advice please - new to embracing my curls - fine/thin hair, low porosity, 2B/2C? - dealing with frizz always and unable to keep curls looking good for multiple days
 in  r/curlyhair  Mar 31 '21

My hair is a lot like yours, and I’m looking for more advice too. I have a few people i follow on Instagram if you’d like their handles. I have pretty decent success with a good shampoo/conditioner and just some gel. I use innersense and diffuse. Honestly? Don’t be afraid to just soak your hair and let it do it’s thing with some gel.

Edit to add: try one routine and one set of products for a month and see how you like it. If you change every week or so your hair is going to be confused. Learn from my frustrations!

Is this a 'normal' way to have friends?
 in  r/relationships_advice  Feb 02 '21

This is me. Only two of my closest friends are close friends. The rest of them I’ve collected from various places in life. It’s nice. They’re so separate if I need to ask advice about something another is going through or my relationship with another friend- theres no personal stake in it

They can meet at my wedding

I want to make the heaviest warmest quilt possible
 in  r/quilting  Feb 02 '21

I’m a little on a mission so maybe yeah heaviest wouldn’t be the best. I sleep with a weighted blanket so anything lighter than that is a no go for me. But warm and cozy and comfy Thank you!

Help/Question I want to make the heaviest warmest quilt possible

Hi everyone!

While I'm a relatively beginner quilter, I'm not a beginner sewer. I'm looking to make a nice and heavy, warm (chemo) quilt for a friend. Any suggestions? It should be durable to sustain washes as well.

Thank you!

I really like the idea of a quilt that's long and straight rather than squares. Does anyone have any links to patterns?

He chose me

You know, we still chat once in a while. A quick catch up or a certain topic will come up and we’ll make contact.

Two years ago a text from you would stop my breath. But I had to wait. Days...weeks...months...and for what? A little rush of adrenaline? A little bit of hope that we’d have that fairytale?

It’s been a number of years now. There’s still a bit of fantasy clinging to your memory. And you know what? I don’t hold it against you. It’s really a big fault of mine: I really try to see the hope in people.

You’re an idiot and I didn’t see it soon enough because you treated me with just enough kindness to pull me in. You never intended to hurt me. I think you saw a chance for future if one or two things were different. You were just more practical. It slowly broke my heart.

It’s not even a secret I’ve found someone much better. I’ve found someone real. I found someone that chooses me, day in and day out. The distance isn’t as bad as ours would’ve been, but he works at it. We work on it. Instead of just giving up before we’ve even had a chance at it. Now we’re planning a future and I feel at home in his heart.

So thank you, for not choosing me. It gave him a chance to choose me. I am all the happier for it.

Also: Native English speaking people tend to SUCK. This is something i had to get over. Essentially my body/brain assumes everyone is going to be like “why can’t you just speak Spanish PROPERLY” like English people tend to do.

Nope! They love that you try and 95% of the time will help. You can do it!

Do you provide accurate transcripts for your shows?

I’m curious as to what people in a mostly or only audio format do to make their content accessible to the Deaf or Hard of Hearing communities. It may seem odd because I understand how it is an audio format, it’s designed to be heard, but that doesn’t mean that there shouldn’t be outlets for some type of access for more people. Especially if your podcast has great content.

Just a discussion I’m curious about.

Help Best way to recycle or dispose of old tools?

Hi!

I would rather not just dump a bunch of old heat styling tools in the trash. Does anyone know about recycling them or disposing of them the best way?

Thank you!

UPDATE:

Best Buy will recycle them for free

Hello!

The woman I work for is an absolute gem. The true Christian woman. She does Bible study and knows her stuff. I however am not this person. However we both love art and art history. Looking for a book to connect the two. Thanks!
