Tron: Ares, NIN vs Daft Punk
I loved Tron Legacy. I love and still listen to the album as well as its remixes. It's helped me introduce my son to Daft Punk, as well as electronic music. Its special for a lot of reasons. I just saw the trailer for Tron: Ares. It looks good from the limited bits in that trailer.
I had to look into who was composing the soundtrack and Im really intrigued with NIN as the composer. Glad it isnt "Trent Reznor", but NIN on the wiki page about the film. I trust that more with their collective experience.
Im interested from this particular crowds experience, what are your thoughts on NIN taking the helm on a film that can be made or completely broken by it's soundtrack? The aesthetic appears to lend itself to the grittier sound that NIN is absolutely expert in, so Im personally really excited to see how it comes together.
Edit:
I am now aware that NIN is broadly recognized as primarily being Trent Reznor alone, I come from a time where that wasn’t true but the documented history shows otherwise and my memory failed here. Did not mean to offend fans, just not something I follow closely.
I am also starting to work through Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross whole scoring history, there’s a lot there, so I’m learning.
