So there is this guy I liked since november last year, he is my brother's classmate although they are not close as i observed. I haven't made a move except i added him on social media and he accepted my friend request so basically we are mutuals.

My friends been telling me that he keeps on looking at me, which i dont know if it is true or not because i feel shy if i will stare at him. Another friend of mine from another group told me "I thought you guys were something based on how he looked at you" I dont know if she is just saying that to make me assume things or what, then another friend told me again that he keeps on looking at me everytime we pass by him. So why does he keep on staring at me? should i make a move?

We havent talked yet, i just added him in social media so he kinda knows me as my brother's sister. I dont know if he knows i like him but i think i made it obvious or my friends made it obvious to him that I like him. What should i do?

not trying to target anyone with this post. this is just an observation...

whenever someone has anything below a 4.0 GPA and perfect attendance and posts about it to this subreddit, there's so little empathy? "just go to class" or "just study" literally is the most horrible, nothing advice i've ever heard. don't you think that if they could be the perfect student, they would?

as a teenager, there can be SO many things going on during high school years that make it hard to actually do school, and i wish more people in this subreddit would at least TRY to understand that.

Dunno if its just me, probably not, but I am just so tired of doing anything at all in school, thank god the year is almost over.

Mid freshman year right now and trying to get stuff that looks good for college later. I’m not really in any extracurriculars right now and I’m kinda scared to be because most people look like they what they’re doing. I’ve always been mind over body and so I think there really isn’t a point trying to do a sports thing, but general activities and what not what are some good options? My school is pretty small and kinda shitty so I’m not sure what we’ve really got, I’ll need to check

I feel like shit for not trying my absolute hardest like I should’ve in High School. My friends are all going to be ahead in college and do better, but I took the easy route and barely took any APs. I’m worried about getting into college and just the future in general. I feel like I didn’t have enough course rigor, extracurriculars, etc. I’m not planning on going to a college that’s too crazy, likely UTD.

I’m asking this because I just got invited to a Junior Day at a fairly prestigious college I’ve been looking into applying to, and I genuinely don’t know if the invite I got really was genuine interest from this college or if I’m just getting worked up over essentially nothing. I’ve seen conflicting opinions online, but if anyone has any experience or input I’d love to hear it.

i’m about to be a senior and i’ve been at this school for 3 years and still don’t have friends , i mean i have a couple people that i see throughout and day and have a little conversation but that’s about it😅

For my case I have to mentally prepare remyself everytime i get to class or else i feel like i will cry. I am not the type to get bullied and i do stand up for myself and i consider myself a pretty strong person but because of the fact that there are so many of them and they all gang up on me at the same time i get exhausted and worn out, and as well as that they are the most popular and loudest people in the class while all the other students are quiet or keep to themselves, i also don’t have any friends in the class at all. I don’t really talk except for class discussions (we get points for talking)

The teacher knew about the fact that i was being bothered by a group of boys in my class, it got to the point where i went to the principal and talked to them about it, the teacher did talk to the boys before hand i think, but i don’t if she talked to all of them or a specific one or two but not much has changed, the second semester has came and we got new seats i was seated with the boys who were bullying/harrassing me, i made a diagram showing the locations the boys who have been harassing/bullying me are the red boxes while i am the blue box and my teacher is the dark green box is her desk while the neon green box is where she usually stands, and the purple box is a girl i had an argument with in class who is friends with the boys, all the black boxes are the other students.

I don’t understand why she would put me here, she’s be said to be one of the most understanding teachers, she’s really well liked in the school among students, she’s the sociology teacher and is best friends with psychology teacher, she constantly talks about how she is close with her students and has helped/supported other students, and is even still in touch with her previous. But the bullying and harassing has gotten worse all because of my seating, how would she not know the effect this would have on me?? What do i do??

Is it just my school or are there 3 very distinct types of Latin kids.

1. The people who take Latin because everyone says it’s the easiest and they use google translate and chat gpt for every assignment

2. The absolutely insufferable nerds who have a very specific type of irritating voice that just burns away your braincells and never shut up.

3. (Very rare) The quiet kids who are actually very interested in Latin and actually just want to learn.

