2024 Mazda 3 Deal

I am considering only Preferred trim and hatchback only for new or used right now, and I found a 2024 Mazda 3 Preferred Hatchback at $21,397 ($23,908 Estimated OTD) with 22k miles on it. The lowest I've quoted for a 2025 Preferred Hatchback is $28,000. Do you think the 2024 version is the better deal?

The carfax report shows no accidents/damage reported, 1 owner, and it was used as rental vehicle.

First time car buyer advice

Hi all, it is my first time buying a car as a real adult (my current car is the one I bought from my mom right out of college, so I didn’t have to go through the typical choosing a car process). It is on its last legs with engine problems so I am looking to buy another car before prices get bad from the tariffs. I live in Colorado and do some off roading for camping and reaching sketchy trailheads. I love car camping and have a sleeping platform with drawers underneath in my current SUV. My current list of requirements is below. Any suggestions would be helpful!

  • four/all wheel drive
  • high ish ground clearance
  • some level of off road capability
  • ideally able to sleep in the back with seats put down (I’m 5’6”)
  • budget: 20/25k (used)

I’m looking for a truck that’s on the smaller side, has an access cab, 4 wheel drive and has great reliability. Any recommendations on models, makers or years?

Considering getting a new car

my parents are going to start looking for a car for me and they will be asking what kind of car i would want just to get an idea. i would say my budget is up to $30,000-$40,000 but the less costly the better. they also prefer me having an elevated car, like a compact suv, to be able to maneuver myself better

i’m currently between a toyota rav4 and a volkswagen tiguan.

for some context, i’m 18 and commute to college about 2 hours(both ways). and i also commute to work so i am driving around quite a bit. i’m currently driving a 2017 ford escape.

i’m looking for something that’s good on gas, has decent safety, and is overall comfortable. i’m also willing to consider other car brands.

Ford F150 Lightening Lariat

Haven’t decided if I’m going to pull the trigger yet. I know the tax is wrong because he had to change the offer sheet to account for the $7500 federal credit and the taxes didn’t change lol. So the sheet isn’t perfect, but we aren’t in serious negotiations yet.

Thoughts if it’s a good deal? Never bought a new car before and I have never had anyone to ask.

Thanks Reddit.

Looking for a full size pickup

Going to retire soon and thinking about buy a travel trailer. While researching tow vehicles it has become a little overwhelming because they all seem to have some sort of reliability issues. All of the travel trailers we have looked at have a GVWR of 6k lbs or less. Which 1/2 ton pickup would you recommend as a reliable and comfortable tow vehicle. I plan on buying used and my budget is about $50k or less.

Also open to 3/4 ton if needed and I want to be open minded, so which 3/4 tons do you suggest for comfort and reliability also?

Help me decide on a car. Hyundai or Mazda

I’m in the process of buying my first car and have narrowed it down to three options: the 2023 Hyundai Elantra, the 2021-2022 Hyundai Sonata, and the 2021-2022 Mazda CX-5. All of these will be used, of course. I’ve done a lot of research on these models, but I’m struggling to decide which one is the best fit for me. I keep going back and forth, but I’ve managed to narrow it down to these three choices.

Initially, I had the Mazda 3 in mind, but I ruled it out because of its small interior space. Plus, I’m not a big fan of the infotainment screen in Mazda vehicles. I then considered the Mazda CX-5 due to its larger size, which offers more comfort and practicality. However, my main concern with the CX-5 is its infotainment system—specifically, the screen. I plan on using the car mainly for navigation with Google Maps, and the Apple CarPlay integration isn’t very smooth in the Mazda. This is a major factor that’s holding me back from fully committing to the CX-5, but I’ve still included it in my list since it does have a lot of appealing features.

The Hyundai Elantra has really caught my attention because it has everything I’m looking for in a car—good looks, great tech, and excellent fuel efficiency. However, my main concern with the Elantra (and also the Sonata) is its long-term reliability. A friend of mine has owned two Elantras, a 2017 and 2018 model, and now drives a 2020 Sonata, he claims he has had 0 issues with these cars and loved them so much. He’s had a generally positive experience with these cars, but I still wonder if reliability will be an issue in the long run.

As for the Sonata, I really like its design, and it’s a car I’ve highly considered as well. It seems like a perfect blend of comfort and tech, and feels a lot more premium and upscale compared to the Elantra but I’m not completely sure if it’s the right choice for me. I am worried about its transmission. I’m still young and want a car that’s not only practical but fun to drive too. Something with cool features, a solid driving experience, and good overall performance. This is my first car, and I really want to make the right choice. I know some will say Toyota or Honda but the Camry is too expensive and not a fan of the Corolla at all. As for Honda the only one I’m interested in is the Civic but I have been in it and to me it feels very basic and it’s also expensive. Is Hyundai really as bad as people say? I was told as long as you take care of the car it’ll take care of you and should last a long time.

I would really appreciate any advice you can offer to help me make this decision! What do you think? Is there a clear winner among these options, or should I be considering something else? Thanks in advance for your help!

Opinion on VW Pssat? // Ireland

I'm looking to buy a used car and I came across a dealership 2013 VW Pssat 1.4 petrol automatic for € 10,200.. it has about 114k kms on it. It's a Japanese import and I'd be the first owner in Ireland. Dealership is providing 6month warranty on it. I drove the car, it sounded normal and drove fine. Also checked out a 2014 model of the same car and it threw a bit of jerk while switching from N to D.

Do you think its a decent price for the 2013 car? Anything I need to keep in mind while checking the car again?

Dealership guaranteed new nct before delivery.

Thank you!

What truck should I get for work?

