I found this 2006 infiniti g35 coupe for sale for $5,600 with 155k. I test drove it took it in for a pre purchase inspection and the car came back good with only a small exhaust leak.(Also the radio does not work) I come back to the dealer to talk about the price and he can only go as low as $5,000. But when I do the calculations for tax and title transfer and registration it brings the car right back up to its $5,600 sticker price after tax.

I'm just wondering if im getting fucked over or not. The dealership did mention the bought the car from another dealership for $5600 so I guess they are trying to break even on the purchase but im not sure.

Can anyone help me out?

I need a car, im a college student and have been searching, right now i only have 800 and cant get any loans for a newer vehicle, should i buy this and hope it lasts for 6 months? They removed one cylinder(misfire) and it ran fine, no other major issues aside from this

My unpopular opinion is that Toyota is only popular due to marketing and goobers flooding the market with I know what I have postings on Facebook marketplace. Yeah yeah they had good cars back in the day but now? Shoddy build quality and terrible interiors, exploding engines and slush box transmissions. See GR Corolla and new Tundra. Even back in the day they had the terrible rusting frames.

Alright, I currently have it on a two day test drive. It is a 2010 camaro 2ss manual, 65k miles for 20k. Now for the good: It drives really smooth, clutch feels great, sounds really good. Exterior is super clean for being a 2010, not even any swirlies from the automatic car wash. No rust anywhere. Its had 3 previous owners, but each only drove it around 4-5k miles a year. Brought it to a mechanic that did a one hour PPI on it, said the car was perfect, save for a chip on the mirror, and that whoever previously owned it had taken really good care of it. Now for the bad: its had a muffler and res delete. I like loud, but not THAT loud. Its currently obnoxious, and if i went through id buy an exhaust for it, for around 1.5k including installation. What do we think? is this a good buy, especially with tariffs coming up

I am very much in the market for a daily driver. I'm quite open but I am looking for a luxury daily driver at the moment. My main focus has been in a 2018 Porsche Macan S, however I'm trying to cast a somewhat wider net into the BMW X3 market and Volvo XC60. Also very open to sedans. What is the best year for the subject vehicles? I'm also open to sedan and best year suggestions as well as that is what I'm used to.

I've been in the market for a car for at least a year now. Previously I had a family member's old 2011 dodge avenger that was given to me as a graduation gift. It lasted a bit, but about a year ago the transmission went and it would cost more to fix than the car is worth and it has a few other issues so I'm sure even if I did use 2~4k of my savings to fix it, it'll only run for a few months longer.

I found a CPO certified, Previously a rental, 2022 Toyota corolla LE in my area. It has less than 70k miles on it, and it's priced at almost 19k. It also has a pretty good warranty. They said if I bring my W2, they think they can get my approved for 10% financing with only 5k down. This is the best deal I've gotten so far. (Again I've been looking for a car for about a year, I'm a first time buyer, 22yrs old, and have been working my first job for about a year making only 50k yearly gross in an expensive state) other deals put me at 15%-22%. I have not been able to get pre-approval due to lack of credit. I'm working on that now. Most of my income goes to my mom, groceries, and savings, so I never really thought to get a credit card till a few months ago. I saved for whatever I wanted rather than risk debt.

I originally planned to use this year without a car to save 15k and buy something used with whatever that got me, or with minimal financing. But older adults insisted that was too much and even as a first time buyer I should be okay with as little as 3k down. (Bad Intel, ik now but it's too late) I already irresponsibly used a lot of that savings on gifts for my younger siblings to try and give them a nice Christmas last year and helping out older family in bad financial situations.

With that financial background out the way- now the point of this post- should I buy the car now? Or wait to save up and find something more ideal. I could handle the insurance and car note, but it wouldn't be comfortable at all. And would significantly eat into my saving habits. I'm worried that I got so used to saving about 1200 a month to eventually move out that spending most of that (283-350 note, 300+ insurance,~125+ gas) that if I get this car I'll be completely fucked and never be able to move out in this worsening economy.

Is this a good enough deal? Should I find something cheaper that I can also expect to last me about 10 years? If so, what?

