours and barely any time to sleep, let alone write. I’d never used a writing service before, but I caved and looked up DoMyEssay. It looked fine on the surface: decent layout, quick turnaround promises, some okay reviews floating around. But if you’re wondering is DoMyEssay legit, here’s my honest DoMyEssay review after actually using them.

TL;DR: The site looks trustworthy, but the paper I got was lazy and full of grammar errors. Definitely not college-level. Killer Papers ended up being a much better choice.

My Experience with DoMyEssay

I submitted a 5-page paper request for a sociology course, nothing too crazy, just needed something clean, on topic, and on time. The order process was smooth, and I got paired with a writer pretty fast. But that’s where the good stuff ends.

The communication was super minimal. I sent over my prompt and grading rubric, but the writer didn’t ask a single question. When I got the final draft, I was honestly shocked by how off it was. The ideas were scattered, and the writing felt like it came from someone still learning English. The intro barely addressed the topic, and the conclusion was a weird copy-paste of an earlier paragraph.

The grammar? Super rough lmao. I had to fix a bunch of sentence fragments and awkward phrasing just to make it readable. I asked for a revision, but the rewrite was basically a rushed patch job with new mistakes added in.

Is DoMyEssay Legit?

So, is DoMyEssay legit? Sure (I guess) - they’ll deliver something and won’t run off with your money. But if you’re looking for quality writing that feels like it came from an actual college student, it missed the mark big time. The whole thing felt rushed and low effort, and the lack of proper editing was a huge red flag.

What Worked Better: Killer Papers

After that mess, I turned to Killer Papers, and the difference was obvious. The writer actually messaged me to clarify a few details, and what I got back was clean, organized, and plagiarism-free. The writing sounded like me, the citations were on point, and the structure followed the rubric I’d uploaded to the letter.

I’ve used them for a few different subjects now, and each time, the writers followed instructions without me having to micromanage everything. They’re based in North America too, so the grammar and style actually match what profs expect.

TL;DR:

This DoMyEssay review is simple: if you’re asking is DoMyEssay legit, technically yes, but don’t expect much. The paper I got was rushed and full of errors. I ended up rewriting most of it myself. I switched to Killer Papers, and they’ve actually delivered quality work every time. No regrets there.

Falling behind idk y

Even though the end of the semester is coming up, my college classes r killing me. In calculus 1 it’s not as bad just takes me a little longer to understand but in chemistry I’m dying, there’s so much to memorize and I’ll study like 6-8 hours easily but I always feel like I’m not totally getting there. When I go to lectures I leave feeling like a lost puppy having no idea what I just looked at. And when I read the textbook it’s even worse bc I feel like they make it so complicated for no reason

My current study method is look at problems we’ve done in class, and watch videos on them. Then watch it and do it with the video then do it on my own and if I mess up go back to the video and see where. Then keep going until I can do it on my own. But I feel like it isn’t working rn. Any other tips? I incorporate pomodoro when I study doing an hour on and 10 mins off but focus isn’t my issue, it’s understanding and retaining

Starting college in the fall with a 504 and looking for the best note taking accommodation

Just as the title says, I have a child starting college in the fall. They are on a 504 plan that allows them to have accommodations. One of those accommodations is help with notetaking. I’ve looked into several AI apps that claim to create note cards, transcribe audio lectures into notes that are simplified for easier understanding, organize notes etc., create quiz or test questions.

There are so many out there and like everything else, there are the good and bad.

Price isn’t an issue as I want them to succeed and they need the help.

What do you suggest and why? Pros and cons

Thanks