I am looking at purchasing a work truck for my landscaping business. My budget is around $8k, I just need a barebone work truck, 2 doors are fine. I want something that would last well, and I don't care too much about features. I am looking at a 2016 Ford F-150 with around 140k miles selling for $8k. Is this a good price? I also am interested on the reliability of it as it has a V6 flex fuel engine. Or, should I go with a ram tradesman around the same year? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Budget of 70-80k, EV curious but mostly looking for something unique and cool

Currently drive a 2014 bmw 528i and looking to make a change (head gasket blew or I’d drive it more).

I have a great job with no kids. I do not want an SUV or a hatchback, would prefer a luxury sedan or even a sports car. I’ve test driven a couple of EVs and really like the Lucid Air touring (found one that I could buy for about 70k).

Any advice? Happy to go used for something really sick.

Thanks!!

Acura SUV. Buy or wait?

I have a 2021 Acura RDX w/ 54k miles on it and I’m wondering if I should trade it for a new RDX or MDX given the tariffs etc. 54k miles isn’t a lot but I’m concerned about unknowns like future repair bills and what prices will be like in a year or two. I would likely want to trade up then under normal circumstances but with the tariff uncertainty I’m on the fence about timing. Should I get something new now or wait?

07 Infiniti G35 or 03 Honda Accord EX V6?

In a bit of a pickle with deciding whether I should get the 07 infiniti G35 or Honda Accord EX V6? They both are the same exact price. Here's a breakdown of what they have.

07 Infiniti G35:
- 214k miles

- 2 Owners (2nd owner sold it within a year)
- Navi System and generally better tech
- Clean Title

03 Honda Accord EX:
- 184k miles
- 1 Owner
- Clean Title

Insurance on both is around the same too (Im a young adult so I get charged heavy on insurance)

Side Note:
There is also a Lexus ES 300 and Chrysler Base 300 for sale too cheaper than the 07 g35 and 03 Accord, both under 200k miles, but they both need touch ups. Still drivable but I can't really afford to fix up a car.

If Anyone needs more info on either car just comment and I'll lyk!

Ford Offers Employee Discount to All Customers

https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a64376162/ford-tariff-response-employee-pricing-for-all/

Where is everyone's head at with this decision. Seems like a good time to buy a Ford car before the huge price increases coming after the tariffs. I know that they have a huge amount of inventory and there prices are already inflated, but this might be the cheapest we'll see the prices.

College new grad need first car

Graduating soon and will be working as a SWE in Austin starting June, currently in DMV area. I don't have a car right now nor do I have a lot of experience driving (only drive when I come home from breaks). Will likely be switching location again after a year. Just need something for commuting basically.

Debt free and yr 1 total comp is ~120k. I wanted to get a integra but I think it may be too pricey, so was wondering if a 2025 civic was my best bet, but am open to suggestions. Also with market uncertainty should I just buy ASAP? Or wait till I move to Austin and drive a rental until I find a good deal on a car there?

First car suggestions?

Im thinking about my first car and already got the g86 in mind (found one for just over 9k which i will be able to barely afford soon) and a miata for about 5k, but the catalytic converter is broken. Anyone got suggestions? Id like a decent looking car, somewhat practical. Does not have to be powerful or fast, just need a low price (under 10k, ideally around 5k) Would be happy about any suggestions! Ps: in my country we are only allowed to drive from 18, thats the reason why i have more money than a 16yr old in the usa.

What decent (subcompact?) hatchback doesn’t have a big booty?

I’m in the market for a used car, and the budget is between $11k~$19k. It’ll be my first time buying a car, personally.

I don’t like the shape of the Kia Soul, but like how “short” it is. My dream car at the moment is the Hyundai Venue, but are there others you’d recommend that have the backup camera/lane assist?

It’s hard to tell in pictures how long cars of any kind are (I’ve researched on here and looked up the recommendations but have trouble telling), and whenever I see cars while I drive I try to take a mental note and then forget about it and looking it up by the time I’m at my destination!

It’s just a funny thing I’ll say to myself when looking at cars: “Eh… Too much booty…”

But it’s what I’m looking for, for sure!

Thanks in advance!

2025 CX-5 or 2022 Forester

We are between a new Mazda CX-5 Select and a 2022 Subaru Forester Limited. Retail price is $31,379 and $29,522, respectively. It will primarily be driven in town plus occasional trips — likely will become our primary road trip car but that’s going to be 4-6 hours you trip a couple of times a year and maybe a longer trip every year or two. Both are 2.5 engines and not looking at the turbo or anything.

The bigger differences in features in a power moonroof on the Forester. Really that’s about it. I know the forester has more interior space — and we are a family of four — better ground clearance. Both drive about the same. Curious about anyone’s thoughts if they have experiences with the cars, reputation for durability, repairs, maybe resale value. Thanks.

Is it worth buying a 10 year old car

I’m in the market right now for buying a used car. I don’t want to spend more than 20k since I just want an A to B car than will last me for at least 10 years. Ive been using one of my mom’s car for the past 2 years and I’ve only put 15k miles on it.

I saw this 2016 toyota camry XSE with 50k miles on it priced at 16000. My greatest concern is: is it fairly priced and would it bring me a lot of problems in the near future since it’s an old car despite the mileage?

It’s my first time buying a car. Any advice is appreciated, even car recommendations. Thanks!

Stop thinking economically and buy that car

You don’t have much time left and you dont need a sportscar when you are 50 or 60. get that supercar now and invite as many girls you can on a date and have a sleepover. Look at Biden what aging does he has all this wealth but can’t remember a thing.

DO IT NOW