Saved up cash for it, love it because it’s a real “drivers car”, and I think it looks absolutely stunningly beautiful. I’ll be honest, I’m worried about being perceived as a douche driving this around. My friends are mostly not in a financial position to afford something like this and I’m afraid it’ll alien people. I’ve only ever driven Toyotas my entire life. Tacoma is too small and the tundra is honestly too expensive for what it is. I’ve always stayed away from the big three American auto makers because it seemed like their reliability was mediocre compared to Toyota.

My question is, in terms of reliability, which one of the big three full sized trucks has the best track record? F-150, Silverado, or RAM 1500?

Im in the market for a little daily to learn on, budget is 3-4k so most things have almost 200k if not more. I've seen some people say anything over 175k isn't even worth buying, but I've heard people say the 200ks are fine. I'm just a little confused on what constitutes something being a gamble and a solid deal. I know it's depends on the car, but what would you guys consider too many to consider buying it?

don't get me wrong i do want reliability and gas efficiency, but i want something cool convertible for the summer that is coming, think of alain delon or james bond with their convertible cars and nice suit, but i wanna spend less that 6k what should i pick? the corolla never breaks and probably better than honda civic convertible.

Haven’t decided if I’m going to pull the trigger yet. I know the tax is wrong because he had to change the offer sheet to account for the $7500 federal credit and the taxes didn’t change lol. So the sheet isn’t perfect, but we aren’t in serious negotiations yet.

I’m in the process of buying my first car and have narrowed it down to three options: the 2023 Hyundai Elantra, the 2021-2022 Hyundai Sonata, and the 2021-2022 Mazda CX-5. All of these will be used, of course. I’ve done a lot of research on these models, but I’m struggling to decide which one is the best fit for me. I keep going back and forth, but I’ve managed to narrow it down to these three choices.

Initially, I had the Mazda 3 in mind, but I ruled it out because of its small interior space. Plus, I’m not a big fan of the infotainment screen in Mazda vehicles. I then considered the Mazda CX-5 due to its larger size, which offers more comfort and practicality. However, my main concern with the CX-5 is its infotainment system—specifically, the screen. I plan on using the car mainly for navigation with Google Maps, and the Apple CarPlay integration isn’t very smooth in the Mazda. This is a major factor that’s holding me back from fully committing to the CX-5, but I’ve still included it in my list since it does have a lot of appealing features.

The Hyundai Elantra has really caught my attention because it has everything I’m looking for in a car—good looks, great tech, and excellent fuel efficiency. However, my main concern with the Elantra (and also the Sonata) is its long-term reliability. A friend of mine has owned two Elantras, a 2017 and 2018 model, and now drives a 2020 Sonata, he claims he has had 0 issues with these cars and loved them so much. He’s had a generally positive experience with these cars, but I still wonder if reliability will be an issue in the long run.

As for the Sonata, I really like its design, and it’s a car I’ve highly considered as well. It seems like a perfect blend of comfort and tech, and feels a lot more premium and upscale compared to the Elantra but I’m not completely sure if it’s the right choice for me. I am worried about its transmission. I’m still young and want a car that’s not only practical but fun to drive too. Something with cool features, a solid driving experience, and good overall performance. This is my first car, and I really want to make the right choice. I know some will say Toyota or Honda but the Camry is too expensive and not a fan of the Corolla at all. As for Honda the only one I’m interested in is the Civic but I have been in it and to me it feels very basic and it’s also expensive. Is Hyundai really as bad as people say? I was told as long as you take care of the car it’ll take care of you and should last a long time.

I would really appreciate any advice you can offer to help me make this decision! What do you think? Is there a clear winner among these options, or should I be considering something else? Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi guys I’ve just came back home after driving my new car back after a 2 hour journey 😅 so today I decided to buy a new wrx sti blob eye in really good condition with FSH in blue with 82000 miles on the clock with a freshly done clutch and timing belt for £13,250 and I am in love with it and always have been ever since my father grew me up with them and I’m so proud I can now say I own one it is my third car and I’ve gone from a Hyundai i10 to this it’s quite the step up. 😂 am I stupid for this ( yes I am aware how serious they are to maintain lol )

The car fax has every oil change listed and looks legit, but it said the previous owner averaged 48K miles a year. I hear that Toyotas are very reliable and last a while, but wanted to get thoughts and opinions from others.

