Guys, please send help… my brain is trying to hyperfixatte on journaling again
 in  r/adhdwomen  5d ago

Well I won’t talk you out of it lol because I do it but it’s nice to just have a commonplace book to just write down the thoughts when ever things get too overwhelming in my head.

Write the lists or the things I want to buy or the restaurant a friend mentioned. Just nice to have a place to put it.

Then it’s so fun to flip through in five years on all the things I just forgot about because they have a nice tidy place in a book that was lost in the closet 😆

Help optimize my skincare night routine!
 in  r/30PlusSkinCare  5d ago

For acne scars, I’d probably look into getting it professionally done. You probably won’t get the results you’re looking for with the .5 and I wouldn’t recommend dermarolling with anything greater than that at home.

Depending on how the glycolic is reacting to your skin, you probably don’t want to do that nightly. And with tretinoin too. That’s a lot of actives.

How’s your skin reacting to all of that already?

I can smell when people have cancer
 in  r/self  5d ago

Yes, my university was doing some of that research. It’s the same premise that they use to train vapor wake dogs for bomb-sniffing. It’s a mixture of the human pheromones with gun powder that wafts off of a body.

And with that intellect, I can see how a dog could smell the changing pheromones or chemicals in humans too. I think the test was spin a selection of test tubes and have the dog sit at the test tube with cancer cells. I think it was something like 75% or 80% success rate. Pretty crazy!

I feel like this is an OnlyFans funded unit. NYC one bedroom - that shit is expensive and then decorated like this…

About to hit 40 and no idea what I’m doing 😐
 in  r/30PlusSkinCare  28d ago

Start with Cerave, Cetaphil, or La Roche Posay. Or Vanicream.

Ulta carries all of those and some Korean sunscreens as well. I recommend Korean sunscreens to anyone for under makeup and days spent inside. And then get your American developed sunscreen filters for days spent outside.

So for 40, your skin looks pretty good. You’re being too hard on yourself.

Right now you just need a face wash you like, a moisturizer and sunscreen you like. That’s where anyone should start before they jump into actives.

Then after you’ve built consistency with at the very least sunscreen, with your skin, I’d look into a retinol type product and Vitamin C. But don’t jump into it until you can have a sunscreen you’ll put on every day.

And then once you can add the actives as mentioned. And those can be easily googled or found on social media when to put them on. Dr. Dray on YouTube is very good about explaining that. Also Dr. Sam Ellis of Prequel Skincare is good too.

Has beauty of Joseon actually protected you in the sun?
 in  r/30PlusSkinCare  Mar 06 '25

What I’ve heard for Korean sunscreens is that they are for daily low sun activities. Mainly for low exposure days. It’s recommended to use other sunscreen filters when going to places like Hawaii and Australia where the sun is stronger. Or when you’re going to be outside.

What’s really going on
 in  r/FedEmployees  Mar 05 '25

I’m curious as to what world benefits you. I feel like I’d like to see a reset of sorts as well but I do like the safety net of democracy.

I hate seeing old people in constant power who have no business making decisions for me but I also like having freedoms to do what I’d like.

What does communism mean to you in your daily life?

Ehhh I wouldn’t defend pelosi as being clean with her money. Pelosi is just as corrupt as the others and she’s part of the filth that needs to move along.

But not tens of millions. The casual person doesn’t accumulate tens of millions of dollars like the current boomers and tech billionaires.

how to introduce/use ukrainian tret?
 in  r/EuroSkincare  Feb 27 '25

There are a lot of retinol/tret sub reddits to refer to as well. Lots of good info. Always good to search first and if your question isn’t already answered, you can ask.

Not ‘dupes’ when AliExpress sells your exact product. And likely DFYNE is drop ship anyways.

Well DFYNE can be found on AliExpress so really nothing special there.

Or it’s because the tariffs are too expensive to run a profit on their drop shipped goods. We could do with a lot less of the drop shipped designs

Which affordable products that you swear by?
 in  r/30PlusSkinCare  Feb 25 '25

Really depends on your skin type. @skin_ken has really good roundups of sunscreen on Instagram.

I have very normal skin and love the Beauty of Joseon Aqua Fresh (blue ombré tube) and the HaruHaru Black Rice are good daily drivers for me.

Oh there is a whole revolution of people going back to drugstore. Cerave and La Roche Posay have amazing products at an affordable price point.

Korean and Japanese skin care is incredibly affordable and verrrry effective.

There are cheaper alternatives to the FE Ferulic out there.

Mainly it’s just consistency. You have to keep using the products that work for you.

Ono Island Rentals
 in  r/Alabama  Feb 05 '25

That makes sense. Just a bummer because I loved staying on the island and would love to bring family there in the future. But at the end of the day, it makes a lot of sense to frown upon short term. Thanks!

Travel Ono Island Rentals

So I know that Ono Island is all family vacation homes but why aren’t any on the rental websites? Am I missing something? Did they change their HOA to not allow short term rentals?

Makes sense to me but just figured I’d ask for confirmation. I remember as a kid going there for Spring Break and now I can’t find a single home for rent.

I love the ‘…and had a face lift ‘ because that’s what it is!! We can do alllllll the procedures in the world but you gotta have a bomb ass plastic surgeon in your back pocket to tie it all in a pretty bow.

The skin around my eyes is lightly peeling, almost like a sunburn. Any ideas?
 in  r/30PlusSkinCare  Jan 31 '25

Yeah I find retinol will do this if you’re not hyper vigilant about where you’re placing it.

Just be patient when you’re applying your skin care and really let everything dry down before the next step (outside of Hyaluronic Acid, you need skin to be damp to get its benefits)

Went back to drug store shampoo/conditioner and not looking back
 in  r/beauty  Jan 16 '25

I’m loving that we as a community are coming back to drugstore products. It’s time to realize that expensive doesn’t mean better. And we actually need some of the sulfates to clean our scalps.
