I think it’s less about hating the homeless, and more of “who’s going to clean this thing?” Obviously that’s a problem everywhere, but I think that’s the reasoning.

The public restrooms were have are rarely clean or safe. And yah, if you’re in a city, there’s a good chance there’s a homeless person smearing shit on the walls.

Private businesses will usually let you use their bathrooms after a purchase. Fast food chains and gas stations usually won’t require a purchase.