Why are high schoolers so obssed with video games at school. Like i didnt really care at first but it's gotten to a point where ur basically ruining you're life just for some simple satisfaction. Almost every day I just see people playing brawl stars or playing some stupid game like minesweeper on their chromebook. Now I play video games myself I'm possible the biggest metroidvania fan (hollow knight, ori, and nine sols are some of my most played games) but jesus christ what type of satisfaction do you gain from cookie clicker? Like genuinely, at school too? I'm honestly tired of it, working in group projects and seeing the other 3 students just play some dumb truck racing game on their chromebook and I just get annoyed. Why are you wasting your life for this? like honestly either get working or play a game I could actually respect

Sorry this is a very unpopular opinion but I've just been really sick of people doing nothing but just game at school and they have like a 2.4 GPA too. I play games too but at home when I'm acc done working and where can I enjoy them without ruining my future.

I have no idea where to go on the internet to find the type of person I’m looking for but Reddit and preferably someone that’s chronically online in higher school or just starting university.

I make video essays on YouTube, think The Internet Anarchist, Sunny V2, InternetAJay, and/or Louaista, and need someone that knows loads of internet lore to write scripts for me. The scripts would need to be on insanely detailed deep dives into chronically online people and issues and I’ve tried hiring professionals to do this but they just don’t know enough about the topics to be able to do so.

I’d need 2-4 video essays per month but there’s no hard deadline so you can go at your own pace. This job would obviously require a lot of research, watching videos, and gathering notes. Video length would be 15-20 minutes.

Ai cannot be used at all as YouTube is seriously cracking down on ai use and punishing creators for using it. To ensure no Ai is used I require the screen to be recorded to entire time you’re working and for the video to be submitted with your script (Yes I know that sounds extra but I’ve paid so many script writers just for them to submit Ai slop and get my videos flagged so this is the only way).

Basically just a super easy job to do in bed for a teenager to make a quick buck. The more chronically online you are, the easier this will be. Dm me if interested. Pay will be half up front and half on completion.

To get the job you’ll be asked to write a small 1-3 minute opening for a script on a specific topic. This way I can see your writing capabilities and know you’re serious. I need several writers so don’t worry about competition.

She's really arrogant, condescending, and talks to people like she thinks they're dumber than her. I don't know if it's because she's made a generalization based on a few bad apples in the class, but she's way too blunt, doesn't seem to make exceptions, and is kind of fucking me over because of It.

She's a Year 11 chemistry teacher, and I'm taking this subject after three years, so I'm struggling a bit more. But despite that, everytime I ask her something that yeah, would seem obvious to anyone else taking ths subject for longer, she's really condescending about it. I feel emotionally drained everytime I even think about seeing her, Monday come.

I had a test that I worked really hard for, over a month, so I'd do better on it than the last test. She accused me of cheating, took my paper away, refused to give me a retest and was really scathing about it without letting me explain or anything. I went to the principal in tears, and he spoke to her, and she'll choose not to grade the test.

But all because of a miscommunication, I had to bear the brunt of her condescension, and was left feeling so horrible after. I have issues with anxiety that, when I try to earnestly being up with her private, and how it sometimes affects my understanding, she completely runs me over and says I'm 'making excuses'.

I have a lot of health issues that keep me from attending class regularly, but I -try- my best. I was hospitalized for two weeks due to the same health issues last semester. This isn't something I'm pulling out my ass like Dr. Seuss.

Everyone else seems mild towards her, I guess our personalities just clash, and maybe she's just the kind of person that raises my BP. I don't know.

I'm waiting to discuss where to go from here, whether she'll just double the percentage on my next test, but I'm scared she'll refuse and pull another shenanigan with me.

I'm stable the way a house of cards is - I don't have jt in me to deal with her, but I want to be as mature about it as I can. I won't see her again in two-three months, anyways. Hopefully.

so im entering high school next year BUT I would like to know if there's any way I could skip 9th grade or enter college in 11th. i was set back a year because of the cutoff(if ydk what it is, its when you have to go to school a year later because you're born between early Sep and late Dec) and because I got cutoff I always wanted some way to skip a grade or enter into uni earlier. so if anyone has done this before, please give me tips :)
