Question Am I entitled to compensation?

Post image

Title is just a joke but found that preset 7 in Aliens Fireteam on the PS5 is eerily similar to my own face. Probably akin to the way Ellen Page thought she was Ellie in TLoU.

Have you ever unwittingly found your likeness in a game before?

Question What should I play next based on my tier list?

Pretty much what the title says, when I try to game atm I end up playing the same handful of games over and over again. Any suggestions welcome but preferably something relatively modern (within the last 10 years) and with an element of scifi/fantasy

Question What is so good about Nintendo?

This is not meant to hate on nintendo. I just wonder why nintendo fans think it is worth paying so much for consoles that severely limits the games that you can play? If you play on steam or playstation you have access to almost every game in the world. Whether it is strategy, shooters, sports, action. New IPs, remakes, big game releases.

But if you stick with nintendo you are mostly limited to the games from one company. And from an outsiders perspective (mine) it seems like they are the same games over and over. Mario kart? That has existed for decades. I played that and had a modest amount of fun as a kid. Super mario? Donkey kong? Pokemon? Same IPs over and over. Same art style. Same core gameplay after all these years.

Not that I wouldn't buy one or two of those games if they were available on PC but I wouldn't enter the nintendo world just because I want to play breath of the wild. I have previously thought about buying a switch, partially because the price was good, but then I looked at the available games and decided not to. Oh yeah and then I discovered the best thing ever called the steam deck.

Discussion Top 3 Video Game Protagonists?

Post image
65 Upvotes

Who are your top 3 video game protagonists? Can be for any reason. These are mine:

  1. Joel

  2. Ezio Auditore

  3. Arthur Morgan

Joel and Arthur each had a big impact on me and I have never been more affected by any 2 characters in any medium like I was with them. I grew up playing Ezio and he was a big part of my childhood.

Funny I've never played DMC before, but assume this is what the game is about.

Wanted to get day z since it was on sale, but it says ps+ is required to play online and checking online the game is an online only game no single player. So if I buy this and since I don't have ps+ I'm buying a digital Brick?

Discussion Why aren't video game things for teenagers anymore?

I know games are still for teenagers n stuff, but the actual equipment isn't, pc gaming is a whole hobby, and consoles are also very expensive, all that is expected for sure but handheld consoles, like the steam deck or ps portal, are almost as expensive as full consoles. I understand why they are, they have full console capability, but it kinda stings.

I know that even back in the day things were like this, like the psp wasn't cheap at launch, but overall gaming doesn't seem to be as accessible of a hobby as it used to be. I might be completely wrong and off the mark, but it does make me sad.

Discussion This Will Be The First Nintendo Launch I Miss, and It Hurts

Backstory: I'm a 28 year old from Effingham. Just got married a couple of years ago, we're both paying off school, we don't go out much. But we really like games. And we don't share a lot in taste but we always played Mario Kart.

I liked the direct, I didn't mind the price, I didn't love it but I can accept that consoles and games are becoming more expensive.

I can't afford it if the tariffs are what they say they are going to be. And then on top of that, the cost of living is going to go up. I couldn't afford it as it is (all my work stuff is jumping and I have to renegotiate this week)

When life gets like this, I used to play animal crossing or stardew valley but now it's just spoiled. We were playing Mario Kart tonight and stopped after one match.

Before my dad passed we would play Wii and it made everything better. Fuck all of this. I'm not mad at Nintendo. I know it's happening to a lot of people and that just makes me feel even worse for bitching but what the fuck? I just wanted to buy the new Nintendo console. I can't believe this is happening for no reason.

I'm glad Nintendo is still going to support switch 1 but it feels like all the pure innocent joy of video game hype has been sidelined for complicated bullshit. I just wanted to not think and drive around as stupid cartoon world with my wife. This shouldnt be political.

Discussion Is it just me or were the games in the 2000 better than the games today

Upvotes

So I’ve been playing a lot of older games recently like tomb, raider the shadow of the tomb raider, gw gw2; ninja gaiden (I gave up on the first one cause it was hard I know I suck ass) etc but other than the god of war franchise and other good games I figured out that the older games have been way batter than the modern games and I know that might start a war in this posts comment section so rip my post but still the older games just seem to stick with me

Question Microtransactions form

hello, I'm a 16 year old high-school student and as my yearly project we're researching how much people spend on video games. This form takes about 3 minutes to complete and I would really appreciate it💖

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScJZwVk1ThbYiqlwwkzeapjjO02L-xFi_-FNiHL7GqWZQbz0g/viewform?usp=dialog

we do NOT ask for any personal information nor this is an autopromotion, we're just curious about an outcome of this question :3
