DISCUSSION What warbond should I get

So I play on and off and with the new Carbondale out it seems nice but I'm contemplating on maybe get one of the other ones.

I have cutting edge and urban warrior currently and I really like the cowboy/mandalorian esthetic of the new warbond but I'm contemplating should I maybe get one of the other ones like detonation experts or steeled veterans for the explosive crossbow or the revolver. So thoose who already got them wich ones should I get when I don't play enough to really farm all of them and just want to have some fun at higher difficulties

Discussion Looking for wiggler hat mods

I usually don't look at mods for monster hunter but I was wondering if there are any that add the wiggler hat from how it was in world. I really miss that hat

Rogue vs Monk
 in  r/onednd  Feb 27 '25

I always liked monks but they always felt lacking in 5e, rouges have mobility and can hit as hard as some of the other marshals sometimes even more because they don't relay on their items as much.

That being said I LOVE the new monk changes, now I feel like they can keep up with rouges with their deflect attacks and the new way to regain focus points. But I haven't played a monk above level 1 yet so I can't tell how much oomph they really pack in the later levels.

Monks don't relay on items so they dont gain as much power like rouges do, so by later levels there will be a big difference in their power.

Monk is more tanky and mobile and rouge are better for reliable big damage, and you can always combine them together as they work very well when subclassing, a swashbuckler/monk can be absolutely great!

Discussion Problems I feel with purple dragon knight/drakewarden

Personally I never understood why they only feel viable after level 7 when the dragon/drake become large enough to ride. Most of the campaigns I play are lower level and I can't really get the feel of being a dragon rider.

With that in mind I don't think it should be something that you get at lvl 3 flight is powerful and having a companion you can always have does effect the action economy of a battle but why not have it at lvl 5 as opposed to level 7 and give them a damage increase at lvl 7 instead? Most of the full casters can cast fly by level 5 and or just summon a vulture with any small character that has magic initiate.

I think a nice fix for this would be making the dragon/drake rideable at lvl 5 but when riding it it loses half of its movment speed, then at lvl 7 they gain an increase to their damage and their flight speed letting them keep up with the rest of the party, but what are your thoughts about it?

Summoning 8 pixies is good but not for the reason people think

When multiple creatures cast the same spell at the same spot it technically stacks

5th Edition Summoning 8 pixies is good but not for the reason people think

So I'm playing chains of asmodeus and using a lvl 12 druid there and recently we entered an arena where we had to 1v1 a special chain devil. So I went to the dm before combat started and asked him if I could use that spell and flex on him (I intentionally dont abuse summoning and use other spells to keep things interesting for the party because I know how powerful they can be and ask my dm before I do things like thay) so the dm knew what i was doing and approved it because it was a 1v1.

So when combat starts I cast summon woodland beings to conjure 8 pixies, now from here most people think I'd use polymorph, but I had a different idea in mind. I have the 8 pixies cast phantasmal force on the chain devil because according to the spell they are able to stack on one another, 5 of them hit 3 he manged the save. And so because he had no ranged attacks and I managed the save from his abilities I just kept casting spells at him while he took 5d6 psychic damage every turn (we use 2014 rules It would have been more if we used 2024 rules).

So my scrawny tiefling pulled up to the arena. pretty much used a domain expansion until the chain devil exploded, won the battle and walked out. ended up succeeding the other two challenges as well but the 1v1 was the highlight

And for all thoose concerns I talked to my dm after the session and he was fine with it, made him laugh that I cheesed it because up until then my druid almost died in every battle.

So to everyone who knows how powerful this spell is talk to your dm before doing something like this to make sure everyone at the table is having fun

5th Edition Applies to both 5th edition and 5.5 as I didn't see any difference in the fetures this relays on but I would like some help on this

Before the metagaming and hate comments flod in let me say this isn't something I intend using in a game but purely out of speculation.

So coffelock, if you take Elf or reborn you can long rest in four hours, then use the other four hours to convert warlock spell slots into sorcery points. Is it possible to make a discount coffeelock?

By my calculations a lvl 3 warlock and lvl 2 sorcerer can long rest for 4 hours then, Take their 2 lvl 2 warlock slots and turn them into sorcery point, doing that four times, then ending the rest with a total of 26 sorcery points including the two sorcerer's get.

Is this possible or did I overlook something?

5.5 Edition Damphir bite as a monk?

So I'm going to play a damphir monk in an upcoming out of the abyss campaign. I'm using the 2024 monk, should I ask the dm if he could rule the bite as a monk attack? I know rule wise it dosnt line up with the vampiric bite not having any properties but wanted to get some opinions on this

Yeah, the problem it's better against some monster then others, where DB are effective in every situation... that's my struggle even tho when I pop off with LS it's the best feeling

Yes I did try it and i love the glaive as a weapon, but it feels a lot less satisfying. In the wilds beta it was really good tho so I will probably main it there

You can say that about literally every weapon. If I wanted the thing that does the most damage I would have played LBG with pierce ammo.

That's not the point

Spamming demon flight has carried me all the way to the dlc, I love aerial DB way too much but the satisfaction of landing a counter on LS is like the m1 grand ping of monster hunter for me
