Question Need some recomendations.

Upvotes

I seem to be in a gaming slump right now where all I have going for me in terms of gaming is WoW and a gacha game. I am looking for recommendations based on a few criteria, as they seem to be within my realm of interest at the moment.

Modern Pixel art RPG's turn based or action based. (I recently completed Star Ocean 2: Second Story R and is looking for more in this style of art.)

Tactical RPG's (big Final Fantasy Tactics, Fire Emblem and similar like games.)

Emphasis on story (preferably if there is a romance element to it. Greatly enjoyed Tales of Arise because of it)

Prefer to play on PS5 (do have Switch and PC/Steam)

Thanks in advance.

extra point. I also tend to avoid any AAA game as the only AAA games I would play are Final Fantasy games.

Question What game(s) did you dislike as a kid, but grew to like later on?

Upvotes

For me, Mario Galaxy. I don't know, I rented this at Blockbuster and found myself more frustrated with it than anything. It was definitely because I was bad at the game lol, but yeah this one didn't click with me back then. I enjoyed its sequel a bit more when I played that one, but ultimately felt the same way about it.

I played it again via 3D All Stars when that dropped, and grew a new found appreciation for the game. The presentation is INSANE, and the levels were a joy to play through. Soundtrack goes so hard as well. I definitely had an easier time with it too.

Discussion What's the general opinion on Tears of the Kingdom?

Upvotes

People keep telling me that im in the minority of people who loves this game, and that it's a very hated and not so great game. Just looking up the words Tears of the Kingdom on reddit gives me the top results which are all post on why the game sucks. I don't know if it's just my algorithm or not, but I hope im not in the minority as it's honestly my favorite game. So do you think about the game.

Question Which system do I choose???

Upvotes

I’m researching which gaming system to get and I’m struggling to figure out if I should go ps5 slim digital or Xbox S/X. I’ve been a Nintendo switch player for a few years and I’m ready to get something more powerful… here’s what I’m into…

+RPG’s with great stories and characters where the story unfolds as you complete missions or challenges +Awesome graphics and beautiful worlds +Some combat and battle but mostly not guns or first person shooter games. Swords, various hand weapons, etc are more my vibe. +Adventure, spying, sneaking, and exploring +strategy, puzzles +not absolutely necessary bc I love completely fantastical worlds but I’m also loving assassins creed and the historical recreation and accuracy element +Games that I’ve loved playing so far… Zelda botw, Witcher 3, Assasins creed, hogwarts legacy, civ6.

What do yall think? Is there even much of a difference at this point since so many more games are being released on both platforms?

Discussion Searching for an Early Build of IGI 2

Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I’m on the hunt for an early build or pre-release version of IGI 2: Covert Strike. Whether it's a demo, prototype, leaked beta, or any kind of early version that's different from the final release.
I'm super interested in checking it out.

If anyone has any leads, files, or even just info on where to look, I’d really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!

PC Looking for a specific type of game

Upvotes

I'm not sure if something like this even exists but what I'm looking for is, a game where you grind to get more powerful maybe with different character builds, is mainly played online with other people but without the classic mmo formula (kind of like gta online), has fast paced combat and has a lot of pvp. I would prefer open world but it's not necessary.

Question Are all current ps5 exclusives coming out on pc?

Title. I don't know if there are any ps exclusives other than demon's souls remake not coming out on pc. Makes me pretty sure i won't be getting a ps6, but i am a bit concerned cause i usually love sony's single player exclusives (even if this has been a weaker generation)

Discussion Vanilla vs Mods

Id just like to see if there's anyone out there like me that plays the games as released. Now don't attack me, I'm not saying anything is wrong with mods and quite the contrary. I know what mods offers.

I know what kind of man you are

All im trying to see if anyone else out there just plays it straight up. Like not even a "quicksave" or "enabling trophies" mod. Nothing at all. I'm a huge RPG guy with 100% in Skyrim, RDR2, KCD2, and have played every FO, AC, and FC.

The only mods on Xbox I've tried was in FO4 for guns and the SH mod, and personally, as an achievement hunter, I just don't think there are mods worth it.

On PC I tried modding GTA V for police RP in story mode (I don't play online really ever) and realized I do not have the IQ to piece it all together. It's too gd complicated for me.

Again, whether it's for achievements, you're too dumb (like me) to understand really modding a game, or whatever, who plays vanilla games? I'm only asking because it seems EVERYONE is modding EVERYTHING.

Question Steam deck vs gaming laptop

Was wondering if anyone had any input on whether to buy a steam deck or gaming laptop to get into computer gaming. I already own an Xbox series x but am simply looking to get into the steam library but am not that knowledgeable. Considering I expect have either device hooked up to a monitor for a solid 70% of the time would a gaming laptop of a similar price point (like the Hp victus) make more sense power wise or is the steam deck’s convince more worth it? Thanks

Question Can you help me find this horrorgame?

It was a long time ago that I watched the gameplay, all I know is:

Graphics are (semi) realistic. It's about an adult woman, hair open, possibly Grey, dressed modestly.

She looks for a doctor or psychologist or something. She drives to that big mansion, it gives dark Asylum vibes.

At some point she met an old man, he's the doctor or psychologist she looked for, he went evil and and wants to off her. The game is kind of a free roam stealth game. The woman has to sneak around the house and carefully avoid the man. She must solve a puzzle or something. If the man finds her, he can immediately off her

Random items can be used as weapons sometimes around the mansion, for the player and the man I think.

(for some reason I can't use the r/what is that game so here I am)