I have saved $4000 for a down payment so payments wouldnt be too bad, I figured I could probably pay it off in 2 years max. The main use for the vehicle will be commuting to work and school and having my own vehicle of course and hoping it lasts until after I'm done with college. TIA

I recently started a new job right out of college which came with a hefty sign on. I have around 40k to spend (can stretch if needed) on a super fun car.

I live in California and have a sports bike that I ride to work, so this would not technically be my "daily", although I would like it to be somewhat reliable.

I am in no way new to the car scene, and currently have 2 track cars. (NC Miata and Turbo LS2 swapped Mitsubishi 3000gt) and am in need of a daily-able car.

My requirements: 1. 4 seats (doesn't need 4 doors). 2. Reliable (ish). 3. Can fit a small surfboard either inside or roof rack. 4. Highly modable. 5. Fun to drive ofc.

I am comfortable with fixing cars, or buying cars that need some work, so salvage title is OK.

Some cars I have thought of so far: 1. Mk5 supra (b58) 2. Bmw 235xi (b58) 3. Gen 2+ CTS-V 4. Ats-V 5. Audi RS3 6. Salvage R35 gtr 7. Porsche 911 (maybe outside budget)

After encountering the stringent dealership managers for new honda (CRV), mazda (CX-50), and toyota (Rav4) last week, I have decided to go for my next option - a pre-owned, entry level luxury car. Narrowed down to Audi A4 or A5. I am thinking of keeping it for 5-7 years, so I've decided on getting 2022 and later vehicles, with 12k or less miles per year. Most of vehicles are 2-3k above my budget which is 30-32k. I am inclined to pull the trigger anyway, but I am stopping myself thinking the maintenance is anyway going to be higher than I imagine. Other option is go for an older vehicle. which option is wiser? Open for any other similar car suggestions.

I would really like a Volvo V50, but as they’re no longer made my choice is to buy an old one or a V60 (which I also really like). Which makes most financial sense; a new(ish) V60 at approx £17K, or a series of much older cars at approx £2K to keep for a year until they need an MOT?

I’m relocating from Toronto to Seattle soon and looking for some car advice tailored to the region. I’ve been driving a Volkswagen Jetta for the past few years and have generally liked it, but I’m thinking it’s time for an upgrade with the move.

I’m leaning toward a sedan, ideally something with all-wheel drive or at least good wet-weather handling, since I’ve heard Seattle roads can get pretty slick with all the rain. I’m also curious about how hilly or challenging the roads are to drive in general — is AWD a must?

A few models I’m currently considering:

• Audi S5 Sportback
• Genesis G70 AWD
• Possibly something similar in size/performance (open to suggestions)

I’d love to hear:

1) How are the roads and infrastructure in and around Seattle? Lots of hills? Potholes?

2) Is AWD essential, or would FWD/RWD with solid tires be fine for most of the year?

3) I’m not looking at full EVs, but I’m open to hybrids or plug-in hybrids if they make sense for the region.

4) How’s insurance pricing in Washington? Any big jump compared to Ontario, especially for sportier sedans?

I can’t decide what I should do and would really love some help-

I have a 2021 LX570 that bought new . It’s an inspiration series and now only has 37K miles . Perfect condition. Was gonna keep it forever but situation changed and I am shopping for a W223 S580. I have other cars to drive as daily as well so none of the LX or S will be a daily .

Dealer gives me 62K for the LX. And they give me 10K off any new S580. So if I trade in , my cash outflow will be toughly 75K. I’ll only consider new S580 if I trade in the LX.

Or if I keep the LX, buy a slightly used CPO, it would actually increase my cash outflow . Because the CPO is usually around 85K for a low miles good 2022 with extended warranty ( which runs around 6K).

If money isn’t an issue, of course go buy a new S580 and keep LX. I have enough cash that I can do any of the scenarios but can’t decide which one makes the most sense . Basically if I trade in LX I’ll have a brand new S and less money outflow , but I’ll loose the LX. Or if I keep the LX I actually will pay more but now have two used cars . I don’t drive the LX much , but still hard to let it go.
